Relaxing and comfortable house!

Our group of 8 ranging from 1-80 stayed at Valerie's home for a week long vacation in August. There were very few houses that met the criteria for our group and this house was really perfect. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We loved the huge yard for the kids to run around in and the wrap around porch was a great place to sit and relax. The lake is a bit farther away than we hoped but is really beautiful and so peaceful. We would love to come back again! Valerie was extremely responsive and easy to work with.

Highly Recommend!

We loved our stay at the home, and it was exactly what we were looking for to accommodate a few families traveling together. There are tons of activities for kids from board games, the mini house in the backyard and the nearby lake that is within walking distance. We spent a lot of time on the peaceful front porch as well. Our son said this was his favorite vacation property we have ever stayed at.

We loved our stay!

We couldn’t have asked for more. We were three families (6 adults and 4 kids) and perfectly accommodated, enough rooms for everyone and space for each to do their own thing. The mini house is a lovely added touch, kids loved it! The communication with Valerie was great, she provided lots of helpful tips to make our stay memorable (we loved Dowses beach!). The house was clean and fully equipped, really enjoyed having access to the beach chairs and some toys for the kids. Thank you so much to our host, we felt so welcome from the minute we arrived. Saving this house for our next trip to Cape Cod!

Fabulous!

Our stay at The Mills was just everything we could have wanted - and more! Valerie (the property contact/owner) was fabulous. Right from the start we felt welcomed - and not just because of the unexpected (above-and-beyond) welcome gift she left for us, either. The house was just so warm and inviting - and CLEAN! That's super important to me whenever I go anywhere, so it's something that I always note right away. It's very clear to me that she wants her guests to have a special and memorable stay right from the start - and we certainly did. Communication with her was very very easy - we could always count on her to respond quickly. She is also a wealth of information, and has put together a book filled with everything you need to know while you're staying there. And the house comes stocked with everything you might need, too - there isn't a thing I can think of that wasn't there. There were tons of bath and beach towels, a drawer full of Keurig coffee cups, cabinets stocked with spices, oils, other cooking ingredients, paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, etc - and outside, firewood!! Tons of firewood for the fabulous fire pit! We loved sitting around the fire, and used it many of the nights we were there, so we used a lot of it. When we asked if we could replenish it, they told us that it's a gift from them to their guests! The "mini house" in the backyard is really cute and well done. All and all, I can't say enough about our stay at The Mills!!

Perfectly relaxing home!

Our stay was wonderful. Home was immaculate and everything you could want in a VRBO was provided. Owners were excellent in communicating with us and assured us if anything was needed they would tend to it right away but I can truly say this home was perfectly appointed and our family enjoyed all aspects. The outdoor shower was a big hit! Best I have ever seen. Loved spending family time on the huge front porch as well as meals on the back deck. Mini house was a fun place for our grandchildren too! Most of all very comfortable beds. I would highly recommend this VRBO and would rent again. Thank you Valerie and Greg for sharing your home with us!

A Wonderful Week!

I can't say enough great things about this property and the owners. The house is large, beautiful, and cozy. Located at the end of a culdesac, it is a perfect place for kids to run around and play and also have a quiet, relaxing vacation. The house has great places to relax (comfy couches, Adirondack chairs, and hammocks) and it is a quick walk to a beautiful pond. The hosts are extremely responsive (and accommodating!). A quick drive to most places in Barnstable, including our favorite beach. Final highlight: watching my 60+ yr old parents try to navigate the touch faucet in the kitchen. A week's worth of entertainment! :) . We hope to be back next summer!

Family Fun

Our family of 6 adults and 2 young children enjoyed staying at this comfortable, well-equipped house. The large lawn, front porch, and back deck were great for the children, who had fun playing with some balls and other toys in the garage. The house has a vast collection of children's books and games which were a big hit with the little ones. The back deck also was perfect for grilling and dining al fresco. Everyone enjoyed swimming and canoeing at Mystic Lake, which really is only a 5 minute walk or short drive or bike ride from the house.. We also visited Sandy Neck and Dowses Beaches (each about a 15 minute drive from the house) and had delicious seafood at the Chatham Fish Market. The West Barnstable Conservation Area located about a mile from the house was good for running/hiking and for mountain biking, but we found that the nearby roads were not well suited for biking. The hosts provided great service; there was a problem with the oven (even though it is modern), but Valerie arranged to have it repaired promptly and even dropped by with a blueberry pie as a friendly gesture to make up for the minor inconvenience. We would recommend this house for family vacation.

AMAZING rental for families

We stayed July 2022 for our first post covid vacation with our family group. The house is beautiful. Every detail was thought of. The mini house was awesome, my boys loved it- it had a TV and AC, perfect hangout. The bedrooms were good sized and allowed lots of space. The kitchen was very well stocked, all sorts of cooking supplies, dishes, spices- so nice to not have to bring all of those things. The outdoor shower was huge. Loved how it was right off the amazing front porch, with a hammock and plenty of seating. We spent most nights by the firepit. The downstairs added a lot of extra space as well. Washer and dryer are always an added bonus. The family also left us a personalized beach bag, welcome book, cape cod chips and wine. Lots of toys, bikes etc in the garage. Also, a kayak off a private/walk able lake. By far, our favorite rental on cape cod. Looking forward to another stay next summer. Thank you Valerie for sharing your home with us. We made some amazing memories. Erica

Wonderful Large Home

We were thoroughly impressed with this beautiful property. It is spacious, beautifully furnished, extremely clean and well-kept. The kitchen and bathrooms are fully stocked. Don't miss the outdoor shower! There's a lot to do just a short drive away. Highlights were shopping in Hyannis and the low tide at Sandy Neck Beach. Thank you Valerie!

Wonderful home, amazing hosts, perfect vacation!

We've rented vacation homes on Cape Cod for more than a decade, and this is by far the best we've ever found. The house is beautiful, spacious, clean, and extremely well provisioned. Valerie is gracious host who is lightning quick to answer questions about the property. We walked to Mystic Lake every day for a swim down a short wooded path, and enjoyed the quiet, secluded neighborhood. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to anyone, and we hadn't been gone five minutes before we started planning our return next year.

Amazing Getaway

This home is a remarkable place to spend some wonderful time on Cape Cod! The house, location, and wonderful amenities provided us everything we could ask for! Family Reunion 2022

We loved our stay here! My son is stationed in the Coast Guard on Cape Cod and we wanted a place for all of us to be able to connect. It is a little out of the way, but close enough to make sight seeing easy. The yard worked out great for us and the kids. We had plenty of room to spread out. And that outdoor shower was fabulous! Would definitely rent again! Thank you Smith's!

Perfect family getaway!

From start to finish, our stay was perfect. Valerie was readily available, answered any and all questions we had and we had an incredible week on the Cape. The house is beautiful, serene and was well stocked. The front porch and outdoor shower was everyone’s favorite and Val was an awesome host. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this property to anyone, especially for a family getaway.

Absolutely amazing!

The house was beautiful and comfortable. It was private and had many thoughtful elements that helped to make our stay wonderful. The porch, hammock, and chairs were so comfortable and relaxing. The pond was serene and beautiful and a short walk away. There were places to put bikes in the garage. The kitchen was fully stocked. The owners of the property were accessible and helpful. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this property. We hope to be able to come again.

Wonderful spot for the famiky

We had a lovely time at this beautiful house. It was a great location, super clean, with convenient access to beaches and restaurants and other activities. The owners were so sweet and provided us with a welcome basket and great advice on which beaches to visit with the kids. We would definitely choose this place to stay for our next Cape visit.

Cape Vacation

We had a fantastic stay at this awesome house! The house was immaculate, well stocked, and the owners were so nice - very responsive! The location worked out well. It was centrally located and not as touristy as other Cape Cod areas. We appreciated the beach passes that allowed us to enjoy quiet and beautiful Cape beaches! The mini house in the back was pretty cool too! The kids enjoyed having their own space!

Beautiful Property

We had a fantastic week at this property! Both interior and exterior were beautiful and immaculately kept. The spot was super private and quiet. The owners, Valerie and her husband were great to communicate with. They were both so friendly and quick to respond. There was plenty of room for our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids). The kitchen was fully stocked, and the mini house was awesome. It was a great place for the kids to hang out and play. The garage held a bunch of kids bikes, scooters, etc. that were a big hit with the littles as well. Access to the lake was an easy 5 minute walk, and was a fabulous spot. There was a sandy area and the water was so clean and clear! I wish we had more time to take advantage of it. I do want to mention that the property is listed as a 5 bedroom, but it's really only 4 bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is in the basement and contains two beds separated by a built in bookshelf. Each bed has it's own "space" but they are definitely in the same room. This wasn't an issue for our group, but it is something to keep in mind for other renters. The only drawback of the property for us personally was that there was no fire pit. We knew that there was no firepit when we booked, but we didn't realize how much we missed having one until we didn't have one! It would have been great to have for the adults after the kids were in bed. Overall, this was a 5 star stay. We had an awesome week away and we would totally recommend this property!

A wonderful home for gathering

The home was so clean and welcoming. The pictures didn’t really do it justice. Our family loved the porch most of all! It was a wonderful home to stay in…and we’d rent it again without hesitation.

Great experience all around

We had an amazing week at this beautiful home. Adults had fun and the kids enjoyed all of the amenities, especially the mini house. Valerie was amazing to work with and very attentive to all of our questions and needs. I would highly recommend this property to all.
