Tolle Wohnung, sehr netter Vermieter

Wir wurden sehr entgegenkommend und hilfreich begrüßt. Der Sohn des Vermieters hat unser Gepäck von unserem Parkplatz außerhalb der Altstadt abgeholt. – Fahren Sie nicht in die Altstadt hinein ohne eine Ausnahmegenehmigung der Stadt Lucca! Das wurde für uns vor zwei Jahren sehr teuer! – Die Wohnung ist sehr alt mit vielen antiken Möbeln und Utensilien, aber modernen Neuinstallationen (Klimaanlage funktionierte bestens). Zwei Bäder, bei denen allerdings das Wasser langsam floss und die Mischung von kalt/warm nicht immer deutlich war. Die Küche war mit allem, was man sich wünschen kann, ausgestattet, gut in Schuss gehalten. Wir haben uns alle fünf sehr wohl gefühlt und wollen wiederkommen. Es gibt drei Schlafzimmer mit jeweils zwei richtigen Betten (gute Matrazen und Kissen). Vielen Dank, Familie Kissopoulos!

Gorgeous apartment in the very heart of Lucca’s historic centre

We absolutely loved our stay in this apartment. It was a comfortable and spotlessly clean apartment in the heart of Lucca. The apartment is set in an historic building and it was spacious, elegant and beautifully equipped. There were six of us, all adults, and we felt comfortable and not at all crowded. We chose it to spend Christmas there and we could not have found a better place. The kitchen had everything we needed to be able to cook a four-course meal and, if we needed something (e.g. an extra tray or pot) our wonderful host was happy to provide it for us. The bedrooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The hot water was an instantaneous system so it never ran out and the place was well heated. There are air conditioners but, being the middle of winter, we did not need them. We loved our stay here. Although on the third floor (71 steps), it’s a wide staircase and manageable. The most difficult part was getting the suitcases up on our arrival and down on our departure, but Francesco and Matteo helped us with these, making a huge difference and solving our dilemma. Our host and his family were kind and attentive and there for us, when we needed them, but highly respectful of our privacy and space. We fell in love with Lucca and Francesco’s apartment will definitely be our place of choice, when we return. Thank you Francesco and Matteo for your excellent hospitality.

Cozy and homey upper floor apartment

We had a fantastic time at this apartment. It was spacious and well-appointed. There was even bottled water in the fridge upon our arrival. Although May is usually warmer, this May was pretty darn cold and extra blankets were provided to keep us toasty at night. There are several floors of steps to reach the apartment and it is a challenge with luggage. However, once the luggage is in the room, we had no trouble navigating the stairs--although sometimes we were breathless when we arrived at our floor. We recovered quickly and when we saw the apartment once again, we never regretted our choice to stay at this property. It is conveniently located to all my favorited places in Lucca. And the owners are so helpful and accessible. Thank you for a wonderful time in Lucca.

Spacious and comfortable apartment with very central location

We stayed here for four nights and found this apartment very appealing. It’s location is right in the middle of the old town and we could start our exploring of the city immediately every day. It is AC in all three sleeping rooms and in the living room. That’s most appreciated. It’s quite a few steps up to the apartment. The pictures in the ad are accurate. The owners are very helpful. Enjoy your stay, we did.

Great location, great for tall people!

This was a great apartment! Nice kitchen, well appointed. Many good restaurants within the block. The Allosteria, Gigi's and Tratottoria Tosca were very good. One was right below us! How convenient! Great town, friendly. Showers were small but that is NOT unusual for these cities. We are tall and everything else was very good for us. We loved being able to leave the window open in the dining area over night to cool the apt. Air conditioning is extra but we kept the air on in the bedrooms each night (3) and it was 13euros. Not bad. Three flights of walking but we knew that in advance and it helped us burn off all of our indulgences. Thank you Matteo for being such a great host!!!!

Great Location, Really Helpful Nice Family Running a Nice Nice Home.

We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It has a large living area and kitchen making it bigger that our family of four needed. The family running it was super helpful and communicative. We will stay herre again when in Lucca.

Delightful!

My cousin and I recently stayed in this lovely apartment which is in a perfect location within the Medieval walls of beautiful Lucca. The history was apparent; the building was authentic, with some upgrades, but not to the point that it detracted from it's original facade. Close by is the main shopping street, and all of the Piazzas, cafes and restaurants. There is a nice restaurant and quaint wine bar just outside the front door of the building. We loved the location! It was comfortable and very clean, with updated, modern bathrooms. Francesco and his son Matteo were so kind and friendly, and extremely helpful. Matteo picked us up from the train station. It was wonderful getting some history and perspective from him as we drove. Worth noting: there are 72 steps up to the apartment, so if you have heavy luggage, as we did, it may be a bit of a challenge. However, Matteo assisted us in carrying our luggage up, and Francseco helped us carry our luggage down...such gentlemen. Francesco gave us a place to lock up our luggage after we checked out, so we could continue to enjoy all that Lucca had to offer for the rest of the day. He even called us a taxi when it was time for us to leave. While we waited, we sat and had one last glass of wine at the little wine bar in the plaza downstairs. Perfect! I highly recommend this historic apartment to anyone visiting Lucca. I hope to have the opportunity to visit again.
