Davenport Rental - Solona Community
We rented last minute, so within 2 weeks we had everything taken care of - Caroline always got back to us and answered all of our questions. She is very friendly and easy to work with. The home's pictures are very accurate, it is a lovely home. We had no issues whatsoever during our stay! Solona, is very clean, well-manicured & safe. We had 1 person that liked to go jogging later at night and 1 who liked going in the early morning. Both felt very safe by themselves even though it was dark out.
The houses pool area was very large and had plenty of seating for all. Even though there are neighbors on 3 sides of the house, we never really heard or seen anyone else and our stay was during spring breaks busy time. There were no pool toys of any sort or pool towels.
There is no hot tub on the premises (which we were informed of right from the start) but with the clubhouse directly across the road it was an easy walk over there to use the pool & hot tub. Keep in mind the clubhouse closed at 9pm so don't plan on having a late night dip.
The game room in the garage was ok, the items are older but we had fun with the pool table. The darts had no feathers on them and the foosball, ball itself, was not the best so we were not able to enjoy those games.
The kitchen had enough pots, pans, dishes & glassware for the 7 of us, which were all nice & in great condition. There were plenty of bath towels and kitchen towels to go around; however there were only 2 washcloths in the whole house (We substituted hand towels in place of them).
Now for supplies, we weren't as impressed. We did not get into the house until 10:00pm and found only 2 small partial rolls of toilet paper. We had to ration what there was since it was too late to go shopping (it was our 1st night in Florida and stayed up quite late celebrating). There was only 1 paper towel and 1 garbage bag. There were no soaps of any sort: bath, hand, kitchen, dish….There were no spices or oils or anything that I would have thought to be in the house for cooking purposes. (I've never rented a house that didn't have at least salt & pepper or toilet paper in each bathroom.) We left all of our supplies behind but I’m assuming the cleaners will have disposed of all the items?
Also the recycling basket was missing so we just set the items next to the garbage can for pick-up.
All in all it was a wonderful time in Florida and we greatly enjoyed our stay at Caroline’s house. I would recommend anyone to stay here!
