Even though the weather was awful, we had a great time at Salt on the Rim. The house was clean, well-equipped and the beds were very comfortable. We did have a couple of hours without rain and we really enjoyed the heated pool. We would definitely like to stay here again. Thank you

This is such a beautiful, family friendly beach home. I came with my husband, two kids, and dog. Everyone had a great time and we were all so comfortable! Having the private pool was a saving grace! I think we spent the most time in there. Even I got to swim in it because it is heated and kept at literally the perfect temperature. It was the perfect size for our family. There were even pool floats and toys there for us to use! And forget having to buy beach toys or bring your own…this house literally everything you need for a day at the beach (beach chairs, beach cart, umbrella, shovels, nets for crabbing, flashlights for night walks…and MORE!). The owners of this home really thought of all the little things that truly make a HUGE difference. It was very clean, too. I loved that there was a vacuum and other cleaning supplies so I could clean up during the week. The owners were very quick to answer me if I ever needed them. This is the perfect place if you have a dog, too. Has a nice little grassy yard for the dog to go potty. Also, the area is just very dog friendly in general. This place is great and if you’re on the fence…just do it! You won’t be disappointed!

A Kitty Hawk gem

This was a our first visit to Kitty Hawk, and this terrific house was a perfect home base for tons of fun. We've stayed in dozens of beach houses all over NC coast, and this is easily among our favorites. The location is fantastic - steps to a beautiful beach, walking distance to great bars and restaurants, and only 4 mins by car to multiple grocery stores, restaurants and activities. We also really appreciated that such a well maintained home was so pet friendly. Highlights:- Fantastic pool and hot tub, both meticulously maintained. Great pool deck area with tons of shade and seating. Relaxing fun for all ages. - Simple, but roomy and comfortable floor plan. Every bit of furniture in the house and in the outdoor area is very nice and very comfortable. - Great wi-fi internet smart TVs throughout the house.- Kitchen was well stocked with coffee supplies and tons of cookware. - Super communicative owners who made sure we had all the info we needed for our trip. Great house for a family or group looking to enjoy Kitty Hawk beaches. We certainly plan to be back!

Great Please

We loved the house and was so close to the ocean, When not fishing or pin the ocean we loved the time in the pool and hot tub. Only thing I would suggest is a toilet on the pool level.

Amazing week!

First let me say.... they did NOT lie when they said the pool was heated...it was amazing! So many times we've stayed at places that say it's heated but barely is but this week even had some chilly times (55-60) but we were still able to swim in the pool without one shiver! The whole backyard... the pool, hot tub, corn hole area... it was awesome! The house was very tidy and easy to keep up. The kitchen had everything you need and we were even able to bake a cake without issue. Easy to walk to the beach and even some cute dining options in walking distance. Oh and they have bikes! The road is the best for biking... at least before all those rentals get filled but we usually go to the area right before that happens so not sure what it's like filled but there are some sidewalks for riding. We had the best week and this house was by far one of the best we've been to in the past few years!

Second stay at SOTR and can’t say enough good things about it

The property is exactly as advertised, well appointed, and clean. This was my second stay here. Last month with my family and this time with my 6 girlfriends. I knew they would love it and they did! We’re going back next October! The weather turned out great and we made good use of the heated pool. My son had left a personal belonging from the last stay and the owner/host made sure to place it in the house for me. The house and the host are really over the top and exceeds expectations.

Fantastic beach house

We had a great week at Salt on the Rim. The house was clean, well maintained and comfortable. We loved the pool, and the proximity to the beach. The patio area was very cozy, and we enjoyed watching the sunrises from the balcony. The owner was easy to communicate with, and very helpful.

Perfect end to the summer

The property was exactly as advertised. Nicely decorated and appointed, clean and well equipped plus everything worked! Owner/host was super responsive, answered questions quickly and addressed a small issue with the house bikes immediately by having a couple of rental bikes delivered. I had everything I needed in the kitchen to make family meals and we used the second full size refrigerator for drinks and snacks. The house was cozy and we played games in the great room. The two decks were nice. You can watch the sunrise on the east deck then enjoy the shade on the west deck until noon, then switch back to the shady east deck in the evenings. The pool was the right size for our party of 6 with lots of well made seating and lounging available. We made good use of the beach gear and the outdoor shower. Having use of the washer and dryer in the utility room was nice too. The property is very dog friendly and we had our 2 dogs with us. The single set of steps up to the house level was great for old knees! One of the bathroom showers is tiny so we made the kids use that shower and they mostly opted for the outdoor shower. The house is well maintained and the owners obviously have a lot of pride of ownership. I definitely recommend. In fact, I already booked a second stay!

An amazing stay full of memories

Salt on the Rim turned out to be just as advertised. Such a close walk to the beach. An absolutely gorgeous backyard oasis to come back to after lounging on the week. The heated pool was amazing and glad we had it. The house was just as it was in the pictures. The owners communication was excellent and provided everything that was asked. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks for an amazing property where we made memories that will last a lifetime.

Lovely home!

Our family stayed at Salt on the rim for Thanksgiving weekend. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay so much! I would definitely recommend staying at this home! We loved the hot tub it was so relaxing. We loved how close the house was to the beach. We were able to walk down there and catch a few sunrises. It is so beautiful in Kitty Hawk and staying at Salt on the Rim made our week special. We had no problems at all. Mike and Maria were wonderful hosts and made everything so easy. Thank you for sharing your house with us! This was our first time going to the outer banks for Thanksgiving and it was our best one yet!

Great Spot in Kitty Hawk

This house was perfect for our two families of four. The backyard is amazing with a very nice pool, hot tub and a little astro turf lane for some outdoor games. Very close to beach access and lots of extra goodies provided to ease your stay. Highly recommend staying here!

Great location and great property

Everything was as described. Location was a block from the beach which we went to almost every day. The beach chairs, umbrella and especially beach wagon were a great unexpected addition. Even got out on the bicycles a couple of times. The pool was refreshing, the hot tub nice a warm for the rain day. Enjoyed playing cornhole. Basically we had a wonderful relaxing time.

Very pleasant beach house

We very much enjoyed our stay. The location was wonderful, the property very nice. We ate in, and the kitchen was perfect for making meals. The place is very clean and an excellent "base", whether you prefer walking to the beach or visiting Kitty Hawk.
