Absolutely the best location possible
I only stayed a few days but will stay again. The location is incredible, the view is great. Place is clean and easy to get to. Based on reviews I had expected issues picking up the keys and the stairs to the loft but it was easy to get the keys and used the handrail to get to the loft and it was no issues at all. I really enjoyed my stay and will again soon

Short stay on Île Saint-Louis
Fantastic location and view on Paris’s rooftops and landmarks (Seine, Sacré Cœur, Centre Pompidou, etc.) Ghislaine, the owner, is a very friendly and communicative owner. Picking up the keys at a close by mini mart a few blocks away was a little cumbersome after a long trip but it was a short 10 minute walk away from the flat. This place was perfect for us, we loved it. Heads up: there will be a few steps to climb from the elevator to the last floor, and from the living space to the bed upstairs. I highly recommend this rental, and would go back in a heartbeat.

Paris apartment
Location and convenience are really good. Very small. Older people should be careful. Shower is at least 14” off the floor, and stairs to the tiny loft are very tricky. Danger of slipping and falling could be of concern. Bed is actually just a thin mattress on the floor of the loft. Not comfortable. But, you normally would not be spending very much time there anyway.

Perfect location
All reviews previously captured the accommodations well, this is clearly a much loved apartment that serves as a rental, throw open the windows overlooking the Seine, listen to the chatter and music float in - enjoy fromage, bread and wine, or prepare quick breakfasts before heading out for the day. Easy access to small groceries, patisseries, brasseries and the bustle of the desirable location. Communication was easy, every question answered and we cannot wait to return to live like a local Parisian in this quiet building. Bed was comfortable and steps to the loft were sturdy and able to be easily navigated forwards and backwards. Metro lines were super accessible and got us walking or using public transportation easily to all parts of Paris.

Nice Stay in Paris
The apartment was in a good location next to the river. It had everything we needed. We had to pick up the key about a half mile from the flat which was difficult because we arrived at night and it was raining. Other than that, we liked our stay here.

Unglaubliche Lage und romantische Wohnung
Die Lage der Wohnung ist einfach unglaublich. Direkt auf der Ile Saint Louis gelegen schaut man morgen schon beim Kaffeetrinken auf die Sein. Man ist so mittendrin im Zentrum von Paris, besser geht es nicht. Gegenüber der Wohnung, direkt auf der anderen Seite der Seine, gibt es einen netten Ausschank, wo man Abends draußen in der Sonne sitzen und etwas trinken kann. Es ist eine wirklich nette und friedliche Stimmung dort. Die Wohnung selbst ist wirklich nett eingerichtet, so als wäre man ein Student/Studentin für Literatur oder Kunst an der Sorbonne. Wir fanden es sehr romantisch. Alles was man braucht ist vorhanden. Es gibt einen Carrefour Express (einen kleinen Supermarkt, indem man aber alles bekommt was man braucht) gleich um die Ecke noch auf der Insel. Ghislain, die Gastgeberin, hat uns wirklich gut unterstützt und war immer via Email ansprechbar. Leider ist die Wozhnung im nächsten Jahr zu Pfingsten nicht mehr verfügbar, da wir sie wieder gebucht haben. =)

Great location in Paris
Cute city apartment in great location within walking distance of all the key sights, along with transit nearby if you get tired of walking. Easy access to airport as well from St Michel Norte Dame station which is a ten minute walk away. Comfortable accommodations but I wouldn’t recommend for mobility impaired persons, since the stairs are steep to the bedroom and the elevator is too small to use with luggage. Awesome views from windows. Our host was very communicative and accommodating with our late check in.

Ideal Paris location with a view
Excellent property centrally located on Isle St. Louis - blocks to Marais, St. Germain, and Pont Marie metro station. Top floor studio apartment (one flight of stairs above elevator) with loft sleeping area (with ladder stairs) and north views over the Seine. Had difficulty accessing apartment, but landlord immediately answered email and came to let us in. Lovely getaway location for two!

Atelier on Quai Danjou
As described ,it is a studio on Ile St Louis with a spectacular view of the Seine ..What we would have appreciated is a better description of the sleeping quarters .The half stairs are more like a ladder and must be negotiated very slowly and deliberately .They must be backed down much like a galley stairway in a boat .No one over 50 should not be advised that the final stairway is quite windy and also should be slowly approached ,especially with luggage .The owner has not removed hundred and hundred of books which take up the coffee table and the floor as well as the total bookcase and the stairs leading to the bed .It is comprised of two mattresses on the floor with no bed frame .Also there is no headroom over the bed to stand .The lifts space has 30percent standing area .My partner at six feet one could only stand up in the corridor .The entire loft is sloping steep roofs .The owner left no space for any personal effects .The makeup dresser in the loft was filled with her personal effects .Also the desk downstairs ,the tables and the side tables are filled with tchotchkes ,which I am sure have personal meaning but are merely dust collectors and make one feel you are invading her space .The final problem we met as renters was the fact one ic above her nejghbors bedroom .When we arrived we were requested not to flush a toilet in the evening.We abided by the rules and never flushed from 10 pm till 8 am .The toilet is not connected to the city sewerage but runs by a very large motor that fend loudly .Despite this ,The toilet backless up and the motor went kaput .The owner implied we threw something other than toilet paper to cause this .we certainly did not .As a health care professional and an architect we would never throw at object including paper towels . Into the toilet .The window panes are not sound proof enough to shield from the sirens from those vehicleswho were driving on the Seine .

Comfortable place with easy access to Metro and nice restaurants and shopping. Enjoyed overlooking the Seine and views of Paris. Ghislaine was available to answer questions quickly and made us feel at home. First time to Paris and lucky to have found her place!

Great Paris experience
A very special apartment with fabulous views. Stairs to the loft bedroom must be taken with care. It’s in a well maintained building in a great location. The owner was immediately responsive to emails both before and during our stay. This is the place for a unique Paris city experience.

Wonderfule place to stay in Paris
The property did not disappoint. I would recommend reading previous reviews related to accessing flat with the small elevator, however you can make several trips or use the large set of steps. Previous review also not the steps to the loft where the bed is located, but we did not find them unreasonable, but would be for anyone handicap. The bed itself was a little hard therefore, caused my hip pain to flare up. However, that was a minor set back compared to the overall cleanliness, location and experience of the flat. I would highly recommend this location for a visit to Paris and I would most definitely stay here again. It is conveniently located within a small walk to the metro, very close to the Notre-Dame and wonderful restaurants, markets, shopping, etc. We felt we experienced more of the laid back local life and could take the metro quickly to everything else the city of Paris has to offer. Staying on the Isle made the overall visit amazing.

Great for a short stay
We had a nice time. Location was very good since we had family nearby. Clean, lots of hot water, washer/dryer, all was good. A hot water kettle for tea would have been good, since we don't drink coffee, but everything else was fine. One note - the view was just terrific! The neighborhood was lovely too - we walked just about everywhere, cabs were inexpensive at night,cabd you're down the street from the best ice cream in the world, Berthillon! There's a market within the Bock, and a very good and inexpensive boulangerie just across from the Pont Marie. Great communication with owner via VRBO . She answered all our questions promptly. Would definitely rent again for our next visit!

Wonderful Little Apartment
My husband and I stayed at Ghislaine's property for 5 nights and we had a wonderful time. I read all the reviews before booking and so I was prepared for anything unique about the apartment. The unusually warm temps in the city made the AC a necessity. We were incredibly grateful for that addition. I must reiterate what another reviewer wrote and warn anyone with mobility issues to consider another property. Getting up and down from the loft and in and out of the shower requires a little dexterity and caution. We loved this property and this location and would definitely book again if we are ever in Paris.

Lovely little apartment
A very pleasant little apartment on l'ile St Louis overlooking the Seine. Great, quiet location. The apartment is on the 5th floor, but the tiny lift only goes to level 4. It is filled with lots of interesting nic nacs and plenty of books to keep you interested. The bed is in the loft and is reached by a very steep set of 12 stairs. Overall, very comfortable and very French and an enjoyable place to experiennce Paris living.

Charming Studio
This apartment has such character and is ideally located for easy access to the rest of the city. Ghislaine was responsive and her instructions were very clear. Finally, the AC unit was a life saver that made the room a pleasant break from the summer heat! This experience allowed me to explore as much as I could during my short stay in Paris while giving me a home base to which I looked forward to returning at the end of each day.

Beloved Ile St. Louis!
Ghislaine is the sweetest - she greeted me, showed me everything I needed in the apartment! The apartment is in a wonderful location and I liked looking down upon the Seine from the 6th floor windows. There is a grocery store a couple blocks away, a pharmacy, ice cream shops, restaurants, etc........all right there! As mentioned by other reviewers, the apartment is on the 6th floor (U.S.) - the elevator goes to the 5th floor U.S. and then there is one flight of stairs. These buildings on Ile St. Louis were built in the 1700s, so much has been retrofitted. The bed - VERY COMFY! - is in the loft, and the stairs are wooden, so you do have to have some agility. There is a railing only on one side. The apartment itself is comfy and cozy and very, very secure and safe! Ghislaine has put a lot of thought and effort into the decor. The shower was wonderful, and the kitchen was adequately stocked. I truly enjoyed meeting Ghislaine and my week-long stay in her apartment! Merci beaucoup, Ghislaine!

A little slice of Heaven
I come to Paris often and always rent a studio or small one bedroom apt. This apt is a little gem, in the beautiful, historic heart of the city. Perfect location: You can walk into the Marais in 5 minutes, and one short Metro stop to Chatelet will get you anywhere you would want to go. I came for a cold, snowy weekend in January and was perfectly content to stay put and read in the cozy apt.one afternoon. Kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping loft are perfect for one or two people. The owner couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A little gem on Ile St Louis!!!!
We travel to France regularly, always looking for apartments where you can feel good in a French atmosphere. This place totally fulfilled our expectations One cannot find better location in Paris than Ile St Louis. It is beautiful, peaceful and walking distance to most places you may wish to visit. There are multiple metro stations and buses around. The apartment is small but wonderfully organized and decorated. Everything is beautiful, great furniture, decoration, colors… Great view on the river Seine. Just a word of caution, it is a two level flat with step stairs to reach the upper level. As everything is the flat, it is beautifully done but it is not for people with ambulatory limitations. The owner is very responsive and accommodating. She gave us a late checkout that made our life a lot easier on our last day. Thank you Ghislaine!

Great location on Isle St Louis
The property is on the 5th (kitchen, dining, WC) and 6th (bedroom loft) floors of an apartment complex. The elevator goes to the 4th floor, but it is an easy hike up the stairs. The windows open onto the Seine where one can watch the tour boats go by. The accommodations were cozy and the bed very comfortable (best so far on this trip to France). And the location was great. Just one street off the shopping street on Isle St Louis. Check out the marionette store! There are nearby grocery for breakfast fixings if you don't want to have a nice petit dejeuner at a local restaurant.

All I wished for
It was a long time dream of mine to spend some time in a "garret" or "mansard" apartment, as they call it in France. High above the rooftops, seeing the city of lights skyline and the river Seine, this little gem is all you can wish for for the price. It is small, indeed, but it has all conveniences and a very comfortable queen size loft bed. Air conditioning to discretion and a quiet spot on a low traffic island in Paris.
