Mice, Filth, and a Refused Refund.We left within hours of arriving due to unacceptable conditions. The house had a strong odor coming from the stove, and upon opening the stove’s drawer, we found both dead and live mice. The property was also visibly dirty—cobwebs, bugs, and dust made it clear it had not been cleaned before our arrival.When we requested a refund, the host declined and instead offered to “come get the mice” the following morning, rather than arranging proper cleaning or extermination. They also tried to downplay the situation by insisting we just didn’t understand what “living on the water” is like, which is not the case. We did not feel safe or comfortable staying in these conditions.In addition, the next-door neighbor’s porch was only about 10 yards from our back porch, which meant very little privacy. The neighbor repeatedly tried to get us to do shots with him whenever we stepped outside.We’ve never written a negative review before, but based on this experience, I cannot recommend this property.

Cottage had a few issues, worst being sewer system backed up. Christine communicated well with us to come to a resolution.

Great little cottage!

We really enjoyed our trip, the little ones loved the beach and throwing stones in and swimming. The adults enjoyed the opportunity to unwind in this slice of heaven. We had an initial "issue" with one of the neighbors allowing their dog to roam free when we had a dog also with us but Christine took care of it promptly and for the most part the neighbor complied. We only had one situation where the dog came over but we were able to get it off the property without incident. Christine thank you for sharing your home with us, my 3 year old grandson loved the lake!

Over priced for what you get.

Had to drive through a huge impression and deep water in the road to get to the cottage. Inside in dire need of a paint job. Walls and wood were full of dirt, chips, and gouges. Furniture was dirty and had soiled spots. One pillow had blood on it. Towels provided were old and well worn. Windows were full of bugs and FILTHY. One bedroom had curtains that did not fit the windows providing NO PRIVACY from the very close neighbor next door. Some of the shades were broken as well. THEN...in her instructions for your stay, you are required to wash the bedding and towels, clean the grill and take out the garbage. I don't go on vacation to pay 500.00 a night to do YOUR job after your renter leaves. Pictures didn't match what you find when you get there.

Epic Lake Swimming

This small cottage was everything we needed. Great swimming for our kids and golden retriever. Caught smallmouth bass from the dock. Owner is very responsive. Also recommend Filmore Glen SP, Tom Thumb, and Lake Owasco Brewing.

Chilling on the Lake

We attended a May wedding nearby so decided to rent via VRBO rather than the expensive hotel rates around college graduation time. Very pleasant stay in spite of being off season. Our dog played on the beach and in the water with the neighbors friendly young dog. Located alongside a brook which was peaceful as you can hear the water coming down to the bottom of the hill and into the lake. Enjoyed nearby Filmore Glenn for hiking and seeing the beautiful water falls. Plenty of nearby wineries plus a brewery less than a mile away. Christine our sponsor was very responsive to any of our needs, including quickly remedying an unforeseen septic issue. We were so impressed we booked another camp through her in a few months.

Sit back and relax

What a great property this was for myself and 3 friends! Great cottage on the lake with a relaxing peaceful lake view! The cottage itself was very clean, well stocked and spacious! The owner , Christine, was quick with responses to questions and extremely accommodating! None of us wanted to leave! Perfectly relaxing in every way!

Lake House Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The lake access can’t be beat - we spent time there every day - the beach area made it easy for kids to wade/swim. Check in/out instructions were clear and Christine was reachable when needed! There was plenty to do in the area - we are already thinking about our next trip to the Finger Lakes!

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay. The house was perfect! I really loved the sun porch.The host was always just a text away. We had a washer/dryer as well as a dishwasher. Apparently the washer needed to be replaced from the last rental and low and behold it was sent immediately and set up. The beach front was lovely.It is rocky so wear your water shoes! We had plenty of opportunity to swim. The water was clean. The house is in a small pvt community. We had our privacy and the locals were nice. The kitchen was well appointed. I am looking forward to next year

Great Place

The cottage was very neat and clean. Everything was provided [ except for food and drinks] and the kitchen was well equipped with everything. Plenty of parking for vehicles and trailers. The boat launch was a short trip across the lake. We would do it again.

This is by far the best equipped vacation rental I've ever stayed in. It is charmingly decorated, and has a wonderful kitchen. The week we stayed was rainy but that just made the waterfalls better. DO NOT miss nearby Fillmore Glenn State Park's gorge trail. Out of all the beautiful sights we saw, that was not only the most beautiful, but the most accessable trail, and it's only about 20 minutes south.
