Great Location and Beautiful Views!

Beach house getaway

Great time at this beach house for our family of 7 including kids and grandparents. Well stocked kitchen, BEAUTIFUL views of the water. Management company was great to work with.

Wonderful

My (now) wife and I stayed here with family after getting married a short distance away on the Kitty Hawk Pier - and Katmandunes was nothing short of spectacular! Check-in was easy, folks are friendly, and the house had everything we needed and wanted to have a relaxing week after a dizzying few days. We love this house and especially the spacious deck for hanging out and watching the sunrise.

The beach is not difficult to get to so many homes I have rented in the past have said oceanfront and you feel like you have to walk a football field to get there or climb over dunes. You do not do this here. Home is well maintained. I guess if I had one complaint, I paid for early check-in and it was not ready at 1:00 we waited till about 2:30 but with that being said, I’ve already pre-registered for next year love it!! 😊

It is exactly as Advertised and Carolina Shores property management staff are courteous and helpful. The house sits right across the street from the Rundown Cafe, one of the best restaurants on the ONX, and it’s minutes away to other great eating spots. And, did I say Duck Donuts is right across the street as well?!

Another great Thanksgiving at Katmandunes!

We love the views of the beach through the large windows and really can’t get much closer to the ocean. It is perfect for our three generation family from a two year old to the grandparents. We enjoyed the hot tub while listening to the surf. Since this is our third time staying at Katmandunes,we enjoy seeing the improvements made each year. This year we were greeted by new stairs and porch on the street side. We would recommend this beach house and enjoy the close proximity to restaurants and grocery stores.

Stunning views, love the outdoor furniture, cant say enough!! THE only reason were not renting again is because we always come for the 4th of July, so were going to try to get a place closer to the Avalon pier. Carolina Shores is probably the best rental Co. I've ever used in OBX & believe me I've used a lot of them.

Wonderful floor plan - watch the sunrise by turning over in bed - these moments are indescribable for beach lovers young and old. Spacious living, comfortable furniture, luxurious hot tub - only advice would be to spray for bugs because there were a few unwelcome pests downstairs. Otherwise, we had a dream spring break vacation!

Reviewer Comments: We spent our second Thanksgiving week at Katmandunes with our family, which included their two dogs and of course our toddler granddaughter! The house was perfect for all of us. We cooked all of our food while there,except for one night. We really could not all fit in the kitchen at once, but with our daughter in law’s scheduling skills, we all took turns in cooking and cleanup. The beds were comfortable and we were pleased with the addition of curtains on the upstairs bedrooms. There was a significant maintenance issue but the rental office handeled it quickly that same day. We like being able to be so close to the beach and look forward to spending another Thanksgiving there next year.

Kitchen stove not clean inside.. Trash all around and under the property. Front steps and porch not save (needs replacement). Bedroom door to outside dead bolts not working. The place next door and the two beside it is much newer, clean and half the price.

Great location, good stay, worst realtor experience

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family enjoyed our week, in spite of several issues I left on the form I left with Carolina Shores. Detailing damage we discovered and discussed with Joshua, the maintenance man, while he was repairing the sink I am being charged with damaging??? So I was shocked to be charged for prior damage done and frustrated my continued calls to be heard and correct this injustice have still not been returned. In over 30 years of vacationing in OBX, this is by far my worst realtor experience. We have never damaged a home or any of its contents. And I find this either inept or unethical.

I feel the cleaning crew could do a lot better job. We had to go without water for a day because it was shut off.

So close to the beach and convenient to literally anything you could want or need! The kitchen was great. Had a full spice cabinet with all your coking needs, an automatic ice maker that was always full, both a keurig and regular coffee maker, and all the pots, pans, and dishes you could hope for. The only things we longed for were an enclosed outdoor shower and a grassy area to take the dog out. We’d definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Location

Upon arriving the stairs into the house are in poor condition and we were a little nervous to use them. The views from the home are breathtaking and having the pleasure of watching the dolphins play just off the beach is a wonderful experience. There were belongings left from the previous guest including clothing and other items on the upstair’s balcony. There were dead bugs in the bathroom downstairs and we noticed a lot of ants in the kitchen and living room area, along with two cockroaches. We have vacationed at the Outer Banks for many years and never encountered cockroaches. We had to wash the front windows when we arrived so that we could enjoy the view. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, and the appliances are all new. The furniture was comfortable including the beds. The location of the house on the beach was the best part of this property.
