In order to combat unsolicited parties and be kind neighbours we have a noise monitoring device in the apartment (this is a camera free device which you can find more about online by searching for Minut). Should the noise breach a certain level after 8pm for a sustained period of time then we will be alerted and will call the Police to attend the apartment to put a stop whatever is taking place. Your reservation will then be terminated with no refunds and your security deposit retained.
We are proud to be good neighbours and absolutely will not tolerate anti social behaviour of any kind whatsoever.

We had the fire alarm battery CHIRPING the entire time (day and night) we were there. Got zero response from anyone after several emails to have it fixed. We tried to remove the cover to be able to replace the battery ourselves however it was difficult to pry off and we didn’t want to wreck it. The upstairs shower didn’t drain and quickly water covered the bathroom floor as it flooded over. We didn’t use the shower again. Other places we have rented have warned about construction in the area, we were surprised to be directly across from a demolition site. Minimal towels available for use—and no dryer so we could wash our towels and be able to reuse them (Especially when we had to mop the bathroom floor up from the shower flood). The door handle fell off on the bathroom door and the other one was about to fall off. Just really disappointing. I’ve never had zero response from a property manager before using VRBO. I do not recommend this property for these reasons.

Overstated
The location and cleanliness of this listing are fine. The kitchen is updated; but the dishes are make do. Here's the challenges. There's 90 steep stairs to climb to access the apartment. The beds are very uncomfortable. The first floor bed is little more than a flimsy uneven box spring on the floor with a thin mattress. The second floor has one uneven hard as a rock bed and another bed with springs poking you in the back. There's 2.5 baths; but only one shower. The shower overflows after roughly 1 minute, as does the sink. So neither drains. The other full bath is a tub with a wand and no curtain or splash protection. The rooms are sparsely decorated with nowhere to sit and limited places for luggage. While we were staying the heat and hot water was off for roughly 8 hours. Given it was November in London, the apartment was damp and wet our entire stay; but perhaps because the heat was off for a period.
You get a full dose of city noise, ranging from 24x7 car traffic, people on the street late at night, subway noises and early morning jack hammers, diesel engines and hammering motorized sledges from the construction across the street.
This place is not suitable for mature adults; but would work for young people who can afford more than a hostel.

Great for location and larger families
This apartment had room enough for our family of 7. Robert did great with communications with us with directions as well as answering questions during our stay. The bathrooms and kitchen are updated nicely however some minor maintenance items are needed so doors latch etc. the building is very old and they did a nice job working with the age and character. Note: this apartment is on the 4th floor and only accessible via steps.

Five day London Break
Five of us stayed at the apartment on a recent family break to London. The apartment accommodated 5 adults comfortably.
Pros:
Central location for all main tourist attractions
High standard of cleanliness in apartment
Cons:
Very noisy environment.
Nearby eateries/coffee shops closed on Saturdays/Sundays
Insufficient dry towels provided
Leaking ceiling in main bathroom when raining outside

Wonderful stay on London
We very much enjoyed our stay for three nights at this property. We are a family of five (2 adults, 3 kids ages 15, 12, 10). Extremely convenient to Blackfriars and Thameslink Station for getting around London. Toured the Tower of London, Burrough Market, Westminster Abby, Buckingham Palace, Wimbledon, the National Gallery, Chelsea FC, among other sites. Short walk across the Thames to a performance at the Globe Theatre one evening - great experience. At the end of our visit, we caught an early morning Eurostar train to Paris by taking a short journey from Thameslink to St. Pancras. Many restaurants near property to choose from. It was actually quite nice to be in the heart of the bustling financial district each day rather than among throngs of tourists, so we could experience more of the typical everyday London life. Property was clean with a full kitchen though we did not cook - just stored items from local grocery stores for breakfast and snacks. Apartment is on third floor of building - required walking up stairs but no issue at all for our family. Definitely recommend this property to others!

Wonderful neighborhood
We really enjoyed the flat. We walked to Musical Tina. We found 3 historic pubs. Flat was modern and comfortable. Wish it had an elevator. Three flights of stairs was difficult with luggage.

Absolutely perfect location and lots of space
We stayed for 5 days and the location was excellent. It was a 2 min. walk to St. Pauls Cathedral and walking distance to Leister Square, theatre district and lots of great restaurants. The apartment was very clean and spacious. It had a washing machine and dishwasher. We loved it!
