Fantastic house, wonderful views and location

We were a couple of families, 6 people, and we had a great time in the house and in the area. Plenty of space to stay, and for the children to play, we all enjoy a lovely week. The house is exactly as it is explained, and it has everything you can need (including domo, SDA, textiles,...). The pool needs to be warmed in advance, we have it at our temperature 5 days after our arrival, although the children enjoyed anyway.

Semana fantástica.

Hemos pasado una semana fantástica en la casa do mar. Tiene unas vistas espectaculares y está muy bien equipada. La piscina con el agua templada fue un lujo ya que el tiempo no acompañó del todo. Sin duda volvería a alquilar. Familia Hernández García de Caceres.España

Wir hatten eine schöne Woche in dem gut ausgestatteten Ferienhaus mit traumhaftem Blick aus allen Etagen. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, über einen kleinen Weg erreicht man den Strand in etwa zwölf Minuten. Das Haus ist komfortabel eingerichtet, die Betten in den drei Schlafzimmern sind bequem und die Küche gut ausgestattet. Waschmaschine und Trockner sind vorhanden, was sehr praktisch ist. Kleine Mängel: Es fehlen ein paar Eierbecher, scharfe Messer und ein großer Topf zum Kochen für mehrere Personen. Geschirr und Kochutensilien wirken eher einfach und nicht besonders hochwertig. Man merkt, dass das Haus nicht mehr neu ist. Störend waren die unangenehmen Gerüche in den Bädern, besonders im En-Suite-Bad im 1. OG. Trotz Lüften blieb ein starker Fäkalgeruch, die Dufterfrischer waren leer, sodass wir selbst einen nachkaufen mussten. Auch dauert es lange, bis warmes Wasser fließt, und gleichzeitiges Duschen ist nicht möglich – mit fünf Personen kann das mühsam werden. Der Kontakt zur Property Managerin war etwas verwirrend, da sie mehrfach anrief, obwohl der Zugang über einen Schlüsseltresor vereinbart war. Die Verständigung auf Englisch war schwierig. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter verlief dagegen reibungslos und sehr freundlich, besonders dank des späteren Check-outs am Abreisetag. Insgesamt ein schönes Haus in toller Lage, aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt nicht ganz. Der versprochene Luxus entspricht nicht ganz der Ausstattung bzw. dem Zustand des Hauses.

This is a stunning location overlooking the surfers in the Atlantic below. The property was extremely well equipped, clean, spacious, and high quality. Khristina was extremely welcoming, well informed, and responsive. Great place for relaxing and touring surrounding villages.

Traumhaftes Ferienhaus mit toller Aussicht.Wir hatten hier einen wunderbare erholsame zwei Wochen verbracht. Im Haus hat es an nichts gefehlt. Den Pool haben wir so gut wie gar nicht genutzt da es nur ca. 15 min zu Fuß zum Strand waren. In der Gegend gibt es viele gute Restaurants und im Nachbarort sehr gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.

Beautiful Property

The property is beautiful with amazing views. It was also very clean. Christina was very helpful in getting us familiar with the workings of the house. When we contacted her to ask that the pool be cleaned due to a big storm the night before, the pool cleaner was there very quickly, and the owner was very responsive to our questions. My only issue was the heating of the pool. I was assured when I made the reservation that the pool would be heated and agreed to pay extra since this was October. The description in VRBO clearly says "heated pool." However it was not heated when we arrived and was told it would be too expensive to heat and would take too long. The owner did say he would heat it if we wanted, but it might not be fully heated until near the end of our stay. If the pool had been heated when we arrived, as I was told it would be, this would not have been an issue. Also, a cover on the pool might make it less expensive to heat. Once again, the property is beautiful, but we were not able to enjoy all of the amenities.

Incredible Views

The house is situated at the end of the street in a nice neighborhood with similar style homes. Using Google maps, it was easy to find. Khristina was waiting for us, she was very pleasant and showed us the house and provided helpful tips on how to keep things working smoothly. The house is as pictured in the listing. The one room not shown is the kitchen, although small it also includes the washer and dryer. Very compact, but well designed to include all needed appliances, but counter space is lacking. Can’t have more than one person cooking. Also would have liked simple instructions on how to use the appliances, The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. The bed linens could be better, they are made from synthetic material, making sleeping a bit uncomfortable. We also had some issues with bathroom smells, were told that it depended on the wind direction. Khristina quickly provided pointers on how to deal with the issue, and it worked well. The pool was very cold and although a hot tub is listed, there was no hot tub. Getting to the beach from the house is a 15 min hike. We enjoyed the hike. But there was plenty of parking and a great boardwalk and restaurants should you drive to the beach. We were there in September, weather was warm, but often very windy, so on those days we’d head out on day trips. A car is a must, grocery stores are about 6 minute drive away and there are many attractions within an hours drive. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay.

Traumhaftes Ferienhaus mit unbezahlbaren Aussichten

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus ist wirklich phantastisch- jedes Detail durchdacht- so z.B riesige Fensterfronten, elektrische Rollläden..tolle Betten - wir haben durchwegs sehr gut geschlafen- eine sehr gut ausgestattete Küche… und Vieles mehr. Wir wurden durch den Eigentümer perfekt betreut - auf Nachfragen - es fiel einmal kurz der Strom aus- wurde innerhalb kürzester Zeit reagiert. Der Weg zum Strand und zum kleinen Ort mit Restaurants und einem kleinen Supermarkt ist gut zu Fuß zu erledigen - größere Supermärkte (Intermarche, Lidl, Aldi) sind mit dem Auto ca. 5 Minuten entfernt. Insgesamt eine klare Weiterempfehlung - wir hatten schon viele Ferienhäuser, aber noch nie ein so toll ausgestattetes, in dem man sofort wohl fühlt und nicht mehr weg will.

Erholung garantiert

Wir haben einen tollen Urlaub genossen. Da meine Kinder schon alle außer Haus sind wollten wir nochmal alle gemeinsam Zeit verbringen und das Haus war für die 3 Generationen perfekt geeignet und bot viel Platz und somit Rückzugsmöglichkeiten für jeden. Das Wetter war für die Jahreszeit zwar nicht so schön wie Erhofft, aber dafür konnten wir dann auch den Luxus und Komfort des Hauses um so mehr genießen. Die Strandnähe mit der modernen Bar oder der etwas weiter aber dennoch Fußläufig zu erreichenden Strandpromenade waren ein Traum. Auch zu empfehlen ist der kleine Supermarkt im Dorf und ein Ausflug mit dem Katamaran von Peniche zur Insel Berlengas. Echt Sehenswert und Entspannung pur. Für Leute die Party & Action suchen ist das Haus jedoch etwas zu abgelegen. Vielen Dank nochmal an Stephan & Katja

Perfection!!

We just got back from a 4 day stay at this gorgeous house and the only thing wrong was that it wasn’t long enough!! The pictures don’t do it justice. The house is spotless with a well appointed kitchen and lots of space on the three levels to relax. The beds are comfortable as is the rest of the furniture. And the views are incredible. The housekeeper and host are amazing. Very easy to get in touch with and extremely helpful. We look forward to returning to Casa Do Mar soon! Thank you!!

Rooms with a view

We were so happy with our stay, the house was amazing and Stefan and Khristina were great and jumped on any concerns we had. They truly went above and beyond. Almost every room had a view of the ocean. The towns around the home had wonderful restaurants. If you didn't want to leave the paradise that is Lourinha you don't have to. But if you wanted to travel you can get to Porto in a couple hours and downtown Lisbon and/or Sintra in less than an hour. We wish we didn't have to leave!

Beautiful home

Our family (three sisters and husbands) really enjoyed our stay in Lourinha and this home worked out perfectly for us! Lots of extra rooms for people to have own space, several eating/dining areas and several outdoor deck areas. Well equipped, The views are amazing! Definitely would return! Communication with owner and property manager very good!
