Perfect Getaway

Jennifer was a great host, and has put a lot of love into this home to make it a perfect stay for her renters. There was plenty to do at the cabin to keep us entertained for the entire week. We tried our best to enjoy the cabin amenities, and to explore all of Jennifer's recommendations.

Great location, many extras, great communication.

Since the initial booking, the communication with Jennifer was prompt and attentive. Cottage was clean and inviting. Kids enjoyed the extra outdoor water activities that were provided with the rental. Outdoor seating was plentiful and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds were comfortable. We will rent again when we return to Silver Lake.

Perfect stay!

Our stay here was nothing short of amazing. The property is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a cute little two bedroom cottage on the lake. The house is cute and cozy. It was super clean upon check in and the check in process was super easy. Jennifer is a great host and made sure that everything was great upon check in. The property has access to a lake, with the perfect spot to swim right by the cottage OR to take out the kayaks and/or paddleboards that are free to use with the property. We enjoyed swimming and relaxing outside for hours and even had a family kayak night around sunset. The property is also super close to several beaches. We checked out the Little Sable Point Lighthouse and the beach that was on, another smaller beach nearby, and Pentwater a little less than 30 min away. We skipped Silverlake Dunes but that’s another super popular beach nearby. The property is in a small town/area but finding things to do was not a problem. In addition to the beaches, we also checked out Craig’s Cruisers, a few gift shops, several restaurants, and plenty of ice cream shops. We were also 5-10 min away from a dollar general for quick necessities and 30 min away from Walmart for groceries (although the drive felt less than 30 min). All-in-all, this property was perfect for our vacation. This is definitely one we will come back to and one that I’d recommend to anyone looking to visit Michigan.

Relaxing

Often times vacations are more work than vacation. I have never felt more rested and relaxed than I did after spending the week. The property had everything to keep us entertained all day without the additional cost and effort of finding things to do. Any questions I had were answered right away, not that I had many as we were provided with so information about the area in the welcome email. I can’t wait to come back!

Felt like home

This cottage is a very charming and welcoming place. It has everything you could need to enjoy a relaxing stay. Access to the lake was awesome. My host Jennifer was always available for any questions. Highly recommend. It is a beautiful cottage and location. We will be staying again in the future

Our Stay at Upper Silver Lake

Very nice place that could be improved on with a couple of recliners and a softer bed. The lake was nice but better suited for jet boats since it’s quite shallow where it shouldn’t be. The boat ramp has no dock and you must straddle a busy road when loading or unloading. Otherwise it’s a very beautiful lake and lovely house.

Wonderful Vacation

This property was wonderful! We had such a great time. The kids loved the beach, swim area, and float pad! The house had everything we needed and more. Super nice neighbors! We will definitely be back!

Great location.

The house was just enough room for our family of 4. It was great being within a mile or two from all the downtown silver lake fun. The house was very clean and the property is well maintained. All the water toys made it fun for everyone including the kids.

Home away from home

The cottage felt like home as soon as we walked in. Very clean, bright. The beds were comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. The deck had plenty of seating with umbrellas to keep the afternoon sun from getting too warm. The swimming area was perfect for smaller children to play in the sand or for swimming. The covered seating area was great. The kayaks and paddle boats were a lot of fun. The host was only a quick email away and answered all of our questions quickly. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.

Great fishing and water fun!

Very clean property with so much to do right on site. The fishing is great and the use of the cottage's water toys (SUPs, kayaks, and paddleboats) makes this such a fun spot. Very clean cottage, thanks for sharing!

Perfect Vacation and Wonderful Host!!!

We absolutely loved the cottage and had an amazing week! We brought groceries for all of our meals and I appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was... There were sharp knives, cutting boards, every size pot and pan, wine opener, hand mixer, etc. It was great being on the channel because even if the lake itself was busy, the channel was calm enough to enjoy the stand-up paddleboards. We took full advantage of the kayaks and the floating mat was perfect... The adults loved lounging on it on the hot days and the kids enjoyed throwing each other off it! LoL Jennifer was a wonderful host and was very prompt to answer any questions we had. You can tell they take great pride in the cottage itself, the landscaping, and providing a wonderful experience for all of their renters! We would love to go back to the Wee Haus in the future!

Family stay

Everything was as described. Lots of stuff at the home to keep kids busy during the day. It’s in a great location (close to attractions and state park) and being right on the channel looking out at the lake was great. Memories were made and fun times were had.

Perfect Family Vacation!

This is our second year enjoying the Wee Huis as a family of four and cannot wait to book our stay for next year! There are so many activities nearby and an amazing assortment of fun to come home to! My boys love playing in the sand, in the water, and riding on the boat. Just waiting for them to be older to enjoy all the other water toys available!

So peaceful!

We had such a relaxing time at the Wee Huis! We thoroughly enjoyed our time. Jennifer was a great host who communicated quickly and thoroughly. Be aware that if you're going to be in Silver Lake after Labor Day lots of things will be closed for the season but if you want a quiet, peaceful getaway, you won't do better than this!

Cozy lake cottage

Great location on a narrow bay access. Very quiet. Sandy bottom. Shallow. Great for children. Always watch the sunset from our deck. Just a few feet from the main lake. Small pontoon boat used for awesome fishing. Owners are awesome to work with. Already rented it for next year.

Perfect little paradise

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this home! I really appreciate the owners patience when I wasn’t super responsive initially. We were sent an amazingly detailed email ahead of our stay and it really helped plan things we wanted to try. My family is Mexican and the La Probadita (in the email) Mexican taqueria and grocery store is as authentic as it gets. The home itself is definitely small but perfect for the 4 of us and really more than enough room bc the layout is so practical. The outdoor spaces we’re fantastic and we spent most of our time outside. My boys (8 and 5) had so much to do. The shed was a game changer for storage and the available kayaks/paddle boards got a ton of use. The floating platform was a huge hit with them too! You can’t beat the location right off the main lake. It was shallow and swimmable and it was just right for our boys. Overall this was one of the cleanest homes we’ve stayed in. Really well thought out and great use of space. Lots of little things were considered and it shows in all the little touches. We will absolutely be back!

Home away from home 🏠

Great spot!

My family of 4 had a great time at Jennifer’s place on Upper Silver Lake. Very clean and conveniently stocked. We wish we had warmer weather in May but it was still beautiful. The private lake, dunes and Lake Michigan are gorgeous! Jennifer was very informative and communicated very well. Wish we could have stayed longer and we could definitely see ourselves visiting again! Thank you!

Amazing getaway with a view

Wonderful experience

We were so pleased with the property and even more so with the property owner. She was excellent. She was kind, adaptable, and responsive to communicate with. She is very conscientious of being careful and clean with the challenges of Covid. The cottage is very comfortable and fun with the beach toys and boards. We went in the fall and were still able to enjoy the lake because of the peddleboat, boards, and pontoon. The property is very close to the dunes. The lights on the properties across the inlet are really pretty at night. We enjoyed the firepit and it was kind to have firewood available. The owner keeps the grounds of the property really cute with potted plants and gardens. This gives the property a 'homey' feel rather then a rental feel.
