Wonderful view

The view was breathtaking! We could see the beach as well as the harbor side. The condo was nice and clean. Even had a golf cart to ride around the resort! I would definitely give a 10 out of 10!

Nice View

Condo had an excellent view. Nice balcony, seating and table. Grounds were very nicely taken care of and manicure. Beach and water was beautiful.. Golf cart was a nice amenity to have to easily get around to and from the village. Was disappointed to get charged additional fee when playing golf because we weren’t staying with the actual resort. Given the amount of golf we played might reconsider that next time. Our son tried to sleep on the pullout sofa, but it was like most pullout sofas, very uncomfortable. He slept the rest of the week on top of the couch. Our mattress on our bed wasn’t great either. The kitchen was well appointed with nice pots and pans and full-size refrigerator that made lots of ice! Washer and dryer in the room was also nice to have.

Unsatisfied experience

Family of 4 stayed here last week and we were very unsatisfied. The only positive was the golf cart. We had issues with the sinks, water being constantly shut off and the unit was not equipped to accommodate 4 people(2 being kids). The sleeper sofa was falling apart and there were no blankets. I spent most of my vacation on the phone with the property management company, my vacation haven, to fix these issues which never ended up getting fixed. The resort itself, beach and building were great but I'd never stay in this unit again or any other unit managed by my vacation haven.

It was fine.

The place is fine. Certainly not terrible. But certainly not a dream come true. The unit is very small. There are mirrors on walls to make it look bigger than it is. The bathroom is very large, unnecessarily large for such a small unit overall. The kitchen supplies are about as bare bones as you can imagine. Not easy to cook stuff without proper pots pans utensils. The golf cart was the highlight. It was awesome. Kids loved it. Saved the vacation. All in all, the place was fine, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Perfect & Easy!

I have personally only stayed at one other "Airbnb" style place in the past, but I have definitely heard horror stories. I am always hesitant because of this, and end up settling for a less spacious and usually more expensive hotel with no amenities to use on a long trip. With that being said, staying here was absolutely perfect. It kicked the idea of ever staying at a hotel in the future to the curb! This place was clean, had additional towels/blankets, W/D, easy to use golf cart to get around, and newer kitchen appliances. You could easily walk right to the beach or simply open the balcony door and enjoy the ocean view. The ONLY negatives would be that it is a long elevator ride up to the room from the ground floor; but on the other hand thats what gives it that beautiful balcony view! My favorite part of all, the process of checking in and checking out was very smooth and clear. I would 100% recommend and stay here again!

We really liked the property and its location to restaurants and grocery stores made things very convenient. Need greater communications on using the TV sets. Would prefer a standard cable-streaming service such as You Tube. We stayed during football season.

Just what we needed

The view and close access to the beach was great! We had trouble with the water shutting off but management was very responsive and it was resolved quickly. The kitchen was very Bare Bones: no filters for the coffee pot, no chopping board or descent basic chef knife but there were 2 toasters, weird. There is no shower curtain or shower door; so the bathroom floor gets soaked every time you shower. The bed was very comfortable and the AC worked great which was really important since it was in the upper 90’s. The golf cart worked great and allowed us to not get in our car the entire stay.

This place needs a serious scrubbing

This could be the perfect place but it was pretty gross. There was food on the floor (old grapes, chips, etc) There was rolled up dirty sheets in the closet, you can’t walk across the rug in the living room without sand and your feet getting sticky (when we moved the coffee table to use the sofa bed, there is a literal brown color around where the coffee table sits - I couldn’t walk across it without getting grossed out). They say you might not be able to check in at the check in time due to the rigorous cleaning that is done, but this far from our experience. This little vacation home could be top notch because the location and layout is amazing but it definitely needs more care and maintenance. It’s in dire need of new paint or a magic eraser because everywhere is scuffed up and looks like there are dirty hand prints on all the doors and cabinetry. Overall, I didn’t want to spend any more time than we absolutely had to inside this room.

Westwinds in SanDestin

We have been visiting SanDestin annually for 15+ years. In past we’ve always stayed at Beachside I or Beachside II. We were very pleased with with our first visit to Westwinds. This unit had been freshly painted and decorated nicely. Shout out to property manager - TV in living for room had no signal upon arrival. Contacted property manager who immediately addressed/corrected the issue on a Sunday! Only suggestion is to add a nightstand next to bed. Need a place to place clock/phone during the night. Loved the pool and hot tub areas. Snack bar at pool very convenient. In future we will always look to Westwinds first!

Not worth the $

Wash comforter on bed it was flipping brown around edges....disgusting ... screen broken when arrived on bedroom door ...maintenance was a joke the golf cart's reverse kept messing up called maintenance said they would help the next day -no show.... so we just kept pushing it ....gave up on that... no extra blankets only 3 pillows beware nice but damn for as much as we spent expected just a tad more ....weird layout to go to bathroom you had to go through bedroom.

Need TLC

We’ve stayed at the Westwinds in the past at different condos. The location is absolutely perfect and an added touch with this property is the golf cart. As for the property itself it definitely could use some TLC. The screen from the master bedroom was torn and did not open or close, the dishwasher would not turn on, the bathroom cabinet door hinge isn’t attached and the shelves in the master bath linen closet were barely hanging on. The lighting in the living room and master bedroom are very dull and dark with no over head lighting. The master bathroom also extremely dull and dark. It appeared that one of the bulbs was out until I tightened it and it came on but it could use an upgrade. The air conditioner either ran constantly and it was to cold or did not run enough and it was on the warmer side when not running. The beach chairs have definitely seen better days and the umbrellas……. Neither one had the bag to carry them to the beach and the one was missing the piece that screws into the sand. Luckily we always bring our own umbrella. To top it all off, the beach access and pool were closed the entire week. We don’t go for the pool but it sure was a huge inconvenience to get to the beach. We were told we could use the beach access at the condo next door but they sure weren’t very happy about that. The other access was also a good distance away to carry everything to spend the day at the beach. I blame this on the management company as I’m sure they were aware that the beach access and pool would have been shut down for renovations. Had this knowledge been shared in advance we probably would have pushed our vacation back a few weeks. So disappointed we may never stay at Westwind again. The unit was small but totally doable for two people and as expected. Kitchen had plenty of utensils and dishes. With some updates and TLC this unit could have potential.

Perfect Getaway for 2

Very convenient but could use a little TLC Enjoyed our stay but could not get ice maker to work in fridge (probably user error). A few lamps were on there last leg but still worked. We loved having the golf cart!! That was a very nice touch!!

Great Experience!

Would definitely recommend! We had 2 adults and 2 children (ages 5 and 11). It was snug but we never plan on staying in the condo for long periods of time so it works for us. The location was perfect, the views were amazing and the golf cart was a great added bonus.
