The location of the property is fantastic. It's a large house so everyone was extremely comfortable. The beach access was great, and the weather was wonderful for late December. Would recommend this property especially for large groups.

Pretty much a great week. One issue we had was we lost hot water for two days. I understand these things happen but I was not getting updates from the property mgmt team and had to continue calling them to get a response. With this we couldn't shower or do dishes the last day we were there. I felt an offer of a credit would have been nice but received not even an 'I'm sorry for the inconvenience' message

Spring break get away

Disappointing

The house is nice. Good layout. Comfortable beds. Kees is the property manager. We called at 6 pm to report no soap, dishwasher pods, hand towels, etc. No response until following afternoon. So we had to go buy all that. The house needs a deep cleaning. No soap in the bathrooms- dispensers empty. Power outage Fri night caused alarm to trigger. Juan with Kees very helpful. Vivian with Keys is a problem. After being on the phone with someone for 20 minutes trying to fix it, got a call from Vivian which starts the call with “I need to know more than an alarm is going off. She was rude until I told her I had spent all that time on the phone and given the person all of the details. It took a couple of hours to resolve. The kitchen supplies are cheap, old and gross. Furniture stained badly. While the house was nice, I wouldn’t stay here again. Second bad experience I have had with Kees property management so I’d steer clear of them as well.

An amazing place to stay!

We had 16 people ranging from 5 months old to 70 years old and this house was perfect for a large group - plenty of space for all. All the amenities were utilized - the beach, pool, movie theater room and the game room. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had an issue with the 2nd floor air conditioner and the property management company was very easy to work with.

Not well maintained Dirty and had roaches

The house is very nice. But not we’ll taken care of. The first hour we arrived the toilet in the third level overflowed to the second floor bathroom. We found a dirty diaper underneath the bed, The basement level had roaches. They were in the dishwasher and under the couch. The carpets in the rooms were stained. The couches were dirty and torn. The refrigerator had missing shelves. The fireplace was broken. The grill was dirty beyond use. I could deal with everything but the roaches. I’m so afraid I may have taken one home. If you stay at this property please check your bags

Fantastic OBX family reunion,

Very clean. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and cookware. There are 9 king sized en-suite rooms, plus a “bunk room” with two single over double bunk sets, also with bathroom. The pool was a big hit and the beach access is excellent. We had a problem with the TV at the end of the week. Overall a wonderful stay for our large family.

Not clean

We arrived and had to wait 45 minutes to get into the house. The cleaning crew was not close to being finished, but did the best they could to get it done. They also brought in extra workers to help. We started to move in anyway. The cleaning crew was super apologetic, but said it was the worst mess they walked into to clean after a group. They also said there was a wedding before us and they had to do so much picking up and rearranging of furniture before they could even get to the cleaning. The outdoor furniture was very much in a disarray, cushions torn etc. Inside sectional on main living space torn. Blinds in bunk room are shredded. We made a “short list” of some of the other issues. No tp in any of the bathrooms Bathrooms not clean Food on bedroom floors Hair in bunk room Fruit loops under bed Wads of Tp on floor in 1/2 bathroom Not enough towels in the bedrooms Twin sheets and towels in the washer unwashed Refrigerator shelves missing and/or broken Soap dispensers not filled. Hole in screen on third floor street view bedroom Again, the cleaning crew did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. They were very apologetic and very accommodating. We really felt bad for them. We were also concerned that it would appear that we left the house in this condition.

Our Stay at Sweet Carolina

The property was perfect for our group. There was no shortage of room, the kitchen and great room were wonderfully spacious. We could easily all hang out in that space while socializing or preparing and eating meals. The lounge room, as we referred to it, was plenty big enough to accommodate us all and was a great place to gather to play some pool, shuffleboard, do a little dancing, and watch movies in the theater. The back yard is also large and made it easy to have our pet with us. It was big enough to set up our croquet set and play some catch as well. The fire pit is a very nice evening and night time gathering spot. Access to the beach was awesome and so easy. That was probably the highlight for everyone as there was always fishing going on, sand castle building, and kite flying. And the elevator was very useful for getting food and beverages up to the top floor. A couple of suggestions; the AV gear could use some instructions sheets as how to connect and what's available. Music was a big part of our time there and it would have been nice to be able to connect in an easier fashion; the kitchen could use a few more implements like scissors and a few more knives. Overall, we were very pleased with the accommodations, the spaciousness, and the proximity to amenities and stores. A great place for large gatherings and access to the beach. We loved it!

Beautiful house for multiple families

The house is beautiful and great for multiple families with 10 bedrooms (each with it's own bathroom). The family room overlooks the ocean for a fantastic back drop. While there is an elevator, the house spans 3 flights of steps from main floor to the top where the kitchen and family room are and after while it became tiring to walk up and down (especially for my dog). It is not for the faint of heart. Walking from the backyard to the beach was convenient, again with another flight of stairs. Overall I give this property an "A" and would recommend it.

Great house in a great location

I rented the house for 6 days for a workplace staff retreat. We had 12 adults in the house. The house is one of the few that have a lot of rooms so this is nice. Each room has its own bathroom so no one needed to share. The location can't be beat. It's super close to the malls, Wright brothers museum, Jockey's Ridge, some great restaurants, and of course...the beach. The house is in very good condition. The kitchen was fantastic. 2 stoves, 2 microwaves, 2 ovens, 2 refrigerators! This made it great to cook all our meals. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the game room was fantastic. Communication with the management was excellent. The only gripes were minor....the gas tanks for both outdoor grills were empty, the pool waterfall didn't seem to work, and the projector in the movie room didn't work at all (dead bulb). These had minimal impact on our stay and overall I'd gladly return to the property.

Very nice accommodations and lovely outdoor area with pool and fire pit. A lot of bedrooms, each with own bath. A lot of steps - elevator was essential. Kitchen could be better equipped - and needs a good deep cleaning - especially windows. Overall was great. Cabana service was wonderful.

I would have given 5 stars but we ran out of gas in the middle of cooking breakfast and we didn’t get gas or hot water until 7-7:30 that evening. Very inconvenient. Also, the floors in the bathrooms were very dirty. A couple of the people complained about their bathrooms. The house is gorgeous, but it looks as though the cleaning crew just straightens up vs. cleans. We had a great time in the house. We only suggest making sure there is plenty gas before guest arrival and hiring a new cleaning crew.

Beautiful Property

Great beach house, only problem was the pool heat stopped the third day. Arrived Thursday pool was being filled, so cold water. Friday was great, Saturday no water coming from jets and no heat. Called Kees, who said pool man would come, but never saw anyone. Pinball and golf game not working. Would be helpful if house came with a book explaining how everything worked.

Beautiful Property - Not so great management

The great: Beautiful view, home is basically brand new, large space for families, 3 dishwashers, 3 fridges, movie theater room is EXCELLENT, all rooms are master suites (with the exception of the bunk bed rooms) so everyone wins, short walk right up to the beach and beautiful views. The not so great: When we arrived, all of the lights on the decks and patios were burnt out. We also noticed the fireplace wasn't working. We called management that night (around 5:30 - 6) to say that we wanted someone to come fix the lights and the fireplace. They said they would send someone out ASAP. No one arrived and we called back again 3 more times the next morning asking for someone to come fix the fireplace. It's November in the OBX, what else are you doing besides drinking/eating in your house and enjoying the views with a warm fireplace? Finally about 2 hours later, a very nice maintenance man shows up to replace all of the bulbs and informed us that the fireplace is out of service and they had to order a new part. We were pretty angry - we booked this house for many reasons but the fireplace was definitely one of them. Management made no mention that the fireplace was completely out of service and said nothing in the 4 times that i called. When you spend a lot of money for a 3 night stay in a brand new house, you expect the facilities to be in working order, ESPECIALLY the fireplace for a home stay in November. Was frustrating to say the least - let alone going our first of only 3 nights at this property with no working lights on the back decks.
