Staff helpful and friendly. Dining options good tasting food reasonably priced. Quaint historic property. Note: many stairs no elevators, make sure to request and confirm first floor or ADA IF NEEDED.

The property is beautiful. The porch has an amazing view of the lake. We were not impressed with the room. I understand that the hotel is historic and rooms will would basic. However, the dust around the baseboards and bed frame was an inch thick. The bathroom was clean but we had a spider issue. I killed 5 spiders on the sink. The mattress on the bed was so old it sagged in the middle. The bed frame squeaked. It squeaked if you sat, lied or rolled over. Our room was in the main building on the end. An air conditioner unit outside the bathroom made noise most of the night. We did let the management know that we were unhappy with the room. The Inn could be exceptional with a few fixes: beds, dusting and pest control. The Inns property is beautiful it’s too bad the rooms are not.

i expected a normal queen size bed; did not understand that they were full size. the carpet and bedding and curtains and doors all need an upgrade. even though this is a historic hotel it needs major upgrades !

The location of this property is great. Right in the center of shopping and dining. The view of the lake is beautiful. Because it is an old property, you can definitely feel it. It smells old, the carpet is old and dirty. It would be great if slippers were provided because we can’t walk barefoot or with socks on, it was that dirty. There’s no microwave or refrigerator in the room, not even a chair. I wouldn’t go back again.

Great Inn! It has a vintage feel and it is clean. We had breakfast on the porch and went for a sunset cruise. Best getaway we have had in a while.

Location was great with a short walk to everything. Outside of buildings was lovely with a wonderful view of the lake. Buildings are old and the carpet in our bedroom was very dirty. Receptionist said they are going to be cleaned or replaced. Staff were wonderful and the bartender "Trip" was amazing. He is kind, responsive, knowledgeable, funny and professional.

This Inn was built in the 1930's, the windows are still from the 1930's and have been painted and caulked shut. the painting work leave much to be desired. Our windows had termites in them, our carpeting was very old and had rolls in it and our tub needed to be refinished. We had no chair and no table in our room as pictured. Our TV would not come on with the remote and had to be turned off and on from the back, our air conditioner would stick and not work at times, and we awoke at one point in the night and it was 80 degrees took us several minutes of hitting the remote to get it to come back on and adjust. The grounds have beautiful trees, and it is picturesque, overlooking the lake. The beds however are not well kept and many have weeds, we went to sit in the pavilion by the lake but the benches were so dirty that we did not. There was however quite a bit of lounge seating by the pool. We had a meal there and it was very good, we found the staff to be very polite, very welcoming and accommodating. The location is excellent, no car needed to go to the downtown and shop, enjoy the parks and history. The area had quite a nice selection of various restaurants that would fit a wide variety of tastes and wallets, all within walking distance. It is very family oriented and found individuals of all ages. There are no elevators and quite a few stairs to navigate. The rooms need to be updated, the accent paint colors do not go with anything else and stand out like a sore thumb.

Air conditioner in our room leaked water on the rug overnight. When desk staff was alerted the next morning they had maintenance put 2 towels over the wet area and that’s how it stayed until we checked out the next day. The bar isn’t good. We ordered a White Russian - it tasted awful so we sent it back and asked for a kahlua sombrero. We were told they had no kahlua ( which explains why the White Russian looked and tasted terrible.) At breakfast at 9 am the next morning I chose bagel and cream cheese from the menu. The waitress said «  I think there was only 1 cream cheese left and it might be gone. » We asked for a straw for the iced coffee and we were told they’d see if they had some. Luckily they did —we were considering offering to go to the store for them.

The only redeeming qualities of this hotel were its location and the grounds. The hotel room itself was simply awful. The toilet would overflow if you flushed it, the tv sat atop a dresser which was about the only surface atea in the room, but if you put something on the dresser you couldn’t see the tv. The rug was wrinkled and disgusting, and the only way to get into or out of the room was with 2 hands. One for the actual key And one to turn the knob. The price was ridiculous for what that room offered I’d rate the room with “0” if I could.

Michael in Maintenance was most helpful. At check-in he offered to carry our bags upstairs. We discovered the TV remote wasn’t working properly. He replaced it within minutes. Later in our stay we notified the desk of a clogged sink drain. Michael investigated and extracted a mini tube of toothpaste loged in the drain. The staff at the Reception desk were friendly and welcoming throughout our 4 day stay.
