The kids loved the place, they didn’t want to leave, huge space with swings, hammock, treehouse, and best of all peace and the hot tub pool. The outside patio areas were so nice. We will definitely be back. The staff was super timely. We have been staying in different homes around the area of Wimberely since 2020 and this is at the top for our family of 5.

Five of us gathered for our annual reading retreat, and this property was the perfect backdrop for relaxation and girl time. The host was incredibly responsive to all of my planning questions, and the house was warm and accommodating. We cooked, read, napped, laughed, and explored. We thoroughly enjoyed the wraparound porch, the hot tub, the cozy sitting area downstairs, and the close access to Wimberley's cutest restaurants and shops. Would absolutely stay here again!

In December, so it takes a while for the hot tub to heat up, but it works, and was enjoyed. The pool pump ran 24 hours which as a annoying in such a quiet setting. The fireplace worked, it was fun. The rooms are not as big as they seem on line, but the house was very nice. We ate outside once, very nice under the lights, especially if you BBQ. We saw deer, fox, cats, goats, turkeys, chickens, and more. Ice maker and fridge water were not working, ice trays were provided! Would stay again!

We came in for a wedding with two families. Great outdoor space for groups to hang out. The pool was perfect for a hot day in Whimberly. Close drive or walk into the Whimberly square. A few items that were addressed were fixed right away from the management company.

Beautiful and comfortable, we loved this home. The pool, the hot tub, the wild life we saw on the property ( deer, armadillo, lizards, and gorgeous butterflies) made our stay especially memorable.

Great Place!

We rented this home for the weekend to celebrate my son’s college graduation, and it was the perfect choice. The house was clean, comfortable, and peaceful — exactly what we were hoping for.The pool was a great bonus, especially for cooling off in the warm weather. The surrounding area is beautiful and relaxing, with the river nearby adding to the charm. One of the highlights was waking up each morning to see deer running across the property on their way to the river — such a peaceful and unique touch.Overall, this was a great place to stay for a special family weekend. We truly enjoyed our time here and would gladly come back in the future.

We had a wonderful time staying at this house! The house is spacious and has huge dining areas inside and outside for big meals. The kitchen was very well equipped with cooking tools and pots and pans. Pool was beautiful and everything was clean and ready for us when we got there! Definitely recommend.

NYE Getaway

The house was perfect for our group. Super close to Wimberley Square and H-E-B, which was nice. The house was clean and accommodated all our needs. Property manager also very easy to get into contact with when we needed help turning on the hot tub. Downstairs water never got hot but we just took turns upstairs. One room was advertised as only having a twin bed, but it actually ended up being a Queen which was perfect! We will for sure be back.

NO RIVER ACCESS

Two families (ten people) ages 8-50 booked this place just after Christmas to have a little hill country getaway because it listed that there was river access across the street. It was a focus of the trip to walk down there with the littler kids in the mornings to do a little fishing with uncles and cousins. There is actually NO real access at all. I mean, you can go where they tell you and immediately get into the water - but it is all private property on either side of the bridge. When we tried to address this with them they told us that we should just fish off of the bridge - but there are signs saying that is not allowed. It is very clear from the signs and fences that no one is supposed to be there. The company is not taking any responsibility for this misrepresentation. Clearly they market it as having river access bc not only is it in the listing, but when we contacted them about where to go (bc we saw all the no trespassing signs and assumed we were just in the wrong place) they responded with maps and pictures saying that was the place that had access. I then got a message a day early saying we needed to be out by 10am. No one responded to my messages - so we left. Still haven’t heard from them about what is going on. Sure hope they give us our money back for that last night. Have a complaint with VRBOThe property is also pretty old and tired. I can see how it was once nice, but they aren’t cleaning it well or fixing things. Not worth the money.

Nice stay

We had a pretty good time. The owners got a little carried away with the label maker. There was a long list of rules, but they probably had to be stated because there probably were past guest that weren't as considerate as they should’ve been. Over all, it was a great value and we had a good time.

Great Memories for our Family

Our family recently lost the elder male of our tribe. Deciding to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday with our family at this beautiful home was a great decision. The spacious and functional home was second to the deck and pool/hot tub combo. The home facilitated fun and great memories for our family but also healing. Maybe that is why it is called the Shepherd House?

Great Outdoor Living Space

The house needs some TLC for the nightly price. Ice maker hasn’t worked in sometime yet they took time to laminate the sign , just fix the issues, hot and cold water reversed, another easy fix, master fan doesn’t work, another easy fix, sinks clogged don’t drain while using them, house seems run down & we have stayed at many homes on Flite Acres, beautiful street and area!
