Pasadena Paradise

We absolutely loved every minute spent in the San Rafael home! It is more beautiful than mere photos can depict! Duane communicated so well with us before and during our stay. He is a perfectionist and all was perfectly perfect! The grounds are filled with gorgeous flowers and plants, the pool area is inviting and relaxing, the layout of the home is perfect for 8, and the kitchen, den, and living room are lovely bright and cozy. Gas fireplaces and lovely paintings throughout, a ping pong table, and basketball hoop—what more can you ask for! I highly recommend this home and this host. The attention to detail and warm hospitality were top notch. We hope to return as soon as possible. Everyone in our family loved it, and wished we could stay forever! Thank you so very much for sharing your Pasadena Paradise with us while we celebrated our son’s college graduation. We enjoyed every minute!

Beautiful house - excellent stay

The house is equipped with everything. Pool/spa/cabana/living room/sitting area/bedrooms were all very comfortable and nicely furnished / decorated.. Owners were excellent in communication and ease of process. We would look forward to a renting again.

A well located and beautiful property

Duane and Linda’s beautifully furnished home is perfectly set up for family stays and was very welcoming for our young grandsons and the adults. The pool and hot tub had toys galore which were used heavily. The very well equipped gourmet kitchen made meal prep easy as was the home’s proximity to markets. Bedrooms were all comfortable. Most important, though, was our hosts accessibility. They are great.

Elegant and peaceful

We loved every aspect of this welcoming home in the Pasadena area. It was a quiet neighborhood and the house is surrounded by the most intriguing gardens. Each room of the home was thoughtfully laid out for guests to feel as though we were "home" during our stay. The owners were easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who would appreciate a gracious place to stay while visiting the area.

Outstanding Home in Pasadena

We booked this house as a gathering point for our son's graduation. We had family coming in from many places around the country and needed a place that could would be reoomy enough and comfortable enough. Linda and Duane's home couldn't have been more perfect for our stay. With a large beautiful kitchen were able to prepare some delicious dinners, and the pool and hottub were a wonderful respite from the heat of the day. Nicely decorated with tons of conveniences, the home was even better than I had hoped for. Duane and Linda were always accessible and helpful for any questions we had. I cannot recommend this home enough!

San Rafael House Spring Break 2023

Wow - the San Rafael House experience hosted by Linda & Duane was world class from every possible angle! We had excellent communications back and forth to ensure stay readiness ahead of check in. Directions and a host visit to ensure we were comfortable upon check in were a supreme touch. The San Rafael house is a beautiful home kept in immaculate condition. Landscaping, gardens, lighting and patio/pool/cabana area are gorgeous, inviting and wonderful. Open floor plan on first floor for spreading out and has tons of natural light. So warm & inviting. All Bedrooms and bathrooms perfect all around. Neighborhood is quiet and surrounding areas wonderful for walking, jogging, etc. Lower Arroyo Secco trail is close by for a great walk or jog to the Rose Bowl Stadium and back. We were in town to visit my brother who lives 15 minutes away in Alhambra and to see as many things possible in LA. San Rafael House is super great for access to Pasadena (Santa Anita Race Track 15 mins away), neighboring Highland Park (numerous great restaurants) and a starting point for all LA has to offer (Griffith Park & Planetarium, Zoo, Beverly Hills, Museums - such as Motion Picture/Broad/MOCA, Sony Movie Studio Tour, Art Galleries, Dodger Stadium, Beaches Long Beach/Manhattan/Malibu, Mountains, etc.). Our Family remarked it was the best vacation ever. When returning to the area, securing a stay at San Rafael House will be trip action plan step #1!

Perfect Pasadena Home

This house is amazing. Fantastic location, large comfortable and cozy home has every amenity. Pool, hot tub and pool cabana was the icing on the cake. Spectacular fully equipped kitchen. Can't say enough good things about this property.

Perfect vacation home

A magnificent vacation home and owners that made everything easy from check-in to departure. They went beyond my expectations to accommodate us. My children and grandchildren loved the home, the beautiful pool, fabulous outdoor space as well as the home’s fabulous kitchen. I have rented homes before in the Pasadena, LA area which were all lovely but this home and experience was by far the easiest, most relaxing and magical, thanks to the lovely owners and their lovely home.

Beautiful Home

A perfect home for a large group. We were two couples with 2 adult children and two teens. What a beautiful place! The plant materials were gorgeous! Classy and comfortable place, decorated beautifully and made to feel like home. Linda and Duane were so helpful and hospitable and we were lucky that they shared their home with us. If we are back in the area. We know where we will go!

San Rafael House

We had very high expectations based on the details/photos of the VRBO listing and the rental rate. This property exceeded our expectations by far. The house, the garden, the pool, the neighborhood, the location relative to the greater LA area: all great. What's not to like? We will re-book this property in a heartbeat if/when we need to return to LA. The owners were very nice to work with. This has to be one of the greatest VRBO listings. Not kidding.

Lovely oasis

Duane and Linda’s home is both comfortable and beautiful! We enjoyed the spacious and well-outfitted kitchen, multiple well-furnished sitting areas, and comfortable and beautifully covered beds. And the yard and gardens are simply gorgeous. We made use of them during our stay for our daughter’s college graduation—had a few of her friends over and everyone loved the pool, spa, cabana and fragrant plantings. Staying here made our time not just a special occasion but a wonderful vacation. Many great restaurants nearby in Pasadena and Eagle Rock, and convenient to Occidental College. Thank you, Duane and Linda for a stay to remember!

A wonderful property

We were here for five days for grand children’s spring school break. This house was superb. Very clean and bright, flowers everywhere, superb kitchen equipment. The pool and hot tub were great. Communication with hosts easy and totally pleasant. We recommend this property most highly.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property and would overwhelming recommend it! Impeccably well-kept, has everything you could ever want from a waffle-maker to high-quality shampoo and conditioners. :) The pool, hot tub, and cabana were our favorites, and we spent most of our time outdoors enjoying those areas. Don't think twice - book it!

This home is an excellent vacation rental. It's really clean, in great shape and has lots of extras. The pool, spa and gazebo with huge TV and fireplace were great. People who love to cook will find everything they need. The owners are great people and easy to contact.

Beautiful and comfortable home!

This location is easily accessible to main roads leading to everything L.A. The local area is impressive with shops and restaurants. This home is quiet and oh so comfortable. The gardens in the front and back are picturesque. The pool and spa are lovely and private. This home is perfectly stocked with everything you need in the kitchen, bathroom as well as pool towels and televisions (indoors and out). We highly recommend this home.
