Checking the mini-bar for cheating is not nice
the place is interestingly historic, with that old flavor and service. What made end my stay with no good feelings was that they came to check the minibar the morning I was leaving. Setting the bottles (of beer) upside down and checking the taps (in case I had drank them and left them fakedly closed in the mini-bar??). Very humiliating and, in my opinion, unnecessary. If they think I can pay almost 300 euros for a room, and then do something so cheap as to sneak a 2-euros beer without paying...I had never seen anything like it, and was certainly not expecting it in a 4-star hotel

Reservamos junior suite. Nos dieron una que daba al aparcamiento. Pedimos cambio a una que diera al mar, como otras veces. Nos cambiaron a una suite en 5ª planta que daba al mar. Pero cuando la visitábamos, dijeron por telele fondo que había una confusión y que la que nos correspondía era en la primera planta, con la “magnífica y única vista” vista del tejado del comedor, sin ver el mar y con un cargo de 80 € diarios, cuando habitualmente hemos estado en otras habitaciones con vistas al mar y de categoría inferior. Pedimos cambio y nos dijeron que estaba todo ocupado, lo que no era cierto.

La Covid-19 no ayuda a que sea un lugar "cálido"
La estancia ha sido correcta aunque es verdad que la situación por la Covid-19 hace que cualquier lugar parezca inhóspito, no hay casi huéspedes, salas "fantasmas", comedores cerrados, pero todo ello comprensible en el momento en que nos encontramos.

la maravillosa ciudad de estoril
Estupendamente una ciudad hermosa y un hotel magnifico ....super lindo muy bien conservado y cuidado .La atencion increible .Una piscina regia e inclusive cuenta con el acceso a un gimnasio spa espectacular .Nos fue de maravilla .

This should NOT be rated a 5 star VIP property. Rooms are old and outdated. There is an old carpet probably from 1969 and the rooms are not of a 5 star hotel. We checked in and checked out within 2 hours of arriving.

Terrible stay at this place. Lots of noise from an extractor from 5am. Iron burnt my clothes. Hair dryer broken. Window curtains broken and I have picture for proof of all of this. This is more like a 2 star hotel.

Liked:Leisure facilities, breakfast, the history of the hotel Didn't like: Rooms and furnishings need to be updated. Communication between visitor and staff was poor at times. Slowness of housekeeping - took 20mins to get a cup and saucer delivered as there were none in the room. Also asked housekeeper to take away drinks from minibar - this took ages to be done and then we were charged on final bill for the entire minibar (this was corrected after told the depts didn't communicate this request to each other). Overall it was a nice hotel but if you are staying in a "5 star" hotel you expect a "5 star" level of customer service - unfortunately we did not feel we got this.

De retour après 30 ans, rien n'a changé toujours de la classe ! Maintenant accès à la piscine intérieure par le spa. Buffet déjeuner vaut le détour, mimosa inclu.

Charming and efficient with lots of history
This was my countless time at the hotel, but I had to tell the reception staff. Although I don’t need or want a red carpet return. It would be nice to be remembered. So may be a new computer would help?! Nevertheless, the hotel is charming and staff are nice and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, but may be some more power sockets, for the times we live in, would be extremely helpful. The spa is amazingly relaxing and well looked after. A heated outdoor pool is very much needed and I’m sure would be welcome by other guests The bar ais nice in the evening, but the cafe attached could be lovely, but needs a complete makeover. Can’t help thinking that it’s days are unfortunately numbered - I’m sure major hotel chains are banging on the door to get their dirty hands on destroying it and making it another intercontinental or Sheraton or mandarin 😩

On the whole the staff were excellent with the exception of reception; they were lovely but had to be reminded twice of some of the details of our booking E.g. a discount on food and drinks plus a bottle of wine in the room. The breakfast is excellent as is the bar, with a great range of cocktails and a fascinating history.

An absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was fabulous. We enjoyed reading about the history of the hotel. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The only negative was our dinner at the hotel was very disappointing. On the other hand, the breakfast, the next morning was outstanding.

Très bel hôtel, grande piscine, et piscine intérieure chauffée, le personnel et très accueillant, la plage a 5 min à pied, seul ic le room service n’est pas à la hauteur d’un 5 étoile. Sinon c’était super!

An old world grand hotel with very attentive staff. I cannot fault the hotel, except that the pool water has no heating and this should be mentioned in the info about the hotel. The highlight is the staff who try to assist all guests in every way possible.
