Mostly Functional but Certainly NOT "Luxurious"

"Luxurious" definitely needs to be removed from this property description. Overall the property is poorly maintained and in dire need of some upgrades. The pool was unusable due to a leak that resulted in the water level falling below the level at which it could be effectively cleaned. The pool cleaner happened to stop by the first morning of our stay and suggested against using the pool due to the amount of particulates in the water. The patio concrete around the pool was rampant with black mold. The only toilet on the main floor was broken and unusable during the duration of our stay. The internal mechanism wouldn't register when full so it would just run endlessly if the water was on. The coffee maker wouldn't dispense which turned out to be a blessing since once we were able to open it up and look at it we discovered that the reason it wouldn't work was because it was so full of mold and growth that it was plugged up. There was no surplus toilet paper in the house so I had to buy my own. My previous experience in vacation rentals led me to expect some basic non-perishable consumables in the kitchen like spices, zip-loc bags, tin foil, etc. in the kitchen that were left by previous renters but there wasn't so much as a salt shaker so plan on bringing everything with you or spending a lot of money at the grocery store if you expect to prepare a meal. More to say but apparently I'm out of characters...

The house was very big and in the perfect area but need some updating also coffee maker not working TV remote battery was dead living room ceiling fan not working and sliding door handle broken, but we did love the house and had a wonderful time with the family.

Master bathroom had the toilet falling through the ceiling. It was crooked and the ceiling underneath it was falling. There was a leak somewhere and the floors on the lower level were always wet. The refrigerator didn’t work, the coffee pot didn’t work. The air conditioner didn’t work so it was always 79 or higher in the house. And to top it off there were roaches and spiders! We reported all of this and no one ever came to fix anything!

Lack of communication, will not stay here again!

When we arrived, do you could tell that the floors and mop and clean everything was dirty to the touch there were ants in the table burnt out lightbulbs the light in the pool didn’t work the grill was not on the property as it stated in the listing, the water pressure was horrible. The AC did not work upstairs, we were woken up at 5 AM by the sound of water that was flowing from the ceiling into the formal living room area from a first pipe that we are pretty sure was a sewage pipe. You could tell that this is happened before due to the damage of the ceiling, that was there when we first got there , all of the furniture was dirty and whenever we called the emergency line about the water leak that was like a serious waterfall. The emergency line said to leave a voicemail and somebody would be in contact with you. We didn’t hear anything from anybody and the line stated that they opened at 8 AM so we called back at 8 AM and Left another voicemail still did not hear from anybody so we called back at 10 AM before we had to head out for the day and got a live person on the phone who took all the information and said that somebody would be around sometime that day, but we had to go to a competition so we would not be there. We came back that evening and the entire house reeks of sewage and mildew. We’re pretty sure there was mold in the house because everybody was having a hard time breathing. Everybody’s eyes were irritated everybody’s allergies were inflamed. The pool was nice and the pool is clean. All the furniture has been updated since the pictures were taken, but the cleanliness of the home was very poor And the lack of communication with the emergency line is kind of scary because what if we were actually locked out or we had a real emergency that needed attention immediately the sliding glass door bar that I supposed to lock the door does not work you can tell the Home is older and needs a lot of work The toilet in the master bathroom is slanted. After the week happened the following day, there were random wet spots in the carpet at the top of the stairs. The banister is loose and the bar that you used to walk up the stairs is loose. I’m very disappointed in this day and we will definitely not be staying at this property again.

It was generally ok. Definitely not luxurious. Had major ant issues and that in itself took a lot of enjoyment away from our stay. Not enough kitchen items to really make a decent meal. Items that had previously been reported in reviews have yet to be addressed. Pool enclosure torn in areas, so we had a racoon family visit (a baby was actually inside the enclosure). Communication with Susan was a bit challenging; but she was kind and accepting of our issues/feedback. Bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of room.

Good stay, needs upkeep

We had a a great stay and overall our experience with the home was nice, there were however several little things around the home that need attention, broken things here and there. We are handy and bring tools with us when we travel anywhere but it shouldn’t be the renters problem to go around fixing. It leaves you as a renter feeling worried that you’ll be charged for the status of the house even though the damage is already done before you’ve arrived - We temporarily screwed the sliding door handle back on though it will only last a few more pulls, cabinets coming off of their hinges and the dryer only sort of works after moving it some distance out from the wall, revealing a very dirty lint mess left behind, likely a fire hazard when left ignored for too long. So expect very damp laundry and make use of the Florida sun and patio furniture as a drying option - The toiletries and stock accommodations a are minimal and you’ll find yourself in need of things like detergent, toilet paper, kitchen needs etc.. we even had to go out and buy a frying pan, which we left as a donation to the kitchen, salt and pepper shaker too - Little things but they add up, in these ways It didn’t feel like home away from home. It was clean and the pool was enjoyable however there is upkeep needed there as well, several rips and tears in the screen make your porch floridas wild life’s terrain as well. We pulled several poor froggies from the filter but that may be par for the course down in Florida…

By far my worst vacation rental

Check in was easy, but no lighting at the main entrance and the alarm was not functional. There were ants in varying locations throughout the home. No blinds on the sliding glass doors leading to the screened in pool which was supposed to be a heated pool. The temperature in Orlando the weekend of our stay went as low as 35 degrees with no way for us to adjust the temperature in the home above 68 degrees and with no blinds on the sliding glass doors there was a draft that kept the only room with a working Tv, that did not have cable as advertised, very cold. We had to use the extra stained blankets from the closet to keep warm while we slept. We contacted the management company (Jeeves Luxury Home rentals) and had to call back to get any kind of update on when our issues would be addressed. Outside of the email we received from the host regarding check in and garbage pick up we received no other communication from Susan Sammeringer, even though I sent her 4 emails. Regarding garbage pick up we were instructed via email that trash pick up is on Mondays and Fridays and if the garbage containers were left out after 6:00 pm the host would receive a $500 fine which would then be charged to the guest, our stay ended on a Monday with a check out of 11:00 am, and no instruction on what to do with the trash from our 3 night stay it was left in the trash containers in the garage. We have stayed in vacation homes in Ohio, Georgia, and Florida and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had.

NEVER AGAIN!! DONT RENT PROPERTIES MANAGED BY JEEVES!

I had to message the host at 3:50 pm to get the info to get into the house. I got a reply, with an excuse that I hope wasn’t a lie (karma)! I was at my in-laws, so I wasn’t in a terrible rush to get into the house. I hoped that would be only small hiccup in our first family vacation with our 4-month old baby. As soon as we parked and tried to open the first screen door, the spring was broken and it looks like it had been pieced back together at least 10 times…. This is not looking good, but we looked past it. A quick walk around as we unloaded, we could see the outdated decor, the dozens of holes from hanging pictures or other handyman work that seems to have been done by DIY amateurs! A quick inspection in the kitchen we have a newer fridge, and exhaust but that’s it. The bar counter behind the sink is loose and there’s hundreds of small ants and still we persevere! We were tired so we went to shower. The second bath upstairs is falling apart! The soap dish is coming apart in the shower and the shower fixtures are oxidized beyond belief! As my wife showered in the master suite, I could hear, to my absolute disbelief, water dripping in the living room downstairs!! I had seen the water marks but disregarded them. I tried to get in contact with the host to ask about the pool heating as it’s cold, and I got the answer that it will cost more because I didn’t do it at time of booking, an option that wasn’t given to me! But still I put up with it determined not to let it ruin my family vacation! On the second as the day got hotter, to our horror, we noticed the vents blowing hot air! The AC is set to 72 as there is a note saying that’s the lowest it can be and the house is going up by the minute!! The baby monitor in our room reached 89 and started beeping! My baby is crying because he can’t sleep in the heat that was created! I shut it off because I realized that it was not working at ALL! After this back and forth, second day, no one has come to see any of these problems even after messaging the host, and even calling “Jeeves Florida Rentals” and still we have a freezing pool that we’ll gladly pay the absurd $25 a day if it means we’ll be able to enjoy just a little bit in this nightmare! The pool pump never worked, much less the heat and the property managing company charged me $280 for the heat and I’m still waiting for the refund! Our stay was filled with “contractors” trying to come fix the house as we were staying here!!

Worst experience ever

I rented a home in Orlando so I could give my daughter an amazing 13th birthday. We were planning on staying for 3 nights/4 days, and if it wasn't for the prepurchased tickets to SeaWorld and Universal, we would have left. To start, the owner of the prooperty never sent any check in information. Our check in should have been 4pm on Friday. We were driving from South Florida around 6pm and I had to send an alert to the owner around 7pm, so I can get the "key". I waited around an hour and recieved an notification saying it was sent. It wasn't sent. She had then sent me the information to get into the property. When I arrived after 9pm, I came, and the alarm wasn't armed(which no big deal, but I was told that it would be). The front patio door was hard to open and needed to be repaired, but we moved past that. The children ran upstairs to call rooms, and my oldest was laying on the bed and noticed a moving bug. No big deal, right? Well I went upstairs to check and started taking the blanket and sheets off and noticed that there was hair and live/dead bugs on the bed. I went to every bedroom (believe there were 6 beds), and noticed that EVERY bed had live/dead bugs along with hair inside the covers. I stripped the beds. Was this bed bugs? I called the office (which was around 10pm) so it was closed. Since there wasn't a fire, this wasn't considered an emergency. So, myself, another adult and 5 children slept downstairs on the wood floors. It was too late to find something. But before we went to sleep, I checked the house and saw there were ants in 2 of the 3 bathrooms. There were several holes/rips in the outside screens. So, the pool had a lot of debris from the trees surrounding the pool area. The children went to the bathroom and although they went number 1, the toilets were clogged. It wasn't just 1 toilet. It was 2 out of 3 toilets that wouldn't flush. Promptly at 8am, I called the managment company and was told that someone would be out between 1-3 hours of my call. Girls tried to use the bathroom in the master bedroom, and it was clogged, so the other adult tried to unclog the toilet, but the water still had issues going down. Meanwhile, I dropped off my girls to go to Sea World around 11am and went to Walmart to buy detergent and cleaning products to try to salvage the room. I came back around 2 pm, and still no one called or came. I called the office again. When I came home, I see water dripping from the...

Poor communication and unclean house

This was one of the worst experiences I've had with a rental. The owner did not send access information and did not answer calls or messages. She answered hours AFTER check in time so we couldn't get in on time. There was water coming up through the floor, causing the house to reek of mold and sewage. We chose to sit outside in the August heat instead of inside because of the smell. The property manager only took out the wet rug, he did not fix the water problem. There were cockroaches found on several occasions. There was no extra toilet paper, so we had to buy that. The TV didn't work right, the alarm system didn't work... the problems were endless. It was a disgusting house and I hope my review will save others from this experience.

Pool home was great for family; but needs repairs

This 4-bedroom house with a pool allowed our family and grandkids to all be together for a fun few days. We picked this location because of the proximity to the airport and to SeaWorld. If you are to rent this house, then before going make sure that you have the code to the front door. I didn’t have that. As it turned out, the owner had sent me an email, with the code, directly to me. Unfortunately, it went to my Junk folder. Without this email, you won’t know how to contact anyone in this country. (The owner lives in Germany.) The house was clean and the kitchen amply supplied with dishes and cookware. Don’t forget to pay the daily up-charge to have the pool heated. It was well worth it. The air conditioning also worked very well. The problems were that the house is in serious need of repairs. Bedroom light switches and ceiling fans are a mystery or non-functioning. I suspect the carpet on the stairs and all the upstairs should be replaced or removed. Between the carpet and the ceiling damage in the living room, we believe that we experienced mold issues. By the time we left, our throats were irritated accordingly. The price point was comfortable. While we all had a good time, the health concerns would direct us elsewhere for a return visit.
