After driving 7 hours, and 1 hour before check in, VRBO cancelled my reservation leaving me with nowhere to stay! The building was under repair and had been for a while but they allowed me to book anyway. I called customer service and was told to book another place and they would pay the difference. There were very few places available, but I found one and booked through a local company. I submitted my claim for the additional 300 it cost me to book another place, and VRBO denied it because I didn’t book through them. The customer service rep only told me took book another place, not that I had to book through VRBO. Even if I had booked through them, they had a limit of what they would reimburse and would not have covered all of the cost of the 3 places they had available, as all were well over 1000 more than I paid. I had to pay the additional cost of another rental after being left with nowhere to stay.
