Here are the positives for staying at this unit: Ocean front, nightly sunsets, a pool, boardwalk access to beach, morning mocking bird chirping, grill access, comfy king size bed, washer and drier, great wagon for beach equipment, not a large crowd on the beach, newer dishes in the kitchen, beach towels. Here are areas of improvement: old shower heads, sheets were old and didn't fit the king bed, coffee table and end tables were old and paint peeling off the edges, rug in living room is old-throw out, beach chairs need to be replaced, picture frames on wall are falling apart and frames have chucks out of them, decorations were old and did not match. They need to update the unit.

Somerset is a great pace to stay

Check in was super easy. Housekeeping was still there when it was our check in time; the floor was quite dirty. The bedroom furniture looked new adn was quite comfortable. The rest of the apartment is quite dated, including furniture and especially the kitchen. You actually have to squat to turn on the cooktop or stove because the microwave is mounted very close to the top of the oven. Refrigerator is rusty inside and outside; the ice maker did not work, but after we called it to the management company"s attention, they happily brought us bags of ice. I am hoping the owners will modernize this unit because the view is great, the pools are great, the people at The Somerset are quite nice and the management company acknowledged our concerns and promised to pass them on to the owners of the condo. Right now, I would say it is not worth what we paid in relation to other units in the building.

If only I could give 0 stars

My family and I have been vacationing in Marco Island for over 25 years and have never had such a horrible experience. From the moment we arrived we struggled to open the front door of the unit because it was eroded. After contacting the owner of the property management about the situation on the first day, he accused my adult daughter of breaking it. After walking in we noticed how filthy and dated the unit was. The shower floors were extremely dirty, the towels were so old they were basically falling apart, and worst of all there was evident mold on each of the air conditioning vents. This caused my family to have allergies the entire week, especially my youngest daughter which resulted in her having to sleep in my family members unit. Carpets and furniture were old and stained, pictures of the unit certainly misrepresented the reality of it. The only reason why we stayed for the remainder of the vacation was because there was nothing available so last minute on the island. Once the vacation came to an end and we went to return the keys to the management office, I requested to see and speak to the owner of management company. He was incredibly rude and and accused me of wanting a refund because I was from Miami, assuming that I couldn’t afford the rental. Not once did I mention a refund. He also threatened me when I said I would be writing this review. I highly recommend choosing another unit and property management company!

We love Marco Island and Somerset. Our condo was clean but old. Needs updating! It also needs new glasses, utensils.and appliances etc, The air conditioner broke while we were there but was fixed the same day. Also had a person in for water heater. Not really what we want to be bothered with on vacation. Also, beach chairs need to be thrown out. But we love the Somerset condo building.. beautiful, great location and will definitely be back.

All you need

Older condo, kind of a strange layout. No frill. Limited cookware, grandma’s dishes. Newer sofa. Awesome bed in the main bedroom and a great shower in the guest bedroom. The balcony view and sunsets are the best

Beautiful setting

The grounds were well maintained. The 203 property was a little out dated as far a furnishings and decor. The view from the balcony and proximity of the beach and ocean are beautiful. The property is gated in several spots making if feel safe. The rental had beach Charis, towels and umbrellas provided. Would have liked to have had access to more paper products and laundry soap. The check in process was easy but the interaction with an employee at the real estate office was rather rude and unprofessional.

Loved the Somerset. Our condo was clean. The furniture in the living and dining areas was very nice. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very outdated and bed was uncomfortable and not in the best of condition in the master.

Fun week on Marco Island

Property as advertised. Beautiful beach clean unit. I have mobility issues and the agent Marco Island Vacations provided a much appreciated shower stool. The pool has steps and a railing, so I could get in and out. Fun week at this resort

Our vacation

My family and I always stay a week in Marco Island once a year and it is always beautiful. We always stay in Somerset, and this was our first time in this apartment. Beautiful apartment but needs some updating.
