  • Consider Descanso Oaks your home away from home while you visit Oak Island. This lovely property boasts 4 bedrooms and a private pool with a game-ready pool house, outdoor shower, and separate sand rinse area.

    * All linens are provided including pool towels.
    * All the beds are made; ready for your arrival. And the pleasure of your relaxation.

    Beds include a king, queen, 2 twin XLs, and double bunks. It's perfect for two small families, extended families, or groups of friends. With 2 full bathrooms, guests will have all the comforts they need.

    Your quiet get-away includes a private unheated pool, pool house, lanai, outdoor eating area, front porch gathering place, deck loungers, and the comfort of AC. The pool house has AC, TV, Bluetooth speakers, comfortable seating, a game table, arcade and an air hockey table.

    Browse the guest kiosk at the breakfast bar to see local beaches, TV channels, and even current radar. Turn on the main room's full-room Bluetooth speakers and a faux fireplace to create an awesome escape. Head out to the pool house and stream audio to the speaker system to create an unforgettable game room memory!

    Walk to the surf to spend your day, while you spend the rest of your time poolside. 5 blocks to the beach. Or take a stroll to see the ICW along water-lined Yacht Drive. This cozy cottage paradise is in the middle of all that is truly the tranquility of Oak Island.

Our stay was wonderful. The home had everything my family needed. Beds were comfortable, pool was amazing and used daily, and the home was a great location. We’ve book with other places at the beach and in Gatlinburg, and this was definitely the best place we’ve stayed. Would book again. Thanks Tom for a great stay.

Wonderful host, wonderful house! We had an excellent time on the island! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen, stocked! The host was really nice and played along with our silliness messaging back and forth. The pool house was a great escape for a nap or puzzle. We thoroughly enjoyed out trip. The only down side was having to go home!

Descano Oaks was beautiful! Outdoor space was amazing! Convenient location to beach and stores. Tom was a great host! The house was cozy and fully stocked! Impressive, actually! Our family really enjoyed this home. We will for sure reach out to rent again!!!

Amazing house! Everything was beautiful and spotless. We enjoyed the pool, outdoor shower and especially the screen porch. Cottage style with very well used space. Highly recommend this property!

"Our stay in Oak Island was fantastic! Even with 6 people in the house and some less-than-ideal weather, we never felt like we were tripping over one another. The space is incredibly spacious, clean, and functional, but it also has a wonderful personality that makes it feel like a home rather than just a rental.The kitchen was well-equipped for any kind of meal we wanted to prep, which was a huge plus. Most importantly, our host was top-tier—extremely caring and communicative from start to finish. It was exactly what we paid for and a very positive experience overall. We will definitely be staying here again!"

Tom was an amazing host. He really went above and beyond. We wanted to do a low country boil one night and there wasn’t a big enough pot. He had one delivered right away. The house was clean and well stocked. Everything was as described. Our family had a blast. Thank you for letting us stay with you!

As a travel ball family, we’ve stayed in a lot of VRBOs over the years, and this was honestly one of our favorites.The home was exceptionally clean and stocked with everything we needed, from consumable supplies to cookware, and other essentials. Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish, and the property felt more like staying in a well-loved family home than a typical rental.While the house is on the smaller side, it is incredibly well designed and laid out. It’s especially well suited for families, with thoughtful safety features for younger children, and a fantastic game room that kept the teens entertained (They stayed up as late as they wanted without bothering anyone :) There is ample parking that accommodated our truck, trailer, car, and a side-by-side. We also appreciated the regular pool maintenance: it was serviced twice during our week long stay. For anyone visiting, we would recommend renting a golf cart for trips to the beach.Overall, this property exceeded our expectations and provided a comfortable, family-friendly experience. We would absolutely recommend it and would gladly stay here again.

We have rented dozens of beach houses over the years and everyone in our party agreed this is the best house we’ve ever stayed at! While it is a (short) drive to the beach the fantastic pool and outdoor space more than make up for it. We loved the basketball hoop and comfy sitting ledge in the pool. The lounge chairs were high quality and comfortable. The pool house was so much fun, my teenagers loved the air hockey table and arcade. We loved the outdoor lighting allowing us to enjoy the pool in the evening.The house was very clean and the most well appointed I’ve come across. Everything you need is provided, from dishes and pots and pans to dishwasher tabs, trash bags, paper towels and toilet paper. There were even beach towels in the linen closets. We appreciated the provided linen service and arriving to made beds. Tom was an excellent host, very kind and helpful and available for any questions or concerns. We really enjoyed our time at Descanso Oaks and hope to return soon!
