"If you love a rustic, quiet setting by the lake and not be annoyed by the lack of 'newness' or up-to-date appliances and amenities then this is the place for you. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay but only because of the setting. From my understanding this lodge/resort was sold fairly recently and is in the process of being updated. The main lodge is very modern and up-to-date but prices were out of our range. We also have 2 small dogs and I don't believe you can have dogs in the main...

"The toilet ran all night and the hea/AC fan sounded like a freight train. Difficult to sleep with all that noise. There was no elevator do you had to haul your suitcases up the stairs."

"We loved our stay at Southshore! The hotel was very clean and the staff is top notch. We stayed in a 2 queen bed studio suite, which fit our family of 5 beautifully (with room to spare). The breakfast was amazing; so many choices! Would definitely recommend!"
