The layout of the house was great. The location perfect. However the house is infested with palmetto bugs. It was also not clean with the sheets and bedding smelling dirty. We laundered everything before we used it. Some of the pans are rusty and unusable. No large skillets or pots for a house that holds 24 people. We had to wait until the second day to get sheets that were not in the master suite. We wound up buying disposable pans . The bug problem was our biggest issue though and probably due to bad cleaners. We have rented houses in Oak Island as well as many other beaches and never had this problem. Better Beach tried to tell us it’s common but we know better. We even asked the neighbors on both sides of us and they did not have the problem. For this reason we probably won’t go back unless things change.

Great location and views. Golf cart was nice to have. Was missing quite a few of the things in listing: dish washer tabs, hand soaps, detergent, etc. We also had a problem with roaches.

The property was fabulous. Fairly new. Well appointed. Could not have been much better. Everyone in the group (11) loved this beach house. Beachfront (really); convenient. Plenty of room -- and even plenty of parking. Two minor inconveniences: 1) killed and threw away 8-10 palmetto bugs in first 2 days but fine after that. 2) Random guy walking around under the house -- I said Hi and he said hi but then walked away. A few minutes later, I see him climbing the stairs to our unit. I asked what he was doing (thinking he had the wrong unit), but he said he was checking on the pool. It ended up being fine but a bit concerning and definitely awkward.

Ants and Pool Broken

There was a incredible amount of black ants in the kitchen - which we eradicated ourselves with a trip to store and many ant trap purchases. We had to keep our food in the dining area. Furthermore the pool was broken for 50% of our stay - which of course was disappointing as well. Communication was weird because there were so many different people from Better Beach Rentals responding. It was confusing. Nice location and house was good besides the ants and pool.

The Beach Life

Great views, location was fantastic, plenty of bedrooms, beds and bathrooms. We had a family of 19. We enjoyed every minute of the house and property.

Great house with a wonderful view.

This was a wonderful beach house with wonderful views! The top floor balcony was the best view and was so relaxing to sit and enjoy! I’m very thankful to the maintenance team that came the day after our arrival to fix the jammed lock that led to the top floor patio! Despite a tropical storm / hurricane coming through the day before, the team took time to fix this problem so everyone in our family could take advantage of this. Wonderful experience with a very responsive management company!

Intro To Summer Vacation

Family from NC, WV & VA gathered at this property for a brief vacation and to kick start our summer season. Considering the amount of fees, we were a bit disappointed with housekeeping, as there were several smudges on walls and doors that we were able to easily clean with Clorox wipes. There were also several bugs and webs near deck entrances that we also sprayed and cleaned out of corners. We were also unable to access cable/nor apps on main room TV; however, this just forced the family to disconnect electronically and spend more time with one another. The pocket door latch was broken on half bath; and, the washer machine malfunctioned, to which management was quick to respond and repair! The elevator was a lifesaver with transporting luggage to and from the dwelling. We loved the location and convenience to beach; as well as, accessibility to island stores/restaurants. All in all, good times were had and we plan to return to Oak Island.

Great Family Getaway

House exactly as shown and described. Place is in good shape overall and had plenty of bedrooms for many families. Parking was pretty good to. Note that heated pool was great even with 55 degree air. It isn't noted that heating the pool is extra in the listing which was disappointing, but the extra fee was worth it for us. The house sways a bit in the ocean wind so don't be too alarmed. Bring extra towels for pool or beach. We would stay here again!

Great location, great house, great host!

This property was perfect for a group of guys from church to get away for a couple of days. We fished right out in front of the house. The heated pool was perfect to chill out and relax. And the living space was great for just hanging out. Will absolutely use this place again!

Layout of bedrooms was perfect for my family.

overall the property was very good location, .lots of activities. Suggestions: Exterminator needs to do a little better. few ants in kitchen and few roaches hanging around not bad, just needs a little attention. Everything good enough that I have boked again next year.

For the amount of people it will sleep the kitchen & living area is very small

We had problems renting this house just never got a check in page. We had no code to get in the keyless entry. I had to call a emergency number just a few hours before checking in because their office was closed
