Beautiful location and accommodation

We have just returned from a beautiful weekend away at this property for my dad’s 70th birthday. The property is really lovely as is the location. Prior to the visit the housekeeper Tracey was so accommodating and helpful too. The only downside is one bathroom and for 6 guests there was often a queue for toilet or shower! Apart from that highly recommend!

The photos don't do it justice

The place is lovely and the setting surpassed our expectations. The valley and trees surrounding the property were stunning. We would definitelty stay again.

Amazing location and lovely cottage

We didn’t really know what to expect when we arrived but the cottage is in a very secluded location and the housekeeper advised we could arrive earlier than stated on the arrival day as it was ready early which was ideal. Really clean, warm and welcome pack and bits were excellent. I wouldn’t rely on the games room as the shed it’s in needs some work but it’s a handy extra. The outside utility is like a mini drying room as it’s so warm and we found this really handy being winter. Kitchen is well equipped and super clean. The lounge is huge and wood burner heats it really quickly. The hot tub is superbly located and private. Ideal for dogs to run around in the grounds and beyond and will definitely be returning.

Perfect place for weekend away

We had an amazing weekend. The lodge was exactly what we were looking for. Surrounded by nature, the kids had endless games to play outside while parents enjoyed the beauty and calm of this place.

As last time - the best nature retreat

Second time in this cottage and it did not disappoint. We stayed longer this time and still have not managed to explore all the hidden nature treasure on our doorstep. Kids loved the area. Endless quest and hide and seek games. And when it is rainy the games room is very handy. A very relaxing and outdoorsy half term break exactly what the 5 of us needed.

Location Location Location!!

Outstanding property and the surroundings were ideal, especially if you take a dog with you. The walks straight from the property were perfect for our energetic water loving Cocker Spaniel. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely peaceful

Stayed for just 3 nights, wow, so peaceful, we had fantastic weather which helped, beautiful countryside, very quiet, the pub down the road with beautiful back garden( name escapes me) food was on point, very good. The house was just amazing, just what we needed and absolutely would return for longer stay. Only criticism if any, internet intermittent so telly was not great, we got round this by watching downloaded films on laptop plugged into telly so all good, could have done with radio or Bluetooth speaker will remember to take with us next time, games room would be great fur kids( we didn’t have any) anyways, we had the most amazing time, really was wow!

A Slice of Heaven in the Countryside

Honestly if we could give it 10 Stars we would, it was just a little piece of chilled out Paradise. The photos absolutely do not do the scenery justice. It’s a stunning home in a gorgeous setting. We can’t wait to go back!

Lovely cottage. Great location, secluded but easy access to Local area.

Nice cottage and grounds. Lovely garden safe for kids and dogs. Located on the estate tucked away from the world, but easy access to it. Great walks on the estate directly from the cottage, including through to Tarus crafts Centre with shops, cafe, taps room. Only suggestion I would have to improve is the kitchen could be better provided for with equipment, new pans, cooking trays, bowls etc. A slow cooker would be a great addition for the winter months.

Excellent

When looking for a place to stay as a family we have very specific requirements and Quarry Lodge ticked every one. It was perfect for us. Clean, comfortable, in the heart of the countryside with all the facilities we need. Nice extra touches like a games cupboard, and the games room. Games room could do with a heater and the house could benefit from an extra bathroom but we were so delighted that we’ve already rebooked for 2026.

Amazing view from the hot tub!

Quarry Lodge is spacious, well decorated, well furnished and very comfortable. The location is perfect if you want to get away from it all. Can fully recommend paying for the hot tub as it's perfect with a view of the surrounding trees. Great base for exploring the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. We hope to return!

Secluded cottage peaceful and excellent location

Quarry cottage is secluded and an ideal cottage for a peaceful comfortable stay Excellent walks from the cottage in any direction Beautiful view over the lake The cottage was clean , and cosy well equipped Had a query with the TV but Tracy the housekeeper gave us excellent customer service solving our problem with a phone called answered promptly Good location within easy access to local facilities. Would recommend this cottage and will return

Short break

The scenery is insane and made our little holiday amazing, everything was provided for a great stay! Maybe just a warning on the hot tap in the kitchen which seemed to get very hot.

Perfect

The property was amazing, the location was perfect for our little getaway. Wish we booked longer. The house was well equipped and comfortable. And soooo quiet. We enjoyed our morning coffee's sat in the garden listening to the birds and then a few cocktails in the evening in the hot tub. 100% will now be a yearly thing for us this place.

Romantic 2 Nights Away

We had a wonderful stay at Quarry Lodge. We made the most of the hot-tub and log burner and enjoyed walking through the Estate grounds taking in all the wildlife and surroundings! We also walked to the George Inn for dinner one evening - food was fantastic! Will definitely be back again - maybe with the children! :)

An absolute gem

Had the best time at Quarry Lodge with the family. It was situated in a beautiful position with lovely views, an abundance of nature on our doorstep and peace and quiet. The lodge was equipped with everything you could think of and didn't disappoint on the luxury front. The beds were very comfy too. We loved the games room and the walks from the doorstep. We all intend to come back to Quarry Lodge every year!
