Great Location and Quiet Neighborhood
My family stayed here for a weekend and had a great time. The location is central with easy access to major highways to get wherever you are going. The pool is wonderful and heated (at no extra charge), and Dyna was readily available to help whenever needed. They even adjusted the hot tub to a lower temperature for us since we had young children (ages 1 & 4). The only surprise we experienced was their dog hopping the small fence separating the host side and rental side of the yard the morning of checkout. The dog is friendly by all accounts, we just were caught off guard with small kids in tow. Dyna was very responsive though so it didn't really affect our time there. Would highly recommend and would love to stay here again if we need to stay in Orlando! Side note: This did not affect us, but for others planning a stay, the kitchen/dining is on the second floor so for anyone with accessibility concerns, that would be a need-to-know and I couldn't tell from looking at the pictures prior to booking.

Do not stay here
We got there and met manager, property and pool were trashed and garbage everywhere. Property manager was acting unstable. We went inside to discuss what to do and she text me to leave her property. We were stuck with nowhere to go with a ten year old child. Total disaster

Dyna was so very cool and knowledgeable.The home was more spacious than we thought and there was an extra bedroom. New washer/dryer, fridge, coffee makers.The hot tub was a nice break from the cold ( we came down from 40 degree weather to 84). Anything we needed we just had to ask. We felt completely welcomed, comfortable and had all the privacy we wanted. She even offered her yard as a party space for our friends birthday party which we may take up on another time ( and will invite her!) . We drank wine in the hot tub and enjoyed a break from our busy schedules. Thorton park restaurants and night life is awesome and within walking distance. Lake Eola was bright and beautiful as well. Don’t really need to go to downtown Orlando to have a good time. Will definitely save this place and book it again because there was so much for us to do and we only stayed 3 nights. Thanks again Dyna for making our friends birthday a memorable one

Comfortable and great location.
We loved the property! The pool and hot tub were an amazing bonus. The location was a 15 minute walk to the events that we were visiting for so it was the perfect location. I highly recommend.

A little getaway
The property & owner were very interesting as well as attentive. I stayed here with my girlfriend in order to disconnect from the hustle and bustle. We were successful. Pictures are not accurate
First off we had a wonderful stay with family. The house was not what we had seen in the pictures. The nose deceiving is the pool area. It it dirty, dog poop and smells like dog pee and not private at all. They have a very nice dog who shared the pool with us the whole time. We are dog lovers so it wasn’t that bad., but others might not be so understanding . With a little rocky this place would be amazing.

Where Do I Begin?😍
We traveled from NYC for relaxation & this home delivered exactly what we were looking for. The area was quiet, the home was beautiful & spacious inside. The pool water temperature was amazing in the AM & PM, we were able to swim our laps. The Jacuzzi was everything we needed! Everything was provided. The property owners are super sweet! Thank you! We shall come again!

My family and I stayed here two nights, it was very close to a venue we attended. The property is exactly as described, some updates (placement of TV's & furniture) have been IMPROVED since the photos were taken/ posted. The owner lives next door should you need anything and is very friendly. :-) I reccomened for sure!

Friendly owners but no privacy
Booked this property 2 months in advance, & never heard anything from the owner about check in procedures until I messaged the week of. Was told they didn’t realize the property was booked and that they had a party scheduled at 1 in the backyard and that we could attend if we wanted to. Told the owner I was not comfortable with that because that was not in the agreement when I rented for that weekend. She fixed it and said she moved the party to Sunday after we checked out. Messaged her again an hour before our check in to let her know that we were on our way and would be there right at check in time and was wanting to know how we would get in the property. Messaged the owner again when we were 18 minutes away asking again if they would be there or if we needed a code, she finally sent a code. When we arrived the place it is a nice property but there is no privacy at all. We were outside checking out the pool when a man came into the backyard. Scared us cause we were not expecting anyone. He said he was the owner and wanted to check the property to make sure it was clean cause they had issues that day with their cleaning lady. Didn’t bother us, just caught us off guard. The owners live next door and share the backyard, with just a short fence blocking both backyards off. I did not realize this when I booked and didn’t read enough reviews to see that. I had read reviews before about the backyard being dirty, it wasn’t dirty just cluttered with outdoor pillows and pool things. Pool is nice and so is hot tub when you figure out how to work it. We luckily had a couple cancel and only had 4 people staying instead of 6. I do not feel like 2 grown adults would have fit on the upstairs couch. Main thing we did not like about this property was the no privacy. We were swimming that Friday night and her daughter kept watching us through their back window. They also had their dog Bella out and Bella came over wanting to play and swim in the pool. Bella was friendly and we are dog people so it wasn’t a problem but if you’re not or happen to be allergic definitely let them know. We were swimming for maybe 30 minutes and the owner and her daughter came out to speak to us. They are friendly people we just didn’t like that they could just walk right on over or watch you. Property is a nice property and is extremely close to downtown. Had no issues with the house itself.

Great hot tub & friendly owner
We had a nice two night stay at the property. Owner was very friendly property sleeps 4 comfortably with a great space on the 2nd floor to hang out and the location is wonderful, close to downtown Orlando. The pool and hot tub are definitely the highlight of the house, both very clean and welcoming. The backyard could use some tidying up, but overall we had a great experience.

NIGHTMARE
Nothing like the listing. Very rude property manager. The yard was like a Junk Yard. So bad we couldnt stay, only stayed 5 minutes and drove back to Michigan. The jacuzzi tub is the size of a postage stamp. Management controls the temperature. The pool is not heated!! The yard is rundown, fences falling down, shared with the owner.

Great get away spot!
Wonderful little place for the family. Didn’t stay there too much as we were at Disney or Universal. Pool and jacuzzi were awesome especially after a long day of walking. Could use some updating to interior, kitchen utensils, and backyard atmosphere (besides pool) . Overall a good experience and atmosphere!

Check in went fine after we got a hold of the owner which took a few hours so just plan ahead. Friendly people and awesome hot tub and pool. Everything is well used and no instructions, but we figure it out. Overall definitely worth the money

Perfect Location
The owner was very nice and very helpful. We were only in the area for a few days, but she gave us plenty of ideas of places to go. It is an older house, but you are in the middle of historic Orlando, so that is expected. Everything was very nice and clean. The pool was not very warm, so I am not sure if it is truly heated, but since we weren't there for long or very often I didn't even mention it to the owner (I'm sure there is a reason). The ad lists is can sleep 6, but we only saw two beds. For us, we are a family of 3, so it worked out perfectly. Overall, we loved staying here. It was a great place for us and when we come back to Orlando, I will be looking to book here!

Would not recommend
The owner never put check-in info into the app and then never responded to my messages through the app before our arrival. I had to knock on their door. Thankfully the reviews of the property gave me a clue that the owners live next door to the rental. After we checked in the owner came over to clean up the dog poop that my husband pointed out was scattered throughout the shared yard. We didn't hear from them again. We did however see them in the pool while we were there. We did not realize that it was a shared pool they would be using during our stay. Little bugs throughout the bathrooms. Dead bugs throughout the living space. Dirty glassware. Dirty toilets and grimy showers. It was obvious that the rental space had not been recently cleaned and they hadn’t even done a simple walkthrough before our arrival. I will say - the sheets on the beds were clean and the beds were really comfortable! Overall it’s a cute old house that definitely needs some updates. It is in a great location!! My main complaint is that it was not worth the expensive cleaning fee!!!! I’d really love for that to be refunded if possible.

Thornton park pool house
My husband and I both turned 70 this last year. We are in good health and we knew about the fact that the bedrooms and one bath are on the ground floor and the kitchen, living room and 2nd bath are on the upper floor. There is a perfect railing on the stairs to hang on to, so we managed nicely. The beds are comfortable, there are plenty of towels and also bedding, the full size washer and dryer work great and of course the saltwater pool was nice. The internet connection affects the television reception occasionally. The owners who live next door are very helpful and their dog Bella is very sweet and never barks. Bella loves the pool, so you do need to let the owner know if you prefer not to have her in the pool area. The area around the pool could use some care, but we swam everyday and it was great. The neighborhood is nice and the proximity to restaurants within walking distance is a big plus.

Not clean, smoked in and dangerous
The house was a mess with construction items in the middle of the floor, cigarette burns on the bed, the house smelled like smoke and it was not a safe house for my young children to be in. The house also smelled like a cat peed on the floor. Homeowner promised me a refund because we couldn’t stay, which I still haven’t gotten 4 months later.

How is it possible that the house smelled like pee if there is no animals there nor do we accept animals. I am not sure what construction items you are talking about. Why would we have any there? We have not done any work on the house since 2010. This is a non-smoking home. However, there is a chance someone did. But there is absolutely no way there would be buds. You make sound like you were in a crime place while this is the most desirable area in all Central Florida. We refund people if what they say is true. So your review is nothing but retaliation.

Good Casual Stay
This is an older cottage that could use some updates but was perfectly fine for us. Our kids loved the pool, which needed a cleaning but Dyna did brush upon our arrival (self-cleaning system doesn't clear all bark, etc. from nearby trees, but this is an aesthetic and not a hygiene issue). Dyna was a fun and informative host and our kids enjoyed playing with her daughter of the same age. The Thornton Park district is historic, charming, and walking distance to downtown and great neighborhood restaurants. We barbequed one night on the backyard grill, which has one non-functioning burner out of four and had trouble lighting but ultimately worked fine for us. Overall, a nice relaxing spot with a great host but not a good place for a perfectionist guest.

Poor accommodations that ruined my family vacation
I'm an experienced VRBO renter and have booked properties all over the US. Never have I had such a bad experience as I did with this property in April 2021. To begin, the day of check-in it was very difficult to get in touch with the property owner. My family (two adults, two grandchildren) were driving across Florida and I was flying cross-country to meet them. Using the contact number provided, we both tried to call and get a door code and check-in procedures. All calls went to voicemail and the mailbox was full so no messages could be left. After several text messages, we received a response hours later that contained nothing but four digits. No info on a lockbox location or procedures, no "sorry I have been unreachable" - nothing. I was flying in later so my daughter and her family arrived first. This property is advertised as sleeping 6 yet there are only sleeping accommodations for four people - one King and one double bed. There is a sofa in the living room but it is NOT a sofa bed - it is a sofa with a drawer containing a set of wadded up sheets which I guess you are supposed to use to crash on the couch, but that does not justify advertising a home that sleeps 6 people. Still this was just the beginning of the problems. The home was NOT clean at all. I don't mean it was untidy - I mean it was dirty. There was broken glass in front of the door between one BR and the backyard, there were crumbs all over the kitchen counter, a cockroach under the toaster, crumbs on the counter of the downstairs bathroom, hair in the shower, and the towels (all 5 of them for 6 people) smelled moldy. I have photos of all these things. My family (who had just driven 6 hours) was so put off by the appearance of the home they immediately left in search of a hotel. After my flight landed they sent me the photos so I could contact the owner (as I was the renter on the contract). I arrived late and had no luck making contact so I decided to inspect the home for myself. I am sorry to say my family did not exaggerate the state of the property. I was forced to spend the night (on top of the sheets) because it was too late to make other arrangements. The next day we all checked in to a hotel and received a rude, unprofessional response from the owner with no remedy and a scolding for complaining at all. For the first time in a year we were able to get together and this property and its nasty owner ruined our experience entirely.

Do not rent from this woman!
When we arrived in Orlando, she told us she rented the property to someone else for the night we were supposed to arrive, even though I had booked the property two months in advance. She offered another "property" which was a house people (I assume her and her kids?) had been staying in. Their food was still in the fridge, the house was dirty, and there was STUFF everywhere, )ladders, garbage bags full of who knows what, picture frames and random things everywhere. It looked like a storage building. When we pulled up she and her kids were carrying things out and packing it up in their car. We told her we would not be staying at the property for that night, and since we were moving anyway, we wanted to cancel the total reservation. She agreed to refund our money, but now she refuses. I have made multiple attempts to ask for my money back, but she will not. She states the property was available for "the rest of the stay, besides the first night", so she refuses. It was a LOT of money. She even refused to give my money back for the first night that she booked the property for but we couldn't stay there because there were other people in the house. I guess we will have to pursue legal action at this point. DO NOT RENT A PROPERTY FROM HER.

Nice neighborhood and pool
The location is great - beautiful to walk around and parks nearby for kids. The pool and hottub were very nice. Host lives next door with family and dog who sometimes visit. The house and outside are a bit dated and unkept, but clean inside. Has most things you would need to cook with, and smart tvs. No tub if you have small children, and the front is on a busy road. Overall nice place and area, and the pool can’t be beat.

Best Girls Weekend!!!
My best friend and I took an opportunity to take a long weekend away spur of the moment. Like literally booked this place the night before we we packed and we left within hours. Host was amazing! Best Host ever!!!!!! She communicated from the very beginning and had great suggestions. The house was amazing and perfect for us! The pool and spa are AMAZING!!!!! The entire area is like being home. This house has personality and charm and is worth the experience if you have never actually experienced local historic O-Town.....we didn't even know this place was here! We can't wait to come back!!!!

Enjoyed our stay here ! The location was great for walking around Eola Lake (and Swan boats!) walking to restaurants, grocery store. We went to Kennedy Space Station, Epcot Centre and Universal Studios.. (wouldn't recommend Epcot). We barbequed one night, ate out one night, and brought dinner home one night.. Internet/Netflix was a bit spotty, but everything was perfect for what we were looking for! Thanks Dyna!

Amazing property in the heart of the historic district. Extremely close to downtown and all the action. The property owner Dyna was amazing and always available to answer any questions about the area. Her dog Bella was a surprise treat as our group all loved dogs and we played fetch with Bella for hours. The house had everything we needed and the pool/jacuzzi in the back yard was nothing short of amazing. We were down for the probowl and have since decided to make it an annual trip and we will definitely be staying with Dyna again. Thanks so much, we had a great time. Til next year!!!!!

Excellent Vacation and Property
This property was absolutely perfect for our golf getaway in Orlando. We were two couples who needed to get away from the cold northern weather to play golf and enjoy New Years Eve. This beautiful historic home is located in a district just outside of Downtown Orlando with bars and resturants within walking distance and everything you could possibly need in a short drive. We played golf everyday using the Golf Now app to get good deals in the plethera of nearby golf courses in the area. Dyna was such a helpful hostess giving us suggestions on good golf courses in the area. The house was very clean, comfortable and the backyard was fantastic! My husband especially loved the awesome hot tub. We enjoyed a big outdoor party in Thorton Park for New Years Eve which was one of the best times I have ever had on NYE. We had some friends stop by one evening and they were able to spend the night with no fuss from the owners. I have to say that Dyna was one of the most helpful and easy going owners I have ever dealt with when renting a VRBO vacation home. We would definitely stay again, as a matter of fact I can't wait to rent this property again for next NYE. We couldn't have been happier!

This place is amazing!
This house is the best value in Orlando, in my opinion. Blocks from bars and restaurants, easy access to highways, plus a full dining room and kitchen. Checking in was a breeze and the backyard was just awesome. If you stay anywhere else, you’re wasting your time and money.

Our stay
My husband, his ex-wife, our kids, and my brother (yes, you read that right; co-parenting at its best) rented this perfect little place for a last minute trip to Sea World! The house was perfect for us, it exceeded all expectations. We arrived Friday evening and we all went for a night swim and ordered pizza. My brother found a loft area upstairs where he slept. Both of the bedrooms downstairs had very comfortable beds. We spent Saturday at Seaworld, and then went back to the house for a night swim and hanging outback before bed. I texted the owner about using the hot tub and he responded very quickly . There were plenty of floats for the pool outside and plenty of towels inside for everyone. We have already decided we are going to do a Disney trip next Spring and we will definitely be booking this house!!!!

If you are planning a trip this year, please check our calendar. We have put two other properties in the market two blocks away. One sleeps two and the other four. If they book with you then they can use this house amenities.

A Week in Orlando
Dyna is a super host. The house has so much character and the pool was relaxing. Close proximity to so many places to eat and shop in the downtown area was great. Rarely see this part of Orlando when you stay at the parks. Most enjoyable.

Family trip to Universal Studios
The property was exactly as advertised, Dyna was a wonderful host and the home fit our needs perfectly. It was close enough to Universal Studios that the daily commute was easy to deal with, but far enough away to get a genuine Orlando experience away from the touristy areas and nestled nicely in the historic district. Walking distance to stores and restaurants “super yummy ramen bar nearby” will be back this year most likely.

Lovely space in historic district- within walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping.

This unique property was in a great location and we truly enjoyed our stay. Walking distance to many restaurants and activities. Lake Eola nearby with a farmers market and water activities.
