Host was so helpful! Checked in with us and was ready to answer any questions. The location was superb! We were in walking distance to many restaurants along La Jolla Shores. There was a beautiful hiking trail to La Jolla Cove, with stunning views along the way. Wonderful, clean, full equipped kitchen w washer and dryer! Highly recommend!

Such a cute and cozy place. Perfect location as we had a graduation at Scripps Institute of Oceanography. We were able to walk to graduation as the parking there is limited. Communication was perfect and informative. Walked to dinner ! Would definitely stay there again. Suggest a few more dish towels as no dishwasher… but not a big deal.

Location location location

Stayed at La Jolla shores to visit our student UCSD. Perfect location for walks on the beach and feeling like a La Jolla local for a few days. Cozy, quiet and at the center of the universe. Everything that’s important any ways.

Perfect location!

We absolutely loved the location of this beach bungalow! It was perfect for our stay in La Jolla. The bungalow had everything we needed. Having laundry on site was very helpful with multiple beach visits. I wish the listing had included information about having a high chair and pack n play. We also had a small issue with cleanliness. We could tell the previous visitors had pets as there was still hair found all over the rug, and a dog bone under the couch. Our son has a pet allergy and it seemed to flare up since it wasn’t cleaned as much as we would have hoped. Other than that our stay was perfect and we would consider staying in this location again, as it was safe and just a short walk to many restaurants and one of the best beaches in America!

Delightful getaway - excellent service

The bungalow surprisingly secluded, given that it is to a main-ish road. The garden is immediately welcoming, with lush planting and a fountain that helps to provide white noise. The bungalow itself is well used but clean and comfortable. The real distinguishing factor here was the standard of the management. We had to change the dates for our stay in negotiation with the host, and this was handled seamlessly and kindly. A couple of problems with the property, most importantly a (noisily) defective A/C unit, were also quickly resolved, with apologies and responsiveness from the host, courtesy from the techs and cleaning service who came to handle the issues, and good cheer. This all made for a very positive experience.

The good news ...location, privacy, parking, communication/response from Rose were excellent! There is a gas grill available out back that I don't believe was mentioned in the online description. Nice option if you want to grill. Nice to have a washer/dryer onsite. Also nice of Rose to allow an early check-in for us since we arrived a bit early. What could be improved...There were some minor cleaning issues in bathroom that were quickly handled by a visit from the cleaning crew orchestrated by Rose. Not that big of a deal. The listing online stated that the property has a dining table w/ 4 chairs but it does not! The picture online shows a coffee maker on a small table in the kitchen with 2 small stools and a very small bench. No way can 4 people fit there. We questioned Rose about that before our visit but were told that the owners would not provide a table and 4 chairs. They offered a refund, but we decided to keep our reservation and just tried to use the small coffee table instead. The sofa and chair in the living room area are both very soiled as well as the rug. This was mentioned in a few older reviews but had not been corrected as of or visit. We also did not have hot water in the shower. There were a few other minor issues that could easily be addressed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but with a minimal investment, the property could be significantly improved. The dining issue and inaccurate description online should be corrected immediately.

Beautiful hidden beach bungalow!

Can’t say enough good things about our stay! Rose was super accommodating with our check in process. We arrived an hour early and were granted access to start our stay. We brought our 8 month old baby girl with us as well as our two dogs, the set up was perfect! Everything was in walking distance, parking (even with my truck) was ideal, plus there was a cute little corner store market to pick up some easy snacks. Couldn’t have a more ideal location! The bungalows themselves are very comfortable and homey. The entrance was securely gated to the 4 units. The shared courtyard was very cute with an outdoor shower, perfect for washing off the sand before going back inside. All the additional families that stayed there during our time were friendly and polite. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Repeat Customer

Staying at this apartment makes vacationing at La Jolla a little easier. The biggest benefit besides having parking is the ability to walk to the beach. The walk is made in under 10 minutes. Admittedly I have timed this walk with my son eagerly running to the beach to swim with the sharks on the south side of the beach.The apartment is small, which I like. It is easier to keep things organized. I have be using this apartment since 2020 and I have never regretted staying there. I do think it is time for maybe a refresh of the apartment (not a remodel) and maybe adding a desk to work on would be nice. Having said that I will still use the apartments without a refresh. Refresh= swap out TV to a newer one and repair the outside shower. Loved the trip and the apartment.

Beachy dream

Loved my stay! Property manager was easy to work with, the property exceeded my expectations in location and proximity to beach, restaurants, fun, etc. and in the the layout and how well-equipped it was. The only thing I’d change is that the bathroom was a little old and had a slow drain in the tub. Would definitely stay here again (and hope to)! Thanks!

Great location, but challenging communication

This is a tough review to write. On the one hand, the location is outstanding and the unit is very livable. On the other hand many, many things were broken and in spite of leaving emails, 2 voicemails to the designated number, and a couple of other calls to the other number, we never got so much as a response. Toilet seat was broken, pots in the kitchen had handles falling off, front door was broken so it had to be slammed to close it (neighbors were not happy), and one of the coffee cups had a broken handle. It became so frustrating we got some tools and fixed the pots in the kitchen so we could cook. It is really a great space if they would just repair items or at least improve their communication.
