  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Summary

Great property layout for parents, 2 adult children, and three grandchildren.Only negatives are noise from adjacent highway, and the floors were not clean. Children had dirty bare feet the first few hours we were there. Everything else was clean.

Best Family Vacation Ever

Beautiful, spacious house. The pool was the center of family fun. The walk to the beach is about 7 minutes. My family said this has been the best house we have rented at Outer Banks and we have rented houses in Outer Banks about 20 times.

FAMILY OBX VACATION 2025

The house was very clean! Nicely decorated! Kitchen was well stocked. Lots of pool supplies to entertain the grandkids. Great game room! Plenty of yard space for my pup. I would rent this home again!!

Getaway for our sons college graduation!

Pros**Parking was no issue. We were able to fit 4-6 cars easily. This house is beautifully decorated and as listed The pool gets full sun most of the day. It’s shallow and perfect for lounging. Bring your favorite floats .Cons**some blackout blinds or curtains in the bedrooms would be nice. I love the sunshine but it hits the windows full force early **the lighting in the backyard is pretty much non existent. Its is very dark back there at night so it was hard to enjoy the hot tub when it was finally cool enough to get in. Some rope lights around the fence would be great. There were two outside lights that were not working . I did call for maintenance (twice) but they did not show while we were there. Bring hand soap for the bathrooms , extra toilet paper , a scrubbie for the kitchen dishes and extra trash bags for sure! All in all the house made for a perfect get away! Short walk to the beach and the dogs fit right in!

Short stay

Only 4 days but house was great. Love the decor. Wish the weather was a little warmer for the pool. We used the hot tub , game room and board games for a rainy couple days. Kitchen is well stocked for all. Only complaint would be the high way noise and propane out after one use.. would still give it a 10.

Friends Getaway

We truly enjoyed our stay. We all meet up every few months to get together and catch up. We all ride motorcycles, so we came for the bike weekend and it was Great! Not so crazy nonsense and busy like other places. Great riding areas to see and explore My husband and I use to come here in years past, (20) every year annd stayed in Frisco, and it is CRAZY how much things have grown! Thanks you so much for sharing your home with us. We would definitely like to come back again,…possibly make it a yearly trip

Great House!

The house was beautiful and exactly as described. Plenty of room for the 9 of us. Despite lousy weather we had a great time. A few difficult dealings with management company but still recommend this property.

Amazing Time

We stayed here with our dogs for a weeklong stay for two friends' weddings. This was a PERFECT location! The house was perfect for us and the pups; beach access was amazing. Everything was so clean; we had a GREAT time. We cannot wait to return.

The house was perfect for what we needed. There was a lot of room and space which included activities on property such as a pool, hot tub, a game room, books, and movies available. The house is a short walk to the beach with a path in the backyard. The kitchen is stocked with all the utensils, dishes, containers and cooking instruments you'll need. The property is located on the main road but, honestly, it wasn't bad, and the noise was minimal. Our contact with the property management, Outer Banks Blue Rental Vacation was wonderful. The staff was very friendly, kind, and helpful. We would definitely book with them in the future. The only negative to the property was the cleanliness. We had beer cans in the hot tub area, cat and/or dog hair on the living room furniture (not a little but a lot) and some areas which looked like it hadn't been swept. We located trash and old receipts from the last tenants on the property. It looked as if the cleaning service did a quick wipe down and changed the linens then called it a day. It wasn't anything we couldn't correct ourselves but is something that could be improved on.

Great House!

My family and I really enjoyed staying at the Casa Spiaggia! It was a short walk to the beach, and we loved having a private pool in the backyard. The house was very clean, and the kitchen was very well stocked. There were towels on each bed, but we brought extra towels with us for the beach and the pool. One thing to keep in mind is that the check-in time period is between 4-6PM. It's not listed on vrbo, but it is in the contract after you book the house. Totally our fault for not seeing it in the contract, so we went thinking everything would be ready for us at 4PM. We were able to access the house at 4, but it was not ready yet. It's nice to see that the company takes the time to really clean the house well for the next guests. We would definitely come back and stay here again!

Great vacation spot!

Great Birthday Weekend

My husband and my sister and her husband stayed. We had a wonderful time. Did not want to leave. Very nice vacation house for a family. Close to beach and dining. Would love to stay here again.
