Not Good for Babies and Young Children

Beautiful, safe and welcoming!

We absolutely ADORED Carillon Beach and it’s many amenities. It was a beautiful and serene environment with beach access directly across from the homes. The homes were clean, well stocked with necessities, and ready to go upon arrival. Our communication with the host was superb. These homes & Carillon beach itself checked off everything we wanted in a vacation. We will definitely look to stay again!!

2023 Carillon Beach Vacation

We love the privacy and spacious beach. The only thing I was disappointed to see were all the tents set up. We had our view obstructed every day by tents in front of our beach chairs.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rock lobster and love shack were great for our family. The location is as closed to being on the beach as you can be, without actually being on the beach. The walkover to the beach is right across from the driveway. It can be a little tight if you are filling all the bedrooms. There isn’t a space large enough for everyone to sit together at a meal, but we made it work. The barstools on the balcony were great. Having the small pool was perfect for the kids and so refreshing to have after a long day on the beach. We used the gas grill, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook every night. Only thing I would improve is a cabinet or shelf to put snacks; there was nowhere besides the countertops and the fridge to put food. Carillon overall is such a great community and we can’t wait to come back!

It is perfectly situated across the street from Walkover 8. The pool always come in handy for our kids!

Reviewer Comments: This property was great for our extended family of 9, offering plenty of space to share when desired, and plenty of privitude when needed. The layout was convenient; the houses were clean and well-furnished; the kitchens were well stocked; the proximity to the beach was a plus; and the (small_) pool was a nice and convenient feature. The only suggestion for improvement would be to add either curtains or blinds to more of the living areas, as the bright sunlight beaming through at 6 AM was way too much !!!

Amazing! But

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I had a great time, we stayed for 7 nights and it was in an amazing location not in the party part of town. We rented both houses, we had 9 adults and a lot of kids. The main house was great but when looking at the houses online the main house shows two king rooms with their own bathrooms but not true the second room is a queen and the bathroom is outside the room. The love shack looks a whole lot bigger in pictures ( it was very very small) everything is nice and in very great shape and clean but small. But over all these house are great and the community is amazing and the manager is the best she was always there to help with anything at any moment.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location with the beach access across the street! A community pool is so close too. The pool on site is clean and fun! The bedrooms are small and the house is not well insulated - you can hear ever creak of the house once someone wakes up. The kitchen is too small for the amount of people that stay, especially considering if the Love Shack occupants are a part of your crew. The counter heights stools are all you have for seating. Thankfully we were able to take advantage of the outdoor seating since it didn’t rain during meal times. The cabinets are very high and difficult to get items down, even with the step stool.The Love Shack rooms are tiny and also very loud.

Lovely house with plenty of room

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was great with plenty of room to spread out and it was very well appointed. We had one small issue - needed a new light bulb and the property manager was very responsive. They texted back almost immediately. I wish we had known there was a $70/day fee to heat the hot tub...so there is not really a hot tub. We specifically rented a house with a hot tub because my husband wanted one. It may be that the hot tub can't be heated without heating the pool and we definitely didn't want the pool heated in June. One minor glitch, but not a deal breaker. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the house!

Another great trip to Carillon!

We have been vacationing in Carillon for 20 years. This was our first time staying in Rock Lobster & Love Shack. The location can’t be beat- Steps from the beach walkover! The pool is fantastic. One word of advice before booking this property, especially a large group- pay close attention to the description and photos of the common areas and sleeping arrangements. This layout is a bit different from other beach properties. (The property manager, Karen, reviewed a lot of this with me when I booked the house) Speaking of the property manager- she is great! Very prompt responses from booking the reservation and throughout our stay.

Tight, odd layout

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were a group of 10 consisting of 3 families (2 sets of 2 adults with 2 kids and another 2 adults) and rented both Rock Lobster and Love Shack. First thing we noticed upon arrival is there is no gas grill but a VERY poorly maintained charcoal grill, like the kind at public parks but worse. The pool was too cold to use and costs $60+/day to heat including the spa tub (hot tub) so we did not use it - there is a community heated pool less than 1 minute from the house, so do not book this house just for the pool. Rock Lobster is updated nicely but too odd and small for the number of guests it can accommodate - it can house 9 comfortably with the 2 king beds on the main level, 1 queen on the 2nd level, and 3 bunks in the loft. However, the den/living room is small and only can seat 5, so no gathering room with this house unless outside. Then you have Love Shack. Emphasis on Shack. It is horrendously outdated and not well maintained. Neither house was very well cleaned prior to our arrival but we requested early check in and chalked it up to the rushed arrival. Love Shack is way too small. Queen beds are squeezed in to the main level rooms and you can't even walk around the bed. The doors off the bedrooms (to the pool deck) don't lock and have an alarm on them that blare anytime the door is opened or remains open for too long if a button is not pressed. The dishwasher did not work. We all agreed we would probably never stay in the resort community after this experience, which is unfortunate since we stayed across the street 4-years prior and had such a lovely time that we came back. Not what we expected for sure.

Family beach trip

Rick Lobster was very nice. My family rented love shack which had a broken washing machine and dryer and no internet. I ended up doing all of my family’s laundry which was annoying for them and me. Neighborhood is lovely and it was great having a private pool and easy access to the beach.
