Charming Flat right in the heart of Alfama

  • El apartamento está situado en uno de los edificios más antiguos del barrio de Alfama, sus cimientos se remontan al siglo XII. Fue parcialmente destruida por el terremoto de 1755 y más tarde fue reconstruida por el conde de Arcos, virrey de Brasil, para su alojamiento en el siglo XVIII.
    Esta es una oportunidad única de alojarse en un apartamento con encanto, reformado en 2013 en un edificio que forma parte de la historia de Lisboa, Portugal y Brasil.
    Bien situado en el barrio de Alfama, el barrio más antiguo de Lisboa, y probablemente el más auténtico. De origen árabe, su nombre significa "fuentes". Ramble través y perderse en ella es medievales calles estrechas, sus callejones, plazas y patios. También cerca del mirador de Santa Lucía y al lado de la Iglesia del Jesús infantil y al lado del castillo de San Jorge.
    El apartamento tiene un dormitorio, cocina, comedor, sala de estar y cuarto de baño.

    - Rossio Square y la estación de tren están a 1500 metros del apartamento.

    Tradicionalmente una comunidad de pescadores, Alfama aún conserva mucho de su encanto de antaño. Usted verá los tejados de terracota, paredes encaladas y balcones llenos de flores.
    Histórico, pintoresco, encantador y nostálgico. Esta es Alfama, el barrio más antiguo de Lisboa. Usted encontrará algunos de los mejores bares de fado aquí a lo largo de las calles empedradas. Sólo tienes que seguir la música!

Great apartment in Alfama

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location was great and we loved the hosts restaurant recommendations too. It’s an older apartment with one flight of steep stairs up, but nothing that isn’t common for the neighborhood. Lots to do and explore nearby, the host even helped arrange a taxi for us to the airport at 4am. Great place to stay!

Super appartement, très propre, situé dans un quartier très animé. Juan, le propriétaire n’était pas sur place mais il est resté très disponible. Je recommande

Disappointed

I arrived at the tail end of a major storm, the property was cold damp dark and not all the heaters were working, when I booked I was fully aware that it was an old property in an old area, it lacked general supplies that were expected and I felt the kitchen was on the grubby side, microwave was dirty. No where on Stayz site does it state I needed to pay a city tax. I’m sure the host will give negative comments about me as that seems to be the norm when anyone gives a low rating. The shower was very good.

Can't beat the location. Kitchen and dining area great

Overall we had a very nice stay. Within 5 minutes walk, there are at least 15 restaurants (many with evening fado), 2 great pastelarias, and 3 markets. It is also easy to get from the Santa Apolonia station and to walk to the Praça Comercio for trams. It's not a very quiet neighborhood as a result but that's probably just Lisbon's enthusiasm. Steep stairs (but just one flight) to get into the flat which is, in fact, charming and a bit funky in terms of layout. Washing machine worked great (there is a decent drying rack but not a dryer), and kitchen perfectly functional. Current coffee maker takes Nespresso pods, available at local market, FYI.

séjour agréable malgré nuisances sonores la nuit

L'accueil est très sympathique, efficace et disponible. L'appartement est agréable et pratique à vivre. Très bien situé dans le quartier Alfama, à l'ambiance joviale, proche de restos typiques qui jouent du fado tous les soirs. Un gros bémol : le passage du camion poubelle qui stationne à la hauteur de la fenêtre de la chambre, fait des manœuvres de recul avec les bruits qui vont avec. Les rues d'Alfama étant très étroites, le camion reste ici le temps que les ripeurs amènent et rapportent les containers des rues voisines, en les faisant rouler sur les pavés. Un important brouhaha toutes les nuits aux alentours de 2h du matin, pendant de très longues minutes. L'installation de fenêtres double vitrage pourrait atténuer ce problème.

Wonderful hideway in old town!

This is a fantastic place to stay in residential Old Town Lisbon it's Central and close to everything and it makes you feel like you're living in Lisbon and not just a tourist. The apartment itself is fabulous it's super clean and comfortable. Furnishings are all up to date and comfortable. It's beautifully designed and has all of the amenities that you will need. I loved waking up in the morning and opening the shutters and windows onto a light filled Square, and loved shutting the shutters at night to put myself into a dark sleeping cocoon. I wish I could have this as my summer home! The management of the property was fantastic. They were responsive and gave me all the information I needed up front. Check-in was super simple, they met me at my preferred time to give me the keys. Check out was even easier, I just left the key and walked out. During my stay I had a couple of questions and they were always very responsive, answering within an hour. The one caveat is that the apartment is on the second floor with a steep set of stairs leading up to it, so this may be difficult for someone who's mobility challenged. Also a tip: Uber and Bolt are not allowed to drive in the old town residential streets, but licensed taxis can. So coming from the airport or the train station catch a licensed taxi, and when you leave make a reservation for a taxi otherwise you will be hauling your luggage up and down a very steep street.

Magical place

I will stay in any apartment Juan Batiste manages. Helpful, kind and upfront. Sweet apartment with everything you need for a long or short stay. Bed was fine. Nice clean bathroom and room to move around. Kinda noisy at night but I didn’t care because we wanted to be in the thick of things. Would stay again. Thank you Juan.

Très bien situé dans l'Alfama, quartier typique et plein de charme, l'appartement reste proche des autres quartiers. Il est joliment décoré (les photos reflètent bien l'atmosphère), bien équipé et très propre. Nous avons été très bien accueillis.

Perfect apartment for a couple

Very nice apartment, ideal for a couple, at the heart of the old Lisbon, very close to Puerta do Sol. You can't make a mistake by choosing it.

Great location, nice clean comfortable house. Loved the little neighborhood plaza right outside with lots of restaurants close by. Very centrally located to see lots of sights within walking or tut tut distance.

Beautiful and Charming

Juan was an amazing host, who was easy to communicate with and spent the time to check us in and highlight all the places he recommended in Lisbon. The apartment is just as cute if not better than the photos. Fully equipped kitchen/laundry. It was so perfect, location was close to all train stations and the main sights. Not to mention the apartment was situated in a small square and right in the centre of Alfama. There were celebrations and patios close by, but the moment we closed our windows we had the most peaceful sleep. When we return we will be booking the same apartment.
