This stay was amazing! The home is so beautiful and so is Dystart. There is a great cafe about a 5 minute walk from the home. The bus stop is also nearby, with a line taking you directly into Edinburgh. I can’t recommend enough!

Great Time

Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Property had great views over the Firth of Forth, and was very close to the Fife coastal walk. The property has all the facilities needed, and was very comfortable. Visited various places around the East Neuk during our stay. Would recommend.

Hogmanay Holidays

We had a wonderful stay over New Year and found Dysart to be the most beautiful and interesting village. A walk round the harbour, up through the gorgeous park and round Ravenscraig Castle makes for a great afternoon! John McDouall Stuart View is a lovely place to stay, with a mega comfortable bed, fab shower and cosy, comfy living room and kitchen space. We were beyond chuffed to find a very generous welcome gift awaiting us on our arrival and were astounded to get an amazing view of the Edinburgh fireworks from the living room window - magical! We were genuinely sad to go and will definitely make a return visit - thanks to Beth and her team for a wonderful stay!

What a lovely apartment! It is clean and very comfortable with everuthing you need in a home away from home. The views from all the windows are great and ever changing,. The location is good, cllse to railway station and main roads for easy access to Edinburgh etc. One of the best places we have stayed.

Tolle Unterkunft

Ein sehr schönes und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Apartment. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die ruhige Lage und den herrlichen Meerblick (direkt vom Esstisch) haben wir sehr genossen. Ein perfekter Standort um Ausflüge zu den interessanten Orten der Umgebung zu unternehmen und bei Wanderungen tolle Landschaften zu genießen.

Moderne, helle Wohnung in altem Gemäuer bei passender Einrichtung mit herrlichem Blick über den Firth of Forth auf Edinburgh, ansprechende Orte mit historischem Flair sowie beeindruckende Herrenhäuser und Gärten in der Umgebung, weitläufig hügelige Landschaft bei schnell wechselnder Wetterlage. Überall auffallend sauber und vor allem immer wieder nette Menschen. Vieles ist dann beim nächsten Besuch dran.

Schöne Lage mit viel Blick auf den Firth of Forth, individuelle Einrichtung, komplett ausgestattet. Nur wenige Meter zum (kleinen) Supermarkt, nur wenige Schritte zum Coastal Path. Manchmal hört man den Fernseher von unten, aber das Schlafzimmer im 1. OG ist ruhig und das Bett komfortabel. Would like to be back soon!

A lovely flat with great views of the Firth of Forth. Has great character.

Very well equipped flat, great for a couple. Flat itself up a flight of stairs as is the 1 bathroom, for us it was fine and the house has kept its character. Great waking up in the morning and looking over to the sea. Would love to come back some time. Thanks to the owners for their thoughtfulness-great to find bread and milk plus a bottle of wine on arriving. Flat is near public transport too (bus stop)

Sehr schöne Wohnung im restaurierten Haus.

Wir waren zwei Wochen in dieser sehr schön renovierten Altbau - Wohnung. In der Wohnung ist alles enthalten WLAN, Fernseher, komplett eingerichtete Küche, von Waschmaschine/Trocknerkombi bis hin zur Geschirrspülmaschine alles da. Geschirr völlig ausreichend, das Schlafzimmer ist mit einem sehr guten Bett und Matratzen ausgestattet. Das Bad reicht mit Dusche völlig aus. Es ist sehr sehr ruhig und so gut wie kein Verkehr in den Straßen unterwegs. Das Meer ist ein paar Meter weg und das Fischerörtchen Dysart lädt zum Entspannen ein. Für uns war es ein Startpunkt bis hoch in den Norden zu fahren bzw. an die Westküste. Anfangs hatten wir auf dem Flughafen Probleme da mein Koffer nicht ankam und wir die Unterlagen für den Mietwagen dadurch nicht hatten. Beth hatte uns hier sehr geholfen, dafür nochmals recht herzlichen Dank. Insgesamt hatten wir von hier knapp 2800 Meilen mit dem Mietwagen zurückgelegt. Sehr schön war auch dass gerade mal 4 Meilen entfernt in Kirkaldy am Meer täglich Robben zu sehen sind. Land und Menschen sehr sehr freundlich und immer Hilfsbereit. Wir sagen jedenfalls nochmals vielen Dank für die schönen Tage in dieser Wohnung.

Super Stützpunkt für Ausflüge

Eine schöne, gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung in einem historischen Gebäude, in ruhiger Lage, nahe am Meer. Sehr netter Empfang mit einem Strauß Blumen auf dem Tisch, Brot, Milch und Wein sicherten die erste Verpflegung. Beth war über die Fewo-App sehr schnell erreichbar und reagierte prompt. Auch bei kleinen Problemen, die nichts mit der Wohnung zu tun hatten, bemühte sie sich zu helfen. Das fand ich sehr toll. Im Vorfeld haben wir die Adressen von Supermärkten in Kirkcaldy erhalten, was sehr hilfreich war. Da der Eingang und das Schlafzimmer nur über Treppen erreichbar sind, ist dies die einzige Einschränkung für Menschen, die Probleme damit haben. Ansonsten sehr empfehlenswert. Von Dysart aus kann man gut verschiedene Landesteile erreichen. Die Scottish Borders bis Melrose und Jedburgh, die Gegend von Aberdeen und Pitlochry und Trochsass Nationalpark mit Loch Lomond, Loch Katrine und Loch Leven. Und in Fife gibt es natürlich auch viel zu sehen. Wir haben einen tollen Schottland-Urlaub dort verbracht.

Beautifully restored holiday home

Beautifully restored holiday home for two in a village just outside of Kirkcaldy. A warm welcome was provided with a loaf of bread, milk, wine and some flowers. The views from the cottage over the Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh are breathtaking. The cottage is a great base for going on walks, i.e. the Coastal Path, or to the hills of West and East Lomond. Also a visit to Dewar's whisky distillery in Aberfeldy is an option after a beautiful drive in the country (avoiding the main routes). A visit to Edinburgh completed our trip before flying back to Holland. We were very lucky with beautiful sunny weather!
