A group of 6 friends stayed here July 8th thru 12th. The owner told me she would contact me a few days before arrival . Nothing. I emailed her 2 days before arrival. Nothing. I called her the day before arrival . She hadn't seen the email and was going to contact me the night before arrival! This was my warning sign. I asked if that wasn't a little late? She seemed unfazed. I asked if we could drop our bags off around noon and return around 2pm or 3pm? Lisa allowed us to drop off our bags early so we each picked out a room and walked down the block for lunch and a few cold ones. Came back around 3pm to find Lisa cleaning the house. She said she wasn't done yet but we said the place looked ok( we saw her as soon as we walked in the door). Lisa left and we wanted to relax a bit before meeting another group of our friends downtown for the evening.
Shortly after we discovered the kitchen counter with ants and ant traps ( the dollar store kind) , the toaster with crumbs all over the top and toaster oven filled with crumbs . Front bedroom, dining room and tv area filled with cobwebs, dirty light fixtures and the leather couch filled with dirt and crumbs between the cushions. We had to wash the table in the back yard because it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while.
I didn't call Lisa because one of our couples was only staying 2 nights and we didn't want to be bothered during our stay. We were supposed to be home by 2:30pm on Wednsday so I felt I could get in touch with Lisa when I got home and request my cleaning fee be refunded. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed for nearly 9 hours so we ended up going back downtown instead of just sitting at the airport. I had to be at work at 2:45 am on Thursday so I was too tired to call. Friday my mother in law had major heart issues ( had open heart surgery just 3 months ago). Needless to say I didn't find time to contact Lisa for a week and a half after our return. Lisa was upset that I didn't contact her during our stay or immediately after our return home. She told me her Professional Cleaning Person could not make it before we arrived due to her husbands heart issues but she would have had a different Professional Cleaning crew come in if we wanted. I'm sorry, Professional Cleaning crews don't leave spider webs and dust everywhere. The condition of this house told us the house rarely gets a deep cleaning. Lisa also stated she uses a Professional Exterminator! Yes, from the Dollar Store!
