A unique place in a truly remote setting.
On the positive side, the staff were friendly, the rooms were impeccably clean, and the hotel grounds were green and pleasant.
There are, however, some inconveniences. Dining at the hotel requires prior reservations, which is unusual given that the only other nearby option is a single restaurant at another hotel. This lack of choice reduces comfort.
The beach is not within walking distance, but a small shuttle train runs regularly. Unfortunately, the road is so dusty and broken that passengers arrive covered in dust. Paving this short stretch would make a big difference.
The rooms, though spotless, are quite dated—for example, our bathroom door didn’t close properly.
Public transport in the region is notoriously poor, which is not the hotel’s fault, but considering the remote location, an agreement with local taxi services would greatly improve guest experience. Instead, the staff rely on private contacts and suggest booking taxis a day in advance, or ideally coming by car. For reference, calling a taxi from Lecce is no problem.
That said, despite these shortcomings, our overall stay was very good, and the sea was absolutely magnificent.
