I am sad to say but we didn't have a good experience staying in tis apartment. The apartment is spacious and was very clean. But this is where the positives ended for us. We stayed in Lisbon over Christmas when outdoor temperature were down to the mid 40s F. The apartment was very cold. Each room had a small space heater but with tall ceilings in the apartment they just were not enough to properly warm up the space. The bathrooms were cold as well. As some of the previous guests have noted, the odor from a couple of the bathrooms was so strong and unpleasant that we were not comfortable to use them. The pipes are very old and would benefit from some treatment to neutralize the odor.Additionally, we were not informed that the building's staircase is going to be renovated even though there were notices posted in the building informing about the scheduled work months in advance. There was scaffolding, buckets of paint and supplies right by the entry door, noise from 8am, dust from sanding the stairs and walls was entering the apartment through the gaps in the door. When we complained to VRBO Paula tried to accuse me of not telling the truth, she was evasive and did not take responsibility for not being forthcoming regarding planned renovation work. We have presented photos and videos document the conditions. We have decided to leave the apartment and had to find a new place to stay even though Paula has refused to issue a refund for the remaining days of the stay.
