Beautiful house, great location
We loved staying in this grand house. Great location, with beautiful views from the top deck. The unit was very clean in a very quiet neighborhood. Overall, I would recommend staying here, although 1) the kitchen has the very basic pots, pans, and utensils with no storage containers or plastic wrap to save food, nor basic salt/pepper you would expect; and 2) the third room is detached from the main unit so not great for young kids. I agree that the description could be clearer to set expectations. Still, a great place for a visit to Santa Monica.

Beautiful terrace in the perfect location!
This is a beautiful house with a gorgeous terrace in one of the best neighborhoods in Santa Monica. The owners live downstairs and the apartment is upstairs and has a separate entrance. The only reason that I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the listing is a little misleading. The apartment has a nice master bedroom, a very nice master bathroom and a second bedroom with no windows and a tiny half bathroom (toilet and sink but no shower or bathtub). The third (very small) bedroom (with no closet) and the second full bathroom are outside the apartment and can only be accessed through an outdoor hallway. We were 2 couples, my husband and I, plus our son and daughter-in-law and we ended up all using the master bathroom. However, we really enjoyed the place and spent a lot of time on the beautiful terrace!

Fantastic - almost Royal
Gorgeous house in a gorgeous neighborhood. Very close to restaurants and stores. 15 minute drive from the beach. The view from the rooftop is stunning. The house has stairs, so may not be appropriate for people with certain disabilities or small children. We loved it.

Perfect!
Joe and Sara are wonderful hosts. They were quick to respond to any questions we had, thoughtful to welcome us with fresh flowers, a hand written note, a breakfast Danish, and fresh milk when we arrived, and kind to accommodate some friends we wanted to have over to show off their amazing rooftop. The view from the deck is amazing and a great place to relax after a day of visiting nearby LA sites. We loved the quiet neighborhood, easy parking, and exploring Montana street. Also, enjoyed being close enough to go for a morning run to beautiful Palisades Park. The property was very clean and had everything we needed, even a full size washing machine and dryer. I especially appreciated the filtered water (thanks!). The kitchen was a good size, but I have to confess, we didn't do a lot of cooking since we were on vacation, mostly reheating. There's a full size fridge so it fits a lot of pizza boxes. ha! The beds were all comfortable with plenty of linens and towels. Even though the property is near the beach, it was nice to have AC which worked very well. When we first arrived, it was fun to open all the doors and find all the rooms. It has a unique flow but reminds you that you're in LA and we loved the good use of all the space! Thank you for a great stay! Highly recommend!

Lovely Space in Santa Monica
We loved staying here! The space was lovely, the outdoor/upstairs space was so unique and served as a great alternative hangout spot. The kitchen was nice, pots and pans, coffee maker. Though, there were no condiments, so be aware that if you're planning on cooking, you need everything-including salt, pepper and oil.

Made our trip!
This property was the PERFECT spot for our family to enjoy the sights in and around LA! We were able to cook breakfast in the mornings. The kitchen had everything we needed. The rooftop deck gave us a beautiful place to relax. To have a reserved parking spot was PRICELESS. To be able to walk to shops on Montana was icing on the cake. Sara was quick to respond to any and all questions. To walk into their place to fresh flowers, snacks, coffee and milk in the fridge was icing on the cake! Thank you for sharing this special place with our family.

The roof alone!
We loved our stay here. They added great little homey touches to the home. Great location to the places we needed to be for our work trip. Also walking distance to great cafes and restaurants. But make sure you leave time to enjoy the roof and soak in the views.

Perfect Location
We had a fantastic experience. This may the best neighborhood in the L.A. area. Montana is wonderful with shops, restaurants, cafes and the best coffee houses. Walking to Ocean Ave and the beach is easy and beautiful. The house worked very well for us.

Great location desperately needs updates to beds and bath
The location is terrific. Hosts attentive. The bed desperately needs to be replaced- this was noted by others in 2021 but a mattress topper isn’t the fix. 3 stars because sleep matters and we didn’t sleep well in the hollowed out mattress. Otherwise, it is a purely functional condo in an excellent location. We were out all day and just there to sleep and eat breakfast - would be 5 stars with an update to the only shower and the king mattress.

Best choice to stay in Santa Monica
Clean, spacious, amazing views from rooftop deck, great location within walking distance to town with shops and restaurants, parking on premise, comfortable, a real home away from home, washer/dryer and owners are very attentive and responsive. We can’t say enough about our experience. Even small touches by owner, Sara, who left flowers, pastries, and milk for us when we arrived. We highly recommend staying in this stunning home.

Christmas 2021 Visit from Canada
The property is perfectly located just off Montana Blvd. in Santa Monica- just as pictured there are two bedrooms, kitchen, living room and bathroom and a third bedroom with its own bathroom across the landing - which turned out to be an ideal hideaway for our teenage nephew. The decor is cozy, warm and comfortable and the piece de resistance is the roof deck ideal for soaking in some rays and relaxing into a California vibe!

Santa Monica weekend
Perfect location to shopping restaurants and the beach. Gorgeous rooftop patio and views. The only comment I would make is that there are a lot of stairs. If you are older and have suitcases, this will not be an easy entry or exit.

This property was in an incredible spot, the short walk to either the beach, or the main street area of town were huge perks to our vacation. The property manager was helpful, quick to respond, and even left a handwritten thank you note and fresh muffins on the table at our arrival. There were certain amenities like the rooftop outdoor space, and provided filtered water, that created elements of fun and ease in our stay. Thanks for a great weekend in Santa Monica!

Great Location
The location, just a block off of Montana and Euclid is really lovely. And there is parking. The apartment was very clean, organized and had some amenities I did not expect (new LG washer and dryer, with detergent) and a Nespresso with pods to use. It is spacious and ther was plenty of room. We stayed with our daughter for the UCLA 2020 redo graduation weekend (3 nights). The kitchen was spacious and had all the items you would need to cook. Although the main fridge was on the fritz (it can happen), they supplied a mini fridge. Alas, no muffins as others have mentioned. We loved the upper deck (1 flight up..so 3rd floor of building) that had a BBQ and a large table and sun chairs. Nice to have a cocktail up there at sunset and we had my inlaws pop in for a drink. The AC is excellent. The main bathroom large, has a jacuzzi tub and shower, 2 sinks. Since the 2nd bathroom was outside, then up a flight of stairs 93rd floor), we shared the main bathroom with our adult daughter. Not ideal, but OK. Description of the unit is technically accurate, but not really a good description. The 3rd bedroom is a very small room, poor mattress and is connected to the main partment via a breezeway. The 2nd bathroom was an outdoor flight above the 3rd bedroom (3rd floor). The master and the 2nd bedroom are in the apartment proper (2nd floor). Glad we did not have a small child with us and we were lucky my 6'4 son was unable to make the weekend at the last min. 3rd bedroom was worse than his dorm room...small, bad bed, isolated. The decor is a bit outdated, but still nice. The couch comfy and TV/WIFI/Internet info easily availible and helpful. We were all very unhappy with the beds. we like a firmer bed. This was a very, very, very soft master bed with a concave divet. The twins in room 2, harder but made squeeking noises when you roll over get up at night. Also, step from 2nd bedroom to bathroom at night is a step down, then flat, then a step up. Lit with a nightlight, but still easy to trip on...which my husband did. This 2nd floor aprtment is not for the infirmed or mobility impaired. Min interaction with the owner. He said bye when we left.

Perfect Location, Great Host!
Our family of 4 with adult children stayed for 3 days. Check-in process was super easy. When we arrived there was fresh milk in the fridge, yummy muffins and coffee for our breakfast. Such a nice treat! The neighborhood is great for strolling and so close to great restaurants and shops. We were given the driveway to park in which was a bonus because street parking was pretty full. It's not fancy but comfortable. I recommend this property.

Jewel of a find for a Girl’s Trip
This home was perfect for our extended weekend girl’s trip and birthday celebration! Coming from the San Francisco Bay Area, we were ready for some sand, sun, and surf in addition to some rest and relaxation. The accommodations did not disappoint and provided us with everything we were looking for: ample space, a prime location, and top-notch cleanliness. We stayed in the second-floor unit, which had nice views from the Juliet balcony and great privacy. There were quite a few stairs to reach the unit, but if you’re in decent shape and have no issues with stairs, it’s easy breezy. The two bedrooms were roomy, and the living room sofa has a pullout bed if extra sleeping space is needed. There is also a rollaway bed. The piece-de-resistance is the rooftop area that provides extraordinary views, which is especially enjoyable while sipping a glass of wine! We did that often. The owners were very responsive to all of our questions and very sweet to welcome us with a note, flowers, milk, and yummy blueberry muffins. We even had our own dedicated parking space in front of the house. The flat screen TV gave us a bit of a challenge, largely due to user error (we couldn’t figure it out). The owners 12-year-old son promptly arrived to show us how to use it, and voila, we mastered it! Let me add that he was so smart and funny! Lol We would book this home again in a heartbeat! In fact, we plan to do so again in the near future. Thanks to the hosts for a fabulous stay in a lovely home, in a perfect “walkable” location!

Lots of light and space! Great hosts, great location
We stayed here for 4 weeks and enjoyed every minute. We could walk to excellent restaurants or cook in the well-equipped kitchen or grill on the large deck. The beach is a short walk away; parking is provided; shopping is convenient. The unit is light-filled and spacious and the outdoor space is fantastic. The hosts are great.

Fantastic Location
We were in LA to attend my daughters graduation from UCLA. The location was fantastic and the house was a great set up for our adult children. The kitchen had everything we needed and the roof top deck was so relaxing and a perfect place for enjoying the beautiful weather and amazing view. We loved having a sink, small frig and extra half bath on the deck! Joe and Sara were very responsive to our questions and the welcome flowers, milk and muffins were so thoughtful. There were great restaurants within walking distance. It was wonderful to have parking included. The unit is on the second floor- and two more sets of stairs to reach the second deck so we did get our steps in- but it was worth it. Those with mobility issues may have difficulty. The house was clean, and nicely furnished. The master bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood was very quiet. The single beds in the 2nd bedroom were a little squeaky- but everyone slept fine. The third bedroom is set apart from the main living - would not be good for small children - but was perfect for us. I would not hesitate to come back and hope we can find an occasion to visit again.

Great location close to shops and restaurants
The hosts ensured that we had everything we needed for our stay in the apartment space. There were plenty of towels and detergent, and even some basic groceries for coffee. The apartment was well-appointed and clean, which made up for the fact that the building itself is a bit dated (although very clean). The hosts provided their contact details, but we didn't need to call them and we hardly even knew they were there -- even though the main house entrance is shared, it was all very separate and private. The roof space is lovely. One thing to be aware of: There are two bathrooms, but only one is in the main apartment. The second bedroom and bathroom are on the same level as the main apartment, but slightly detached from the rest of the apartment. This was not a problem for us at all because we were all adults and were fine sharing the main bathroom with our son during the night. For families of really young children, just be aware that the third room is not right next door. The neighborhood and location is wonderful, and the hosts made everything easy for us on property.

Family visit
My husband, my parents, and I stayed here while visiting other family. We were able to have a lovely family dinner up on the rooftop using the grill and then gathered in the living room for games. The beds were comfortable although a little squeaky when settling in. There was very little noise from the street or from the residents on the first floor. This location is fantastic! We were able to walk to local restaurants and shops, the park overlooking the beach, and Third Street Promenade. If that is too much walking for you, there are plenty of public parking ramps and metered street spots along the way. Joe and Sara were quick to respond to all of my questions. We would definitely book this spot again!

Great neighborhood and amazing views!
This apartment is on the second floor of character-filled1920’s home. I believe the owners live on the main floor and there is another VRBO unit somewhere down the side of the house. My husband and I traveled with another couple and were looking for a home to stay in the North of Montana neighborhood. Many parts of Santa Monica have issues with homeless, noise, and crime, but the North of Montana neighborhood has none of those issues. The neighborhood did not disappoint. It is quiet and very walkable to great restaurants, shopping, and the beach is 13 blocks away, This apartment has a roof-top deck with amazing panoramic views. Sara and Joe were very nice and even gave us a nice fruit salad for us to snack on. The kitchen was pretty well stocked and worked very well for us. All that being said, the setup of this unit works better for a family. We were traveling with another couple and thought 3 bedrooms and 3 baths would give each couple privacy and their own bathroom. That was not really the case. The main apartment is actually a 2 bedroom and one bath unit. One bedroom has a King bed and the other has 2 twins. The shared bathroom is large with a tub, shower, and double sinks. The third bedroom and second bathroom are actually outside of the unit on the way out to the deck. It is a small room with one twin bed and a small but functional bath with a shower. The third bathroom is actually a 1/2 bath that is up on the rooftop deck level. Also, I believe the couch in the living room is a sleeper couch which again would be nice for a family. The in unit washer and dryer were really convenient. I would recommend this apartment (especially for a family) as long as you are aware of the way it is set up. You will love the neighborhood and the host’s hospitality!

Fantastic Experience
The property is in a great location - close to lots of restaurants and shops - and within walking distance of just about anywhere you want to go in Santa Monica. It is on a quiet street, which aided us in simply having down time and relaxing. It was perfect for our group. Roof top was ideal for our small Easter Brunch. Owners are great.
