We had a most pleasant week in Pedro's apartment in Alfama.
The reception by the owner himself as well as the good-bye were excellent and most helpful.
The apartment and the kitchen are spotless and fitted with everything and more you will ever need. WiFi is fast, the TV has international chains, too. The bathroom and the showers are small, but there is not much room in Alfama, and if you want to be in this part of Lisbon (it's simply the best) then you have to accept this.
The photos in the advert show the place exactly as it is.
There are several inexpensive restaurants and cafés nearby, and there is no better place for Fado than Alfama (the nearest original Fado-place is just 50 steps away from the apartment). And the Fado-Museum is just down the road (or should I say the footpath?). There are several shops within 100 m of the apartment, and a supermarket is in the trainstation by the river.
We did all Lisbon sights on foot except Belem, which is too far, but there is the tram or the tuc-tuc (vespa-taxi). Famous tram 28 stops not far from the apartment: just 300 m up the hill (distance, not altitude!).
As we were on a longer tour of Portugal and Spain, we came by car. Parking was safe (guarded carpark) and cheap (just 42 € for 7days - you pay that in 2 nights in Sevilla!) by the river Tejo, again not even 10 minutes from the apartment.
So we agree: Pedro's apartment is an excellent choice if you want to make the most out of your stay in Lisbon.
