I know Mongolian gers quite well now. These yurts in the desert to the north of Uzbekistan are similarly constructed from layers of felt around poles. The inside is decorated very sparsely with thin mattresses on the carpet.
I had it noted as Nurata Desert, while this marker appears to be a nearby town. We were well over towards to the lake to the north. The yurts are not unlike the gers from where I live in Mongolia, although the small differences are many. The desert gets cooler at night but the yurts stayed way too hot. #colorful
