I tried tirelessly to get ahold of Grand Welcome during my stay and after. When I spoke to VRBO, the gentleman on the phone was absolutely no help.
Some of the issues I came across during my stay included the lack of amenities as listed on the website, the lack of communication, the cleanliness and finally the lack of safe, usable furniture. On my stay my guests and I had the disservice of sleeping in a cabin that was more than likely not cleaned before us. One of my guests woke up and saw that he had slept on two pillows COVERED in blood. The blankets in the loft and downstairs smelled like they have not been washed in who knows how long. Upon arrival, there were NO trash bags or paper towels. And we were only provided with one toilet roll. For a 3 night stay, does this seem feasible? The chairs by the dining table are on the verge of breaking. It wasn’t just one or two chairs, but it was in fact, all 6. If a heavier individual were to sit on these, I can almost guarantee that they would fall apart. In the kitchen and in the downstairs guest bathroom, there are floorboards that have nails sticking out. A guest and myself both stubbed our toes and managed to have cuts on our feet due to these nails.
I called Grand Welcome multiple times and they left me on hold, hung up on me and promised to bring us new clean pillows and sheets. That never happened. Stay somewhere else and save your money. This place was AWFUL
