The property next door is under construction, it was very loud during the day. The entrance and stairs were very dark, other than that this old building was well kept and the rooms are beautiful

buen sitio però servicio muy poco flexible
En general el establecimiento es bonito , limpio y en una muy buena zona de la ciudad . Lo único que no me gusto’ fue el trato del personal de reception cuando pedí si por favor podían prepararme un pequeño desayuno para llevar como tenía que salir pronto (a las 8) para ir al aeropuerto y la respuesta fue : no, lo sentimos . Hay que decir que había un total de 1 o 2 huéspedes aquella noche y no creo haber pedido algo imposible .

Experiencia decepcionante
Elegimos este B&B por los buenos comentarios sobre el anfitrión y las fotos bonitas de su web. Sin embargo, fue experiencia muy decepcionante. La decoración de la habitación es agradable y la ubicación no está lejos del centro. Uno de los principales problemas es que las habitaciones no están insonorizadas, y puedes oír las conversaciones de la habitación de al lado, así como los pasillos. No hay nada de intimidad. Por otra parte, el baño es un cubículo prefabricado dentro de la habitación, y cuando te duchas se acumula mucha humedad. Contrariamente a lo que leímos la amabilidad del personal, la mujer que nos recibió era nueva y no pudo ayudarnos ni a recomendar un parking ni con sitios de interés. Caro para lo que ofrecen teniendo en cuenta la gran disponibilidad hotelera de la zona. Normalmente elegimos B&B porque nos gustan los lugares con encanto y que nos hagan recomendaciones, en este caso no salimos decepcionados con ambas cosas.

Staying in the heart of Principe Real was wonderful. The hotel was charming and offered a wonderful light breakfast daily. The rooms were stunning and our room had beautiful floor to ceiling windows that opened and overlooked the street. There is a lovely park with coffee spots and vendors and music and a restaurant right across the street which we loved! Would definitely recommend!

The room was clean and had character, but could use some sprucing up (broken tiles, etc). The biggest issue was that the mini fridge did not work (and smelled moldy). Good area, friendly staff. Mediocre breakfast with great fresh OJ. Note: I booked a taxi (to the airport) through the hotel. I was told it was €35 cash. Arrive at the airport and driver had no change. None. So I gave her a 50 and received nothing back. What if I’d only had 100 euro bill? You need to advise your guests of this or speak with the taxi service.

Beautiful old building, in a great location for walking into the city and surrounding areas, metro is close by. Room was Beautiful and facing the park, couldn't hear much noise from the road. Breakfast was lovely each morning, the breakfast room was small and a bit cramped when tables were full but it was manageable. Would definitely stay again.

I really liked that it is princess/prince themed. That is the main reason why I booked it. The breakfast was fine. I wished it had lunch and dinner. And a place to bring groceries if one wants to cook and or put food from the restaurants and eat it later. A fridge, stove, and a place to do laundry would have been great. There was also a lot of really noisy construction going on. I did not like that at all. I also needed to get refunded because I had an emergency at the apartment I already booked prior to booking the stay. The water boiler broke and I did not know when it would have been fixed but it was fixed like 2 -3 days prior of me staying at the hotel. Super furious they would not let me cancel it due to an emergency and it is no longer needed.

First it was sold as Hotel, it’s not a hotel, it’s less than a B&B. No garden at all, building under renovation with all heavy machinery work extremely noisy and stressful. Extremely poor breakfast, same cheese and same unhealthy processed meet for the whole week. The staff seen that I bought my own breakfast after 2 nd day. No reception at all, a desk between 2 rooms. Extremely noisy wooden floors, people walked on the floor above till 01:28 am with heavy heels .. corridor lights coming under the door and on the sides of the door at 6 am. From 6 am it was like I had a light in my room, woke me up every single morning.. terrible stay, I feel sorry for the wonderful staff , Antonio specially is a great staff , very very helpful. The so called reception desk was next to my door, the lady receptionist was coughing and cleared her throat every few minutes every morning she was on duty.. construction machineries from 7 am, corridor lights around door into my room from 06:05 am .. horrible stay .

Dear Crina,We are sorry to know that this was not what you expected.We are a Bed & Breakfast and not an Hotel, that makes all the difference, and that is written in all platfforms. Casa do Principe is located on the first floor of a 19th century building, so of course the mantenance and constructions are different.The building next to us is on contruction but due to Portuguese law we can not due anything about it, since they wok on working hours and we are in the city center.Last but not least, it was a pleasure for us making you a surprise free upgrade during your stay, since you made the reservation for an Historic Room, and we put you in a Premium Room with a private balcony .Warmest regards,

The entrance was not clean, no light at first when open the main door. No one available to welcome us. It was a bit scary. The property owner could add an automatic light at the entrance and have a sign to indicate guest where to go. Add more towels to the room. Have a more variety of breakfast. They serve the same thing every morning.
