Our wonderful Vrbo visit to Newport Beach was made possible by the amazing accommodations we had at a lovely beach home its owners decidedly nicknamed tongue-in-cheek The Shack. Our check-in was smooth and easy. Upon entering the house we were greeted by a chalkboard message on the kitchen island welcoming us by name. Next to the chalkboard was a scrumptious pile of homemade chocolate chip cookies and a bottle of cab that our host, Pam left for our arrival. Her house had every amenity we could have ever asked for. The entire home is beautifully decorated, the kitchen fully equipped, and nice thoughtful touches everywhere. We visited in February so it was quite a treat to flip on the gas log fireplace to arrest the morning Newport Beach chill with a cup of coffee in hand. Soon later the sun would start to penetrate the clouds and burn off the fog signaling it was time to head up to the third-floor rooftop deck with a good book in hand for some rays, more coffee, and a leisurely morning under the sun. And by the way, the rooftop deck is also perfect for sunset happy hour with ample comfy seating, fire table, and a view towards the beach just a couple of blocks away. Yes, it was hard to check-out on our day of departure because we were totally in a SoCal groove and it was hard to say goodbye. But it really wasn’t a goodbye so much as it was see you again soon at The Shack.Jim & SuzanneIllinois
