Magnífica acogida en un agradable apartamento.

Tras un fin de semana en este apartamento quedamos muy satisfechos de la estancia. Lo primero que quiero destacar es la atención que nos brindo Barbara desde el mismo día de la reserva hasta que dejamos el apartamento. Siempre se ha adelantado a nuestras necesidades y las ha solucionado. El apartamento es funcional, buena cocina, cómodo y los colchones fueron de nuestro agrado. Hay algo de ruido de trafico a la noche en la habitación principal, pero dormí perfectamente. Su ubicación nos permitió desplazarnos andando con mucha facilidad. Muy cerca de Atocha y con una estación de metro a 2 minutos. En definitiva, la estancia ha sido muy satisfactoria. Gracias Barbara por la atención que nos has dispensado.

Nos encantó

Ubicación muy buena y con buena comunicación para ir al centro andando o en transporte público también para ir al aeropuerto o a la estación de tren para visitar otros lugares, en nuestro caso Toledo y El Escorial. El apartamento muy completo, muy acogedor y muy limpio Bárbara fue puntual y muy amable, nos facilitó planos e información para visitar mas cómodamente Madrid.

A good option in Madrid for a few days visit.

the apartment is located in a very convenient spot, near museums, Retiro park, Atocha Station, metro etc. if you are planning to move around by walk this is a good option. The building is located in a busy noisy street and is a perfect architecture example of the first decade in Madrid in the last century, with A/C, TV, wi-fi, double window etc If your plan is to stay just a few days and no more than 3 persons then, this is a reasonable option in Madrid.

Hemos estado muy agusto.Apartamento amplio, bien dotado y excelente situación. Bárbara muy atenta e informandonos de todo. Totalmente recomendable . Si volvemos a Madrid será nuestra primera opción.

muy cómodo y céntrico

Hemos estado con nuestra hija de 9 años en el apartamento de Bárbara durante los dias de Navidad 2015. Para una familia de 3 o 4 miembros es ideal. Tiene todo lo necesario a nivel de útiles de cocina y demás. Las camas, muy cómodas, y el sofá también. El mobiliario sencillo y funcional, y con información turística de Madrid. El immueble está al lado de una boca de metro (Palos de la Frontera) y muy cerca también de Atocha Bárbara nos aportó información útil en todo momento y se mostró a nuestra disposición. Muchas gracias por todo, Bárbara.

A comfortable stay with excellent location. Highly recommended.

The apartment is comfortably furnished with an excellent kitchen. We found Barbara to be a gracious host and helped us with tourist advice. The supermarket is across the road. There is close by the main train station and bus stop. The Prado Museum is 10 minutes away. We enjoyed the apartment very much, you are living with the local people in this apartment block. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants in the area.

Nice weekend in Madrid

Rented the apartment for a quick weekend in Madrid The unit is very sunny and spacious Great area and a short walk from Atocha Barbara was very professional and available if needed I would definately rent again when back to Madrid

Great location and property

We had a good experience working with Barbara. She met us right at the door where we quickly took our luggage upstairs while my husband waited with the car, which she then showed us where to park in a convenient garage just down the street. The apartment was clean and comfortable and had what we needed. Barbara was so nice and made sure we had all the information we needed to have a nice stay. Close to a metro, the train station, parks, museums, food, shopping, etc. We had our daughter with us, so the two bedrooms were nice to have. Very positive stay. We loved Madrid! Thanks Barbara!

Appartement central à Madrid

La propriétaire Barbara nous a chaleureusement accueillis. Elle nous a donné des conseils qui ont facilité notre séjour. Cet appartement est très bien situé pour visiter Madrid à pied. De plus, il est tout près de la gare Atocha et du musée Prado. L'arrêt du bus express pour l'aéroport est à quelques mètres, ce qui est un avantage. L'appartement correspond à l'annonce. Merci Barbara!

Soggiorno a Madrid

L'appartamento corrisponde alla descrizione dell'annuncio, risulta molto comodo, dotato di tutti gli accessori ed elettrodomestici (lavatrice, lavastoviglie, wi-fi veloce e condizionatori). Vicinissimo a due supermercati molto forniti e alla Metro (linea 3 gialla). La casa e' comunque posizionata benissimo, e' vicina alla stazione di Atocha e al Reina Sofia, si possono raggiungere tranquillamente a piedi sia il Prado, che il Thyssen. Passeggiando si può arrivare senza fatica anche alla Gran Via e alla Puerta del Sol. Accoglienza molto gradevole, e soggiorno incantevole, rimarrà per sempre nei nostri ricordi, da consigliare certamente.

Safety is a Concern

This 3rd floor apartment is an "end unit" in a 4 story building, in a commercial district, that is "sandwiched" in between others like it. . . with no "fire escapes", and no streets, or even alleys, in between. We saw no fire safety sprinklers or other equipment in the building. There is a gap in the top floor roof that is about 3 feet wide to allow some sunlight and air in to dry clothes that are hung on long lines in the center of the building. Our safety concern is that a high percentage of people in Madrid smoke. In the event of a fire, the few exits provided would not allow all those living in this building to reach safety. Because, while this is an "end" apartment with French doors in the living/dining area. . (no windows in the second bedroom or bathroom). . . the neighboring, "interior' apartments (about 8 on each floor) have only one exit from their home. Those apartments have no windows/French doors. . . no direct natural light, at all, in their homes. We were told this is the normal way of living in this part of Madrid. We noticed there are blocks and blocks of buildings with zero space between them. Where many people live above shops and even restaurants in such hazardous situations. Learning of the tragic fire in London. . . has made us more alert to such safety issues in large cities. Otherwise, this small apartment was reasonably comfortable, clean, and in a convenient location. The dining table can be opened up to comfortably seat "four". . . not more. The television is very old, almost non-functional, and needs to be replaced. Anyone thinking about inviting friends to join them and sleep in the second bedroom, for even one night, should check ALL the additional fees and add them up. We found those fees to be over the top, and unjustifiable. When we tried to come to a reasonable compromise, with Barbara, regarding the fees, we found her to have a quick temper, to be rude, and to be completely inflexible. Her negative review for us as guests is a reflection of her vindictiveness. We are certainly responsible people who left the place in good order, tidy, and clean. Because of her negative attitude, we took the precaution of taking photos of the apartment right before we left. . . in case she refused to return our security deposit. Since it has now been returned, we can be honest in our review.

Excellent location in Madrid - near museums. Well managed by owner

This is an excellent location for walks, within minutes, to the Reina del Sofia Museum/Museo and El Prado and the Botanical Garden. A few minutes farther and you are at Retiro Park. Within a 15-minute or more walk is Plaza Mayor and other markets, great restaurants, and adjacent neighborhoods. The VRBO itself is spacious and quiet. We were a family of three visiting in late March. Our daughter went for early morning runs in Retiro Park. At night, we walked down the street to a nearby fruit vendor or a grocer store or the bakery - all doors away. The neighborhood is safe and close to the bus, train station and metro. There's even a taxi stand right in front of the VRBO lobby entrance. The owner Barbara is wonderful. She answered all of our questions in the weeks prior to our visit. When we had a question or two about the apartment, while we were there, she answered immediately and even stopped by, as she lives nearby. She is an excellent business person and cares about the upkeep of the apartment, but also the satisfaction of those who stay there as VRBO clients. The kitchen had lots of room for food preparation; the bathroom was spacious. The two bedrooms and living room were just right for what we needed. If we ever come back to Madrid, we would want to stay here in this VRBO again. Thank you, Barbara.

Exactly what we hoped for...

Stayed for a weekend. 5 mins walk from the Atocha train station. Barbara was there waiting for us. Perfectly located near all of the attractions. Great stay!

lovely and convenient Madrid apartment

Barbara's apartment is well located near museums, restaurants, grocery stores and parks as well as two metro stations. We walked most places. An added plus was that our daughter's apartment was down the block. Barbara was quick to respond to my questions before we arrived and during our stay. She was warm and friendly. The apartment had two bedrooms and the living area was big enough for the three of us and for four when our daughter came over. I would highly recommend it.

Great location for us. Barbara was the perfect host.

We were very happy with the apartment. It worked well for three people. The location to a Metro station and Atocha were perfect. Barbara was a great host and checked to ensure that all was going well and responded quickly to any questions we had. We would return to this location again.

Clean and comfortable

The apartment is as specified in the advert. Very clean and Barbara is so helpful. We stayed 2 nights and Barbara arranged secure parking for our car.Access to the city centre is easy from the apartment. The kitchen is well appointed but we ate out both nights so did not use any of the cooking facilities. It is situated on a busy road so can be noisy if you open the window at night, which we did on the first night but the second night we kept the window shut and used the a/c to keep cool. Very nice apartment - recommend for seeing Madrid.

Un appartement très bien situé

Nous venons de passer un court mais très bon séjour à Madrid. L'appartement est très bien situé, proche de tout : musées, Gare Atocha pour le train, gare Atocha pour le retour à l'aéroport en bus, accès facile à la station Moncloa pour une visite aller-retour à Segovie dans la journée, parc du Retiro, magasins d'alimentation ouvert très tard dans la nuit. Il était très agréable de rentrer le soir après plusieurs heures de visite pour s'y ressourcer. Tout est très bien équipé à la cuisine et nous avons spécialement apprécié la clarté des lieux. Cependant, il faut savoir que l' avenue sur laquelle donne l'appartement est très vivante de jour ... comme de nuit. Se munir de boules quies si l'on veut dormir sur rue ! Par contre l'autre chambre est calme.

Lieu idéal au centre de Madrid pour un séjour agréable

Accueil très appréciable de la part de Barbara, propriétaire, qui nous a bien facilité le séjour Appartement bien situé près de la gare Atocha et surtout près de la plupart des sites touristiques à visiter. Équipement moderne et très fonctionnel permettant de vivre confortablement et en toute tranquillité C'était comme à la maison. Propreté ++ Conseils de la propriétaire ++correspondance avec l'annonce++ Fortement recommandable Pour un bon Flamenco voir la petite scène La Candela super, pas cher et pas attrape-touristes Réviser votre espagnol ou votre anglais! Pour le français : pas fréquent

Great Location!

Very convenient location for having access to all of Madrid! City bus, train, tour bus, taxi stand, airport 24 hour bus, subway, etc. It is all right there or within a short walk! Made getting around Madrid a breeze! Nice neighborhood with restaurants, grocery store and shops. Apartment had plenty of room for this mother/daughter traveling duo! Well appointed and extremely functional. Owner (Barbara) was a pleasure to deal with! She was very helpful and responsive.

Good apartment but not ideal

Would fully agree with all the previous reviews for this apartment. If you enjoy the nightlife this is probably the apartment for you. For a family being located on a very busy main road the traffic noise throughout the night was just too much
