As a mom traveling from the US without her husband, and with a bunch of kids (and with my elderly parents), I was extremely happy with our stay! This house had a mini split (A/C) in each bedroom as well as the kitchen/family room. The host was ALWAYS available (we used WhatsApp, but also available using VRBO messaging). As for safety, I never once worried about my safety or the security of the property. It is in a residential area. Some homeowners are full time residents, other homes are vacation rentals. It was a three dollar Uber ride too and from town, which was a mile and a half walk. The house had an amazing outdoor living space right off of the kitchen/family room. We loved to spend our mornings drinking coffee and our evenings just hanging out recapping about the day on the covered deck. The backyard had a small above ground pool. We would definitely stay again.

Great property for the money, nice view of volcano, house needs a deep cleaning and painting touch up, maybe upgrade furniture in the kitchen area, other than that I recommend this property for large family.

We had a great stay in La Fortuna, the house was as advertised, well maintained with lots of space. The covered patio area was great, as being in a rainforest we did have our share of rain. The few questions we had were answered by the host quickly. Definitely recommend.

Brisas del Volcan was a great place to kick off our stay in Costa Rica. Our host, Joseph, was very responsive via WhatsApp, to open the gate remotely when we were arriving to La Fortuna, even though we were a little late due to rain & fog on our drive from San Jose. It's in a great location, about a 5 minute drive to the La Fortuna town center. We were a group of 8 and had plenty of space here. The house is very modern, A/C & fans worked great. It was safe and secure with an automatic gate for driveway and property. Basic cooking supplies & kitchenware provided if you want to cook a little. The deck is a great place to relax in the mornings or evenings with coffee or a drink. Unfortunately we couldn't see the volcano because the weather for our 3 days in La Fortuna was cloudy, foggy and rainy. (There is a pool outside that looked clean, but the cool, rainy weather prevented us from using it.) Brisas del Volcan was a relaxing, comfortable place to return to after a day's activities and our group really enjoyed our stay here. I would definitely recommend this property.

The house was exactly as advertised. The beds were comfortable and the showers had great water pressure. They supplied the basics needed. Great view. The location is perfect. You are 5 minutes from town so it is easily accessible to everything yet not in the hustle and bustle. Would definitely stay here again if in La Fortuna.

Joseph was a gracious host and responsive, but there are things that kept me from giving 5 stars. First the positives: The home was clean, and in a safe area. The view of the volcano was extraordinary and the balcony was great. The beds were comfortable and it was nice to find a place with so many beds so my teenagers didn't have to share. The negatives were few but consequential. When we arrived the next door neighbor was blasting music from their home. When I reached out to let Joseph know, he was apologetic and said that sometimes happens and he'd call the police if it continued after 10pm. Thankfully they turned it off around 8. I don't hold Joseph responsible for that, but think it's worth noting for future travelers, as it was loud enough to keep babies from napping in the house and certainly too loud to be outside while it was on. Where I could see improvement for the future that he can control would be to be more generous with household supplies. We were 5 people, staying 4 nights and we had one roll of paper towels, no extra trash bags, a used sponge for dishes and not enough toilet paper. So we had to purchase all those things locally. As part of the attraction of a VRBO is cooking, this was a letdown. Also, the description says a hot tub, but there is a small dipping tub, so just be aware of that. The living room was very small and very little sitting that wasn't all that comfortable. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting. All said, it was nice stay.

House was very clean and nice. There may have been some confusion about a hot tub/spa as there was only an above ground pool outside that is not a hot tub/spa. Other than that it lovely staying there.

We had a nice stay at this house, convenient to La Fortuna. We had 4 people across the 3 bedrooms and everything went well. The home was well prepared, the hosts were helpful, and everything went well.We spent most of our time in the area away from the home, so it was mostly a place to sleep and have coffee and a smoothie in the mornings, and it served its purpose well.

We had an excellent day at this location. It was extremely spacious, with three bedrooms and more than enough room for the entire family. Shower temperature was great. The kitchen had just about everything although we weren’t able to find silverware, but it really didn’t make that much of a difference to us since we were eating out during our three day stay. It was very centrally located and close to all the restaurants and attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

First time in Costa Rico and La Fortuna

Really enjoyed our stay in La Fortuna. This house is at the edge of the town. Property was well equipped and we enjoyed the outdoor dining area. There are many interesting restaurant in LaFortuna. We went white water rafting - it was great.

Fantastic view

Great house, with lots of room, sleeping space and bathrooms. The deck is wonderful. We spent lots of time up there, bird watching, taking pictures of the volcano, playing games. Only thing that could be improved is the safety of the stairs, they don’t have handrails and the material makes it hard to distinguish stair edges. Since living space is upstairs you can’t avoid using them.

Volcano views

We had a comfortable stay at Brisas del Volcan. The view of the volcano was perfect with morning coffee and the bird watching in the neighborhood was pretty great also. Town and shops were a short drive. We did not use the pool.

Nice place, good view, clean and tidy, accusations of theft included!

We enjoyed our stay. The pool was tiny and above ground - something I didn't expect - but was clean and the kids liked it nonetheless. After we checked out is when the problems started. He tried to charge us 50.00 USD for 2 towels that he said we stole. First of all, we didn't steal any towels and didn't even have room in our bags for the stuff we purchased. We explained this to him and he would not relent. He kept trying to charge us a ridiculous amount of money for 2 towels! I'd like to give the place a good review and I would have had the owner been reasonable. Who steals towels from a BNB while on vacation? We could have purchased cool vacation-themed towels if we were that desperate.

Fantastic house!

Very clean, so easy to communicate with the host, easy check in and great recommendations for local restaurants and things to do. The house was great! Fit our family of 6 well with enough space. The neighborhood was removed enough from the busy downtown area which was nice but was still only 5 minutes away from it. It was great! We'd stay there again for sure!

Costa Rican adventure..

We enjoyed our stay here, the home was spacious, awesome balcony with volcano view. Awesomely designed bathrooms, with good shower pressure. Beds were on the firmer side, which is great for some, but not for all. Had enough room for everyone, we only used the bedrooms downstairs. Neighborhood felt safe, people were friendly. It was located near to some of the activities we had planned. You would def need transportation to get to downtown or other restaurants etc. We did experience a bit of stress the morning of arriving. We hadn't yet heard from the host with the address and checkin info. But due to no fault of his own, he had a personal emergency and was able to give all the info we needed, and was available via WhatsApp if needed. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.
