  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I gave this a four only because the dryer did not work properly, and the bed was horrible in one of the rooms. Other than that, this was a perfect house and a great stay.

What you see is what you get!

Super location. Wonderful nights on the deck watching the ocean! Plenty of room for everyone. pool and hottub were great. Lots of family fun with the pool table. I would recommend this place. Just be aware house is a bit run down. Water pressure is low and appliances are worn out. I guess comes from being a rental.

Great overall trip

Overall the experience was great. House was mostly clean (the kitchen trash can was full of diapers that were not pleasant). The upstairs air conditioner went out on the second day we were there but the property manager was very quick to get it corrected. The family and I had a wonderful time

Good but not great.

Easy check in. Found beer cans/bottles outside. Not great w a toddler. Ceiling fans were horribly dusty. Mold around vents and sliding doors. Both bad for allergies and my mom has COPD. Kitchen wasn't clean. Used coffee filter and grounds in pot along w residual coffee. King size beds horribly uncomfortable. Positives: rest of the bedrooms comfy and the living room and playroom furniture. The pool and Jacuzzi are clear...and that view tho. We would book again if the prices weren't going to an insane level next season.

We had an awesome week the house was big enough for our family and close to the beach

Everything was excellent we only had one complaint that had to do with one of the sinks not working properly but didn’t interfere with our stay we would definitely stay here again thank you so much for an awesome week

Kitty Hawk 2021

Property was good for location, rooms, Amenities and overall. Unfortunately we couldnt enjoy because most of the windows had ripped or missing screens. Screen doors was ripped. Basketbal court, jacuzzi and especially pools was not as described. Pool was actually green. Jacuzzi in odd spot, not enjoyable. Only other problem was no direct access to beach. Otherwise it was good to stay there. Lots of rooms and bathrooms. Washer/dryer a big plus. Kitchen needs afew upgrades.

We loved the house. It was decorated real nice. Loved the view of the Ocean and watching Dolphin's swim by from the deck. Would love to stay here again.

Sea spirit week

This is the first time we have rented this house. It is an older home in good condition. Location To the beach was great. Oceans views were great. No houses in front of it, so you could catch the sunrises from the decks. Three decks on all levels of the house with exits to the decks in all rooms. Plenty of room to spread out. Bathrooms located everywhere. House was supplied with everything we needed. Negatives. Carpet throughout the house that has seen better days. Plenty of pet stains from previous use as it’s pet friendly. We did a lot of vacuuming to keep it clean. Looks bad but did not smell. Internet was terrible. Normally that wouldn’t be a problem. But this year we had a few family members that still were working. Hot tub was basically a swimming pool for kids. Water would not get hot and jets were a minimum. Tvs were small which my brother complained about but he’s a tv person and I am not. Mattresses on the king beds need replaced . Others were very comfortable. None of these issues impacted our great week. First time we used blue outer banks rental group. They were amazing. House was clean. You got a 250 credit with a company to rent extras you needed. These were there when we arrived. All in all it was a great experience and we would rent this house again.
