We take a yearly family vacation and decided to try Rosemary Beach this year over Destin. We loved Rosemary and the beach. The house had great beach access. That was about where the good things ended. We paid for early check-in. When we arrived, the AC was broken, the pool was green with algae and trash on the pool deck, and the kitchen sink water wouldn’t work. We spent the first day dealing with all of these issues instead of getting to enjoy our vacation. The sink issue wasn’t fixed until the next day. We couldn’t use the pool until the next day, but even then, the water looked cloudy. The second night of our trip, the hot water heater stopped working. We finally figured out that the breaker had flipped the next night so we did 24 hours without hot water. Also, the house was just dirty, like it needed a thorough deep clean. There were random splatters on the walls and cabinets. We couldn’t walk on the hardwood floors without our feet turning black from dirt. The owner was communicative about the issues, but it’s like no one checked the property before we came. The owner offered to have a cleaning crew come in while we were there, which we declined. When asked about compensation for all of these issues, all we were offered was the cleaning fee back minus the linen fee. We settled on 550 returned. After spending 7k on the trip, it was not worth it and the compensation not even close to enough for the issues we dealt with that honestly, really impacted our vacation.
