Beachfront property was a super location for our 5 day family vacation (7 adults + 1 toddler). This property was chosen for beachfront, the gate on the back deck (limiting beach access for toddler), large table on beach side deck, 4 bed/2bath and distance to RDU airport. The shabby chic décor was charming and welcoming. One umbrella and 4 chairs were adequate, I would expect more for a home that sleeps 8. A few more items owners should give some attention to:
1) We had to look for the grill, it was in a closet by the driveway, we pulled it out, one side barely worked. This made it difficult to grill out for 8. Even if the grill was working, it was too small for the home-PLEASE get a new, larger grill!
2) Since the grill was not functioning, we used the oven which was in need of a real good cleaning.
3) We could not use the fan in one bedroom b/c one of the blades was hitting the header on the ceiling.
4) Fix the 2 kitchen drawers that do not fully open
5) Fix the ice maker
6) Repair the broken ceramic tile on the kitchen floor since small pieces were loose.
7) Replenish the First Aid kit with gauze, tape and neosporin
As a VRBO beach home owner in Michigan, I fully understand the rental process and the challenges. Keep in mind that the guest renting at the end of the season is entitled to the same amenities as those who rent at the beginning of the season (beach chairs, a working grill and repairs).
Overall our family had a wonderful time jumping the ocean waves, collecting shells and watching the sunset/moon rise over the ocean-THANK YOU for sharing your home!
