Close to Sintra, Lisbon and on the coast

We chose this cottage because of the location and it was good for us. We don’t like crowds and love the coast. Sintra and Lisbon were easy Uber drives away and we got to experience staying in a picturesque cliffside village. The cottage garden was beautiful and inside had everything we needed. Our Host was great and very accessible. We had a lovely stay.

Small house in a beautiful location

The house offered all you need for a stay in walking distance to the beach. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach, to the small city and bars, but also the short driving distance to many locations in the area.

Alles ist wie beschrieben. Das Haus ist sauber und der Garten gepflegt. Die Betten waren für uns bequem und wir haben sehr gut geschafen. Selbst bei schlechtem Wetter haben wir uns in der Unterkunft sehr wohl gefühlt. Man hat alles was man benötigt. Ralph ist sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Rundum, haben wir die Zeit sehr genossen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Great holidays in Ralph's cottage

We spent our holidays in Sept. 2024 in Ralph's very beautiful cottage. The cottage is perfectly equipped - nothing is missing. Especially we enjoyed the large courtyard, which is beautifully designed with lots of plants, sunbeds, a brick grill and a seating area with a table and chairs. Ralph is a great host, very friendly and reliable. When we arrived, he gave us lots of great and useful tips about the place and the surrounding area. The house is nicely located in a quiet residential area, where there is also a mini market with everything you need. In the evenings you can relax in the garden with a barbecue or visit one of the several nice restaurants, which serve delicious local food. Great villa, great holiday!

We had a great stay here and a fantastic holiday. Ralph made the whole process very smooth and gave great recommendations for the local area. The villa was perfect for us- clean, well equipped and close to beaches, shops and restaurants. We loved it and hope to return!

Wonderful relaxing stay in a lovely house and great location

We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Ralph made us feel very welcome and was extremely helpful with recommendations on where to go and eat etc. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed, and was in a great location, minutes from the beach and local amenities, including supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Praia das Maçãs is a very chilled and relaxing place to stay and we met some lovely people. We stayed 12 nights and loved it. Thank you Ralph, we hope to be back! :-)

Relax Near the Ocean

This is one of a small group of cottages that were built years ago by the host's in-law family as vacation rentals. The cottages and the lovely garden areas have been impeccably maintained. You can hear the ocean from the courtyard where we spent many happy hours drinking local wine and snacking on local treats. It is a short walk down to the village center where there is an array of restaurants, shops, bakeries and markets. There is a beautiful farmers and fish market well worth visiting. The Sintra trolley ends its route here and busses run frequently. Ralph, the host, is on top of things. He answered my correspondence very promptly. One morning there was no hot water - we called and within 10 minutes he was there to change the gas tank which instantly fixed the problem. He has a wealth of knowledge not only about where to go and what to do, but also about the local culture, and shares as much as you want to know. Best advice - take an Uber to travel to/from Lisbon. We were a group of 4 and were quite comfortable here. Although it is convenient to Sintra, it is by far less hectic. This is truly a wonderful place to relax and experience Portugal.

Vacations on Portugal

We came to Sintra with our two boys for one week, our stay was wonderfull. We received a warm welcome and everything was perfect including the weather. Lovely Cottage with everything close by

We stayed at the cottage and used it as a base to visit Sintra. The location was great and the cottage has everything you need and is very clean and comfortable. Ralph was a great host and helped us with recommendations on food and transportation. The beach area is lovely with kind people and great food. Castle in Sintra are an easy visit without having to stay in the busy city. I would highly recommend and hope to come back one day!

Entspannter Urlaub in sehr schönem Haus

Wir waren mit unseren zwei kleinen Kinder in Ralphs sehr schönen Ferienhaus. Es war alles perfekt und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Die Kommunikation mit Ralph war auch im Voraus schon immer sehr nett und zuverlässig. Bei der Ankunft haben wir von ihm jede Menge tolle Tipps für den Ort und die Umgebung erhalten. Das Haus hat wirklich alles was man als Familie braucht. Sogar ein Sonnenschirm für den Strand und Sandspielzeug für die Kinder ist vorhanden :-). Das Haus liegt schön in einer ruhigen Wohngegend, in der es auch einen kleinen Minimarkt mit allem notwendigen gibt. Abends kann man sich in dem Garten schön beim Grillen entspannten :-) Vielen Dank noch einmal an Ralph für den super Aufenthalt und die Gastfreundschaft!

Comfy Cottage ocean stay

Was a cute little place. Very clean and tidy with a beautiful little front yard for hanging out. Ocean was a few minutes walk away. A great little town, with nice restaurants. Ralph the owner was very easy to deal with and told us much about things to do around the area. Can’t wait to visit again.

Charmant en authentiek

We hebben het erg naar onze zin gehad. Wandelen, zwemmen en lekker koken. Eigenlijk voornamelijk buiten geleefd op de riante patio. Een aanrader! Markt met locale producenten, mini-mercado met een goed wijnaanbod. Wat wil een mens nog meer. Ralph was een fijne gastheer.
