Great location, on the Bowery edge of the madding crowds of SoHo & Village. Tiny one bedroom but good design. Just don’t expect to get what you paid for: breakfast pastries ran out, public areas were frequently booked for private events and thus unavailable. Staff was nice but underwhelming: a 2 am fire alarm was unpleasant, not technically the staffs fault. But my entire hall was standing in their underwear trying to figure out what to do with no direction from staff. When my partner went down to check, the front desk was chatting away with no sense of needing to explain to guests it was a false alarm. Finally, be very very careful of the long, winding, unlit, pitted, gutted and wrecked concrete of the alley entrance. I badly sprained my ankle walking out one night (fully sober and in low heeled boots at the time). It’s all just a bit too haphazard.
