"Quirky little place to stay with a wide range of room options. Self catering cabins, dung beetle suites, or chalets are on option. I expected the ding beetle suites to be a room in a larger building. Instead was a self contained quonset hut style accomodation. Had a shower ,toilet, fridge inside, so was quite serviceable. However for a long stay such as ours the chalet was much more comfortable. Thanks to Henry for recognition and upgrading us without prompting. Breakfast was fantastics. ...

"Needs major improvement... extremely cold rooms without heat and building needs also to be upscaled urgently. But the major issue was at dinner when a lady (probably the owner) approached us explaining that because there was not going to be electricity the next day I had to prepay all expenses + any future expenses, which I gladly did... but there was no electricity shortage the next day, even when I asked an employee they didn’t know what was so talking about. "Camp Figtree was absolutely wonderful - stunning location, wonderful lodgings, fabulous food, and the loveliest people...It's a very special place and we felt a real pang when it was time to leave. Everything was managed smoothly throughout with fab communication from Karin who arranged transfers and safari days for us (and was very patient with assorted queries!) before we even arrived. All the team we met were fantastically welcoming...to name a few, Wicky (excellent driving and conversation),...

"We have never stayed anywhere quite like it. Absolute luxury, complemented by the most attentive, courteous and professional staff we have ever encountered. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel truly special and cared for in the most extraordinary way. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was simply exceptional, with world-class cuisine worthy of a top chef, whether it was breakfast, lunch, high tea or dinner. Every meal was an...

"Everything was perfect!"

"Leuke plek ver weg van alle drukte. Gastvrouw is fantastisch en zo ook het eten. Verwacht geen hotel, het is een farm house."

"There is no better safari geared up for families in the world. We had the best time ever as did our seven year old daughter, and the staff couldn’t have done any more for us. This place is THE gold standard in luxury safaris and Riverdene ensured it worked for children too without compromising quality for adults too. Cannot recommend highly enough and thanks so much to all the team! "
