From the moment we arrived we were greeted with our host, who showed us all the wonderful amenities, making sure everything was to our liking. We had plenty of peace, but could easily reach our hosts if it was needed. The place is AMAZING! It was the perfect place to recharge after exploring the city. Our guests provided great recommendations (Go to Mandina's across the street). Definitely recommend visiting here!

The best NOLA getaway

We had an amazing time at Lesterland in NOLA. We take weekend trips to NOLA often and usually stay near the French Quarter but decided to branch out a little further and I'm so glad we did! It was so easy to get to where we wanted to be with the trolley or bike rentals or Ubera (but the trolley was the best experience) plus we found out that midtown has just as much charm as the French quarter. Our car stayed parked the whole time. We had amazing hosts, greeted with snacks and all sorts of useful information - from restaurant recommendations to how to use the projector, everything we needed was right at our fingertips. I'm a details person and usually have a million questions for the hosts but Doody literally covered everything before I even asked. She truly goes above and beyond to provide a relaxed, enjoyable stay. And the private heater pool..... Just perfect! The entire place was in great condition, super clean, stocked with everything we need, comfortable beds, plenty of pillows & towels... I could go on and on. You name it, they had it. We will definitely be returning!! Thank you Doody & Brady

We loved our stay!

Such a gorgeous, spacious home with really cool, unique architecture & features. Very comfortable seating & beds - I find that's not always the case with such stylish spaces. The host was excellent in her communication & made us feel very welcomed. Couldn't believe we had chilled bubbly waiting for us when we arrived! Great location. Several delicious restaurants walkable, within a couple blocks. I highly recommend Rosella! So good we ate there twice! Quick drive to everything, including the French Quarter.

What a fun house!

This home was the perfect location for our family vacation. Just a few short blocks away you can catch the trolly that takes you to all the action of Bourbon St, the aquarium and everything in between. You can tell the home is so loved and the hosts make you feel welcomed. Every detail about the home was so thought out! Everyone in our group (that ranged in ages from 13-65) enjoyed everything about our stay at The Porch House.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Porch House. Doody was great with communication throughout the whole stay. The house had everything we needed. The pool was a great added bonus for the heat in August! The beds were comfortable and so many lighting options was great. The neighborhood had great food options and easily walkable to more and to public transportation. Doody and Brady also provide many wonderful recommendations. Highly recommend staying here!

Amazing NOLA Stay

What an amazing stay! This house, neighborhood, and host were perfect. The house is immaculate and every detail has been thoughtfully delivered. The neighborhood is quiet but also perfect. So much good food and nightlife. Check out Vessel for a really unique experience. And the hosts are amazing. Really went out of their way to make our stay outstanding. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Great spot! You won't regret it.

Communication from start to end great, space is awesome, amenities are perfect, safe/fun location, comfy bed, great place to chill during a stormy day or come back to after a long day out. Pool was nice place to relax. Such a nice retreat in an amazing city. Also because my husband has limited mobility due to a leg injury, I just wanted to note: limited stairs with great rails, walk in shower, easy beds to get in and out of. Pool doesn’t have a railing and sectional couch is pretty low and hard to get in and out of. But there are other seating options.

If you’re trying to decide if this is the listing for you, let me assure you that it is!! From the moment we booked the place, Doody was simply amazing!! She kept in touch and made sure to communicate everything beforehand that we would need to know. Once we arrived, she greeted us and gave us a tour of the place! The work that has been put into the house by her and her spouse, is something that we were fascinated by!! Everything was amazing. So amazing that we barely left the property. I’m now obsessed with lights, projectors, and surround sound systems. 😂 and don’t even get me started on the pool. It was so warm and relaxing!! We cannot wait to go back for another relaxing weekend in the future. Thank yall so much!

Eclectic Luxury

The interior design mix of old and new, fancy and simple, was a very nice touch. Bedding was extremely comfortable. It was a quick ride on the streetcar to get downtown to the French Quarter. Lots of conveniences within walking distance such as restaurants, Walgreens and a grocery store. The sculpture garden near the museum was also a quick ride on the streetcar. Individual climate control for 3 different rooms was just super. Love the big screen in the living room. I think that we would go back a stay at this same place again. It really was that good.

Even better than expected!

We have stayed in VRBO’s all over the country. This one was by far the best! It’s so well outfitted ~ Doody and Brady have thought of everything! And the TV!! Whoever says we don’t need a TV has not experienced entertainment as it’s set up at this place ~ we enjoyed it so much! The beds are super comfortable and the apt is beautiful. Can’t wait to go back again!

A Wonderful Experience

Everything was perfect, from our arrival to our departure. The property is clean, historic and comfortable with so many amenities. The owners are very responsive, helpful and friendly. The pool is very warm, the porches are perfect for relaxing, the property is perfectly located away from the loud party scene, but close enough to easily get to where you want to be. We loved that the property was so quiet and surrounded by fabulous restaurants and attractions. Stay with the upmost of confidence that you will have no regret in your choice!

The Porch House

The Porch House checks all the boxes. The Canal St streetcar to the French Quarter is 1 block away and Ubers are plentiful. We never waited more than 5 minutes for an Uber and were able to get anywhere we wanted to go within 20 minutes. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance. We ate at Mandina's, Katie's, and Blue Oak BBQ during our 1 week stay and recommend all three. We did our grocery shopping at Rouses Market only a 2 minute drive away. The store is very nice. The neighborhood is quiet and felt very safe. No need to worry about your car with off street parking at your front door. The home is exactly as described. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our Christmas dinner. The beds are very comfortable. The towels and linens are very clean and high quality. The hosts are friendly and responsive. If we return to New Orleans, this is where we will stay.

Seriously do yourself a favor and just stop looking for anywhere else to stay! This home kept getting better every single day while we stayed. The hosts are warm fantastic kind folks who had us feeling like we were extended family. I am someone who is notorious in my family for being difficult to please when it comes to the cleanliness of a space. This Host Home felt like I had cleaned it myself! Fantastic.
