Esperaba mucho mas.
Es un hotel que se ofrece como solo para adultos, pero comparte gran parte de su edificio con el otro Sonesta que es familiar por lo que solo hay un restaurante exclusivo para adultos y una piscina exclusiva, Todo lo demás no es exclusivo para adultos. Uno paga por un hotel 5 estrellas y si quiere desayunar o comer en otro de los restaurantes termina comiendo en un 4 estrellas. Lo que lo salva es el personal que es muy amistoso, Ademas por un error mio en la reserva en la que marque un pasajero en lugar de dos, me querían cobrar exactamente el doble del precio contratado por Hoteles.com. recién el ultimo dia cuando llego la cuenta final vi que habían corregido ese desatino, pero estuve los 7 días con sabor amargo en la boca, cuando podrían haberme llamado y decirme que habían corregido lo que estaba mal calculado.

Un Hotel de primera con algunos detalles a mejorar
En general el Hotel esta muy bueno con algunos detalles que no deberian haber pasado en un 5 estrella que son un poco incomodo para el huespeded pero nada sigificativo para no regresar pero si deberian tenerlo en cuenta el Hotel porque la competencia en el Mercado caribeño como Dominicana y la inminente entrada de Cuba al Mercado Americano hace la competencia mas fuerte y para que el turista regrese solo con un servicio de primera la hace sostenible

Property has construction in all halls, loud and dirty all day 8a-6p working. Employees had physical altercation 4/23 @10am in hallway and management did not handle situation. Maid and food service were physically fighting. The cold water pump broke and scald during shower due to the construction. The AC and all power is off from 2am-6 from the construction also. My husband got sick from the Tuna tartare being improperly handled. I wish I could give this resort a better review as it was our honeymoon and we were so Excited to stay here. Management was notified but offered only an apology and no compensation or rectification of these issues. Word to the wise, spend your vacation and money elsewhere; stay at Divi, friendly staff, better area,

We had an amazing stay at Sonesta Ocean Resort! Beautiful resort with amazing views and staff! The food was sooo good too and I usually am not fond of all inclusive food. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Diane & Frank! They became like family during our stay and deserve ALL of the accolades! Only suggestion: BRING CASH! The ATM at the resort casino was out of order the entire time and there’s no other close one within walking distance. We had to be driven to one. You’re gonna need cash for tips and taxis (they only take cash). Otherwise, kudos to sonesta! We’ll be back :)

Great dining, especially for dinner..be sure to visit Azul, best meal we had! All the pools were great, just wish the adults side had a more lively environment at any of the pools, they barely had music. Our room was pretty basic, but did the trick...loved the balcony view though!

It is a beautiful resort located on a cliff. The beach was very small. It was shared with another resort and a public beach. There was a larger beautiful beach within a 15 minute walk. It was unique in that it was right next to the airport, so a little noisy and yet amazing to see the planes so close. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. We were happy we were in the Adult only area because we had more pools, restaurant choices and not as crowded. I enjoyed two massages at their spa. The spa was wonderful, clean and a lot of different services. There was a small shopping area right next door. It is a beautiful island. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We are use to the big name resorts so we were a bit worried that it would not meet our expectations but we had fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they are such nice people. The staff service was defiantly very good. The room was acceptable. The room can defiantly use some updates. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We had a swim out room which we used more than we thought. The all inclusive was worth it for us. The drink selection at the bar is decent but if you ask for better bottle they might have it. They had the good stuff under the cabinet. The restaurant selection was good. Azul restaurant was our favorite. Food room service was better that we thought. You can also order room service from the restaurants that are available which we enjoyed some nights. Its a bit on the quiet side which we are not used to, but we did appreciate. Because its not so crowded the service was better and faster than you would receive at a large resorts. So in conclusion we had fun and enjoyed our time at the hotel. Its unique and have to enjoy it for what it is.

As far as all inclusive’s go the property is beautiful and well maintained. Good location , however this was a daily sewer odor walking down the way to the hotel The food was good for breakfast , the hamburgers were terrible and we ate dinner out most evenings ! Azul was by far the best restaurant and location. Would consider going back again but not in a rush

They would not recognize our Expedia inline reservation as their reservation person went home before the Expedia ‘drop’. Made me wait 2 hours in the lobby until they agreed to rent 2 other rooms for full price on reserve credit card until next day when they finally figured out that they had received the Expedia reservation. Needlessly confusing and disappointing after a stressful day including a flight cancellation.

This is tough, but I know how much I read reviews when choosing a hotel so I want to give as much perspective as possible. #1 advice is pay the extra for a Rooftop butler suite! You will be more likely to have a positive experience. This should not be listed as a VIP access property, as the front desk staff, who I’ll just say was less than friendly, had no idea what we were talking about when we checked in. There were no perks! No early check in, no late check out, no upgrades! Not like any other VIP access hotel I’ve been to. The location for us was great, we love being near the airport, but IF you want silence, this is not the hotel for you. The food, especially for an all inclusive was surprisingly good! Azul had the best burgers and great service, like Juliette! She was great! Butlers Alex and Yannick were kind to, we didn’t really ask for much, but the little we did ask for was done and kindly. Now here is the downside… We did not personally experience this, but SEVERAL people who were staying at the same time did not have air condition in their rooms! They also reported dirty rooms, even found blood on supposedly cleaned sheets! The facility could use some upgrading. Front desk staff could use some coaching on being warm and welcoming. Hope this is helpful! We did love the location, OUR room was good, and food with premium alcohol was also a plus!

The swim up room was ok, but the water was cold. It wasnt very private from the next door neighbors or everyone walking by. We asked for the room to be decorated for our anniversary and it wasnt. The hotel staff was all very friendly and great. I dont know if the additional cost per night for the adults only is worth the extra 3 choices of restaurant's versus the standard Casino all inclusive stay restaurant's.
