Host was very responsive and the view was amazing. As stated in other reviews the house and furniture were dated. This is not the ritz and you do have stairs but we truly enjoyed our stay. Beach was very accessible (yes lots of stairs) we felt it was good value for the price. The pool and hot tub looked great but we didn’t use them. A couple of notes I have not seen in other reviews, linens are provided but you make your own beds when you get there. They do that so you know the sheets are clean and no big deal but you need to realize this if you get in late. Also they only allow single ply TP as they are on septic. Again no big deal but if you bring extra you should know this in advance. Our dog loved the house and especially the top deck so she could see everything and of course the beach

Here’s a few things to note during our stay we noticed- wasps nests on the side of the house when you’re in the outdoors shower, look up. There were tons of wasps along the stairs walking up to the house. - the door to the bathroom was dirty when we arrived, there was leftover sunscreen smeared and whatever else from previous people- there were so many flies, especially in our bathroom and bedroom when we got there. We got bit up at night. We ended up renting another place the last night because they got so bad. - the fridge was dirty and had spilled liquids from the previous people. As well as a bunch of left over food from previous people. - ants were running all over the counters and tables when we got there the first day. - a board on the board walk was loose and popped up (after the path directly to your house, right after where it connects, it popped up when we stepped on it.)- I pulled out a “clean fork” out of the drawer the first morning and it was so dirty.- the board walk is shared, and very raggedy so not as nice. Other than that, the pool and hot tub were nice. We contacted the host about these issues and received no compensation so I’m giving my honest review here.

My husband, two dogs and I stayed here for the 6th year in a row. The house is on the ocean and has a pool. Enough said. The Hess family is excellent with communication. We had good weather for the two weeks we stayed at Ocean Panorama. We love this house!

The house has beautiful views. We enjoyed the privacy and ease of beach access. The beach was not crowded. Host was always available and responsive. We had no complaints. Look forward to future stays!

Location of house to the ocean was terrific.Pool was wonderfully refreshing.Kitchen utensil's, ice cube trays, baking sheets were in bad shape.Not provided - trash bags, foil, pot scrubbers, beach towels & extra toilet paper, People might want to know:34 steps (up/down) to walk on the wood boardwalk to the beach. People with mobility challenges should know this.33 steps from 1st level (driveway/pool) to 3rd level (kitchen/living-room)...is challenging to bring luggage/food into the house.

Pros: The views are absolutely stunning and the pool and hot tub are a great bonus and wellmaintained. The beach is quiet and not too crowded. Check in process was good and seamless. Cons: House definitely could use some TLC especially on the inside. We had a hard time with the outside shower. Beds and furniture not too comfortable. We couldn't get the TV in the master bedroom to work. All in all the views and pool were great. Would probably not go back to this particular house but it was our first time using VRBO for renting in the Emerald Isle area. Glad we gave it a try!

Respite before wedding...

We were looking for a week of R&R before our daughter's wedding the following weekend. Liked the location and view most of all -- lots of birds on the beach and in the reserve. Quiet neighbors and relatively few people on the beach. Nice to have the pool and hot tub as the ocean was pretty rough during our stay. Great beach walks. Host was quick to respond when we had question/issue with the hot tub. House is as advertised.

Fabulous views!

This was our second time staying at Ocean Panorama. The house is in a great location. The views are amazing. We all enjoyed the pool area and hot tub as well as the beach. The house is stocked with almost everything we needed. The owner is great at communication. It was hard to leave.

Beach stay

Lovely view of the ocean

We really enjoyed walking on the beach with our doggie. The house has huge windows right onto decks and the ocean. I was able to have coffee on the top deck, then another time, just enjoy the sun - before the big snow storm! Thanks, Dan, for your wonderful communication.

Our private fun getaway

This property has everything! A pool, oceanfront, and very private. We also could bring our dog, who is part of the family. They host was great! Lots of places to go to eat and see, if you want to. A perfect place just to sit and relax and watch the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We definitely recommend it.

Ocean Getaway

My husband, two dogs and I enjoyed another great stay at Ocean Panorama. The house meets our needs perfectly. We love the views, the pool and proximity to the beach. Dan Hess is an excellent host. This was our 5th year staying here. We love it!

Great location.... Great stay... Awesome beach!!!

We recently stayed and we loved our vacation. While the house is a little older and the decor could use an update, it didn't take away from how much we enjoyed our vacation. The house is perfectly located between a condo complex and an reserve which means that you basically get the beach to yourself. The complex is far enough away that no one seems to come down far enough to make the beach crowded. In the week we were there, we were often one of 4 or 5 groups on the beach. The pool was great to have for the kids and gave us a break from the beach when the kids wanted a change of scenery. The owner, Dave, was awesome. We had a couple hiccups during our stay that were out of his control, but he did he best to help us fix the issues and enjoy our trip. In the end, we loved our time in Indian Beach and would come back again.

1st beach week with our dog

We stay on this island all the time each summer- usually at Atlantic beach but sometimes Emerald Isle or Indian beach. This year was our first needing a dog friendly place and we loved it here! The balcony/porch was by far my favorite place to be as I could sit and soak in the views and sounds of the ocean without getting sandy if I wanted to have a break from the beach itself- always had some shade and always with a breeze. my husband would say the pool was his favorite- and the main reason we chose this house over others- he really wanted the luxury of a private pool. He especially loved the long float to just lay on and chill. The house has lots light and space which I loved. It’s a much quicker walk to the beach than the picture suggests. Very quiet beachfront -near a big condominium building where there were always a ton of people when the weather was good but there was a huge gap between them and us. With a teen, having a smart TV was imperative so we could watch Netflix or prime video at night or when the weather wasn’t great. There are a lot of stairs- so be wary if limited mobility- but I found it a good way to get more exercise on the quieter days. We have a family member with crutches and he did fine- got in some strength training with them and there’s a railing all the way. Never used the hot tub (it’s summer in NC, so no need to be hotter). Easy communication with Dan. Would absolutely stay here again and 100% recommend!

Lovely home close to everything

We had an amazing stay! The pool and hot tub were highlights. Ocean views from the decks were spectacular! We walked to the dollar general just about every day since it was right across the street. We did t want to leave!
