"Helpful staff and nice pub with decent food. Exterior room not anticipated - at back of car park and noisy with arrivals/deliveries etc. from 5am so sleep impossible. Room itself ok, basic but clean, but tiny shower room needed some tlc. Airport taxi from Gatwick a rip-off at £27: local one back £17! "

"The eight bells has been completely redecorated and beautifully so, a true country Inn. Our room was clean, with great duvet and pillows, bathroom was immaculate. The staff and hospitality were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble, after three nights and four days we knew them all by name and they knew ours! Would I stay there again? In a heartbeat!!"

"Top quality food. Steak & Ale pie to die for and excellent fish & chips. Great breakfast with quality produce. Brilliant selection of ales. Old fashioned English Inn with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Tidy room with a modern en-suite shower room. Bed not to our liking but that's very much a personal choice. In a very quiet location with no shops nearby but would recommend for an overnight stay."
